Official teams and preview for Crystal Palace v Arsenal

I guess the Arsenal manager really does believe all his talk about the cohesion and stability of a team being all important, because Arsene Wenger has, stubbornly some might say, stuck largely with the same starting line up that was so poor as we lost to West Ham last Sunday.

The Frenchman has made a couple of changes, but with our star of last season Alexis Sanchez being fit to play after his extended summer break, one of those changes was bound to happen. The other is to put the young Spanish right back Hector Bellerin back in the side in favour of Mathieu Debuchy and that is also because he is fit to play again after a thigh problem.

So there is no real tactical change, with Giroud keeping his place at centre forward, Theo Walcott on the bench and both Aaron Ramsey and Santi Cazorla in the starting XI. Whether that means our little Spanish midfield maestro is going to be stuck out wide again we will have to wait and see.

But let’s be honest, he has an abundance of talent in the midfield and I don’t think that if Yo had gone at that time, whether he would have got into that Arsenal team, he would have had to fight.

      1. I hope he has a plan cause we have no pace or width and a slow build up might hurt us with palace preffering to play on the counter

    2. Yet again only one natural winger and wenger trying to accommodate for all the midfielders by playing one of them out of position, which ends up with everyone trying to go through the middle and it gets conjested.
      Wenger needs to grow some balls and drop one of the midfielders for the ox and play with two proper wide players.

    3. oh God help us ooo wat on earth is ramsey doing on the flank when theo and ox is fit, wenger need to tel us the relationship btw him and ramsey, or those it mean ramsey givs him his halve of wages?

    4. Why the should we pay Wenger some an amount of money when he is reapeting the same mistake expecting a different result. Play real wingers for God’s sake Wenger! I think our weakest link will always be Ramsey and Ozil. Ramsey in the sense that he tries too much , Ozil does the opposite! he doesn’t care being dominated by a 16 year old!

  2. Ugh.. Wenger needs to have the nerve to drop either Ramsey or Cazorla. Play one, not both. Cazorla has been playing better, he deserves the starting spot right now. Playing Ramsey out wide makes our whole attack too narrow and makes us week defensively down the right side. I feel sorry for Bellerin a lot of the time, he very rarely has any support down the right side of the pitch. Glad to see him back in the team though.

    3 points is a must. Come on Arsenal! Cech clean sheet and a MOTM performance today please.

    1. Wenger should drop either ramsey or cazorla but no mention of Ozil. I am still waitimng for someone to explain how ozil is way better than Ramsey and cazorla. Rambo was player of the season 2 years agao. last year cazorla was on beast mode. Now we want them out. But Ozil always plays anyways.

  3. I am not from AOB but Wenger will never change. Again he is playing Ramsey and dropped best palyer of pre season (atleast for) Ox. If we win today people will forget about West ham but remember know other manager would have played Mert over Gabriel and Ramsey over Ox. What we can do, we are not Wenger.

    1. What’s the point in ‘competition for places’ if it doesn’t exist? Most of those players had an appalling game last week and none of them have paid the price for it. Not saying they should all be dropped but Ox and Debuchy lost their places, and Ox was probably one of our better players last week. Doesn’t make sense.

    2. Again no mention of Ozil. Just ramsey and cazorla. we are as bias as Wenger. Ozil was poor too. Infact he was very poor. But he is the star. he is the £42m man .

      Even when Ramsey was our player of the year. he was still criticised. But Ozil will walk away freely.

  8. Wenger knows that if he would put Ramsey on the bench, the bighead would immediately put an transfer request in to leave the club. He is a player who thinks that he is to good already and him being benched is absolutely out of the question! Where the Ox is young and unproven so he needs shut it.

    1. How do you know what goes on in Ramsey’s head? If AW asks him to play out wide is he going to say no? No player, especially not Ramsey will refuse to play if the boss asks him. I agree one of Ramsey/Carzola/Ozil needs to be dropped but don’t start personally criticizing one of our better players for unfounded reasons you haven’t the slightest clue about, idiot.

Guess we’ve figured out why Arsenal haven’t bought someone in the middle, Ramsey has to play no matter what and where, Wilshere will have to play no matter what or where, if I were Ox I’ll be catching my head and wondering what the hell is going on, if I were Walcott I’ll be smiling because if he’s gonna pay me 140k per week to sit on the bench ooh well. All I have to say I do hope for Wenger’s sake that this works, if it doesn’t, then the drum beat will be sounding.

    Why wenger like to change the line up at the beginning of the season. I remember we having good games at the end of 13/14 and Wenger changed the formation at 14/15 and we struggle. Now same old thing, we having wonderful ending of 14/15, now he change the good understanding of cazorla and Cox and the WH match not make him undrstand?

    1. No he put back cazorla and Cox to the middle. You can see we are more balanced when Cox and carzola cement the middle.

  44. Just watching the game but not enjoying Alexis’s role. Him and Coquelin keep giving the ball away. But Bolases for Palace is really strong as he is quick and skilful!

    1. Not everyone 😉 Many of us went another GK?! We need a DM and Striker. We do not have another DM or a striker and ended up with 3 GK’s. One on loan at Roma.
