Official teams and Preview of Arsenal at Leicester

After a slightly slow start to the season, Arsenal have a great chance to go into the international break just two points off the top of the Premier League with a win at newly promoted Leicester City. But Arsene Wenger still has a few injury concerns and a few selection issues to make.

The big team news is that the Frenchman has brought Yaya Sanogo back into the centre forward position to replace the injured Giroud, moving the Chile international Alexis Sanchez back out to the right. Wenger has also dropped Jack Wilshere and stuck with Santi Cazorla on the left, although Podolski, Campbell and Chamberlain are on the bench.

Szczesny
Debuchy, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal
Flamini, Ramsey
Sanchez, Ozil, Cazorla
Sanogo

subs: Martinez, Chambers, Wilshere, Rosicky, Chamberlain, Campbell, Podolski

The bench looks a bit light defensively and I am surprised that Hector Bellerin is not on there, but the versatility of Chambers could be the reason for that. It looks like the Gunners are set up to control the ball and push Leicester back.

We certainly have the players to take all three points today, as long as we play to our strengths and do not let the home side get into their stride early on. Hopefully our young French striker can produce the sort of form that saw him score four goals against Benfica in pre-season and fire the Gunners above the spuds. COYG.

  1. Rosicky and Campbell never get a chance to play! Our team performance is very very bad, against crystal palace, everton , besiktas, and now leicester city. In conclusion, WENGER OUT.

    1. @ihsan I agree with you totally. Wenger is getting old and I think that is affecting his judgement. He will not win anything this season if he continues with his stubbornness. Please AFC Board : Let’s change managers now; WENGER OUT!!!!

  2. wenger please last chance bring tommorow bony carvalho and defender other ways get ready for disopointed season we will never win epl with sonogo in front

  3. i am 100% sure the money is there but wenger or the board they dont want to spend
remember gazidis said we will compete with big teams in 2014
and hoe the richest guy in egland cant even get in the board
the board and wenger faces serious questions

  4. So we have 1 day and 4 hours left in the window.
We need 3 players, (CB,DM and ST).
I have a feeling at 10.58 pm Wenger announce 1 huge signing, A Reus type player.

Thumbs up 3 mid quality signings.
Thumbs down 1 marquee signing only.

  5. Wenger keeps saying that we will buy if we find the right player, when there are 2 out there in Cavani and Falcao waiting to be bought. That man doesn’t have a clue sometimes, honestly and I’m saying this with every emotion set aside!

  6. Worrying form at the moment but that will improve. Midweek game did not help. But really confused with our forward selections and line-up. Alexis sometimes is our striker next week a winger!? Ozil plays behind the striker now is right midfield. Podolski who Wenger says is not a Centre forward is brought on for Sanogo. Campbell not brought on at all again. Confused it looked like it out there to me. We will only improve if we keep the formation and give Players a chance to get used to each other.

  7. We have the shortest squad (in numbers) in the BPL with Burnley…!!!
What does it says about the club ambition?
    Exactly, none!

We cannot even beat a promotion team after having such a number of chances to kill it!!

    WTF !!!!

  8. Sorry, I’ve lost my patience now.

It is not Sanogo or Giroud the main problem, the main problem is Wenger that he choose not to buy quality main striker.

It is not Flamini or Arteta the main problem, the problem is Wenger that he choose not to buy quality CDM.

And even World Class Quality Player like Messi, C.Ronaldo, Bale, Suarez, etc, can NEVER EVER help the team IF they are not given a chance to play.
That’s also the problem that we have quality player like Rosicky and Campbell, BUT Wenger choose to not given even a single chance for them to play. Rosicky and Campbell deserved a chance to proved their worth. They absolutely can improve our attacking performance IF they were given a chance to play. Rosicky can inject much creativity, spirit, directness, game making and dictating tempo ability, penetrating dribbles to break down the opponent defence, and much much more.

Rosicky always makes things happen, not only with individual dribbling but with individual acceleration of his passing and of his runs.

Unfortunately, Wenger is way too STUBBORN and too old.

The main problem is Wenger, his poor team selection and his old tactic.

Sadly, the FACT, in our last five matches, we still have a very serious problem in beating the likes of Crystal Palace, Besiktas(twice), Everton, and Now Leicester city.

    Chelsea beat Leicester, we draw.
    Chelsea beat Everton, we draw.

If you really watch carefully our current performance, last five matches, we really need to improve. Our current performance are definitely not good enough.

Unfortunately, Wenger is way too STUBBORN & too old to listen any advices.
