Official teams and preview of Arsenal at Swansea City

With an international break on the horizon, Arsenal somehow find themselves in a great position to go into a two week break in a good position, just a point behind Man City and well above the likes of Liverpool, Man United and Tottenham. And we also need a win to put some poor results and performances behind us and set ourselves up for the rest of the season.

Arsene Wenger has the usual number of injury problems in the squad, with no Arteta, Koscielny, Debuchy, Giroud or Ozil available. So Arsene Wenger has decided to keep, as far as possible, the side that started against Anderlecht and got the Gunners three goals to the good on Tuesday.

The Frenchman clearly feels that letting in three late goals was an aberration and does not expect it to happen again, so the only change he has made is a forced one due to the knock picked up by Mikel Arteta, with Mathieu Flamini coming in for the captain.

Szczesny
Chambers, Mertesacker, Monreal, Gibbs
Chamberlain, Ramsey, Flamini, Cazorla
Alexis, Welbeck

subs: Martinez, Bellerin, Rosicky, Wilshere, Podolski, Walcott, Sanogo

There is plenty of attacking talent on the bench but not a lot in the way of shoring things up, so I expect the Gunners to start very solid and make sure we do not concede and that we dominate the ball and wear Swansea down. Of course we will be looking to score but with a makeshift back four and a poor defensive record this season, keeping a clean sheet is perhaps the key to winning this game.

Flamini does not even know where the ball is and our keeper does nothing all day but the first shot goes in.
Never been a wenger out person because I believe the problem is the penny owner who took a loan to buy arsenal and has not put a penny .they are actually taking money out. It is time for wenger to call them out publicly .
How else do you explain ox , wilshere , giroud , flamini ,schecny as starters.
      We sold the wrong pole.

There’s nothing more I can say becuz my men are in the house. We are everywhere, members of SAWS (Special Anti-Wenger Squad) and together we say:

        F*CK you Wenger!!!

    2. galaxygooner

Welbeck would make a better DM than flamini.
Either wenger/ board clears out the mediocre and ageing players or they are about to get a revolt.
Signing Sanchez was the biggest mistakes of their lives because that guy makes everybody else look absolutely mediocre( apart from Gibbs and welbeck who put in a decent shift all the time) .
On another note , wenger substitution are always late . I remember him always bringing Kanu on in the 85 minute to chase a lost cause. How in the heck is someone going to change something that late . 19 times out of 20, it is not going to happen .
      And sonogo,
      Not exactly lukaku.
Even our youth team keep getting trashed.

      1. KickAssFan

So I told the guy next to me: “Just watch, Arsene won’t make any changes until 70 or 75 minutes”. Not that I am a soothsayer, just that I know the idiot called Wenger.

The Miz (Garry Monk) won by making the right substitutions.

Wenger has turn Arsenal to an average club like Newcastle and the rest the only thing big about Arsenal is the Name…Wenger must leave b4 Arsenal can bounce back to a top club…where are the AKB that think wenger will bring back glory… hahahahahahahahahahahahaha I mourn for Arsenal till wenger leave our beloved club

  1. rkw

Too late the French arse**** fu*** up again mourinho is spot on he is an expert in failure just no clue abt how to win games

    1. jackieboy

The only way that’ll happen is if the entire board dies, because as long as they’re even near this club it’ll be this way. Morbid thought yes, but I believe it to be the truth.

    1. luvdaguns

why? i hear this all the time, he would be sitting on the pine in barca, he will lead a great team to glory, he went from normal player at barca to a star and leader at arsenal, he is fine…

      1. Gigi2

        really think so?
he can shineif we lose, he can shine if his goals lead us to silverware,
or do you think he wants to shine “a la SUArez” in Pool?

  2. Adienl

Chambers has not stopped a single cross.
I repeat not a SINGLE cross from his flank. This is silly.
    Let’s just laugh.

  3. juhislihis

Wenger’s obvious tactical mistake: to put Chambers against Montero.

Montero isn’t a great player, but he’s got pace. Same goes with Bellerin who’s lightning fast. So what does Wenger do? He puts Chambers of course because he probably didn’t even to bother look at who Swansea might play.

    1. Mick The Gooner

Yep. I said that before the game too, not to mention Chambers being better suited to play against Bony than Monreal, considering he’s much bigger and stronger.

  4. john0711

    DONT BLAME CHAMBERS
Montero was on the team sheet why not play Bellerin our quickest RB
and we ALL saw chambers was struggling but wenger still left it and now we are 2-1 down he makes subs F WENGER
    And his fans

    1. Big Gun

I cannot argue with that. Anyone of us would have subbed Chambers or put him CB and played a quicker full back down the right. Chambers has been skinned alive tonight.

  5. Matt

Injury after injury, which means players like Monreal at centre back, never buys in positions we need, simply not good enough, we lack so much it’s unreal. Wenger has lost his marbles.

    1. Charlie Nick

The sad thing is that we only need about 3 players – decent centre half or two, DM, but we prob won’t get them

  6. Mark Mywords

Montero has been beating Chambers since the first minute. This goal has been coming! Yet Wenger did not react for 78 minutes. He is to blame. He has to go!!

  7. reddb10

without koncielny it is clear as day that mert is crap.
monreal is not even good enough for 3rd division
and yet our manager renews their contracts???!!!

  8. Charlie Nick

Surely everybody could see Chambers was struggling with Montero…? Bellerin has pace hasn’t he??
And Monreal never got off the ground!

  9. CraigZWE

It’s like last year when Monreal struggled with Everton, but Wenger leaves it and we get hammered.

  10. Daedric_Lord

too late subs, when sanchez scored a sub was mandatory, but no, lets wait when we are down 2-1….

  11. CraigZWE

More points lost due to Wengers tactical inept.

Really 5 points in one week, how many would that be in a season.

  12. Tommy-Gunner

Gibbs, chambers and our inability to do anything from a set piece are what cost us the game today…

  13. joeboy

Sanchez must think how many times do i have to try and keep arsenal in the game and they just blow it!

  14. juhislihis

Oh please could someone in the press conference ask Wenger did he bother to study the possible lineup for Swansea.

  15. RSH

at what point does it just become funny. because i just laughed when Wenger only made the sub after we went down. its so typical and predictable.

    1. RSH

what is it with Arsenal fans wanting to insult EVERY single one of our former players, even when they did a decent job, and helped end our freaking trophy drought??

  16. CraigZWE

After game players and Wenger will just talk, oh how we need to defend as team.

Too much at Arsenal , just do your fing job.

  17. jackieboy

The last time I actually hated a manager was Don Howe, but at least with Don he had the sense to admit he was bringing the team down and leave. Wenger is a delusional tw*t who is too stubborn to admit that his failures are bringing the club down and that we don’t deserve to endure what he is responsible for. Call it an overreaction but I wouldn’t be sad in the slightest if something bad happened to Wenger so long as we got someone in who plays the role with the times as opposed to being stuck in the past.

    1. Specialist in Failure

I hate Wenger too. I really phisically hate him! I can’t stand watching this old buffoon sitting there like a mummy in this Puma sarcophagus of his.

  18. CraigZWE

Why can’t we play like we do when we know we going to lose game?

Really we would destroy most teams

  19. RWRW

I BLAME WENGER, PURELY BECAUSE HE IS A CNUT AND DIDNT SIGN SUITABLE PLAYERS IN WINDOW. WENGER OUT!!!

  20. fred cowardly

Well lets guess who Wenger will blame this time
    1. The Refs?
    2. Pitch?
    3. Tiredness?
    4. Anderlecht?
    5. Players?
    6. Weather?

  21. 5th Gen Gooner

Same sh*t different team! Swansea make 2 substitutions and score twice before Arsene does anything with 10 minutes left. Sanogo on with 89 minutes on the clock? Tactical genius!

Damage limitation until we can open the cheque book which we know Arsene will not do other than for some second-rate player who probably isn’t even a defender!

Does arsene even watch other teams and try to assemble a tactical approach. Seems like we play every every game as though it’s against the same team. No imagination, no creativity and no idea how to protect a lead.

Sanchez might be scoring but I’m sure he’s thinking I need to be in a team that wins! Kinda like wishing we didn’t have a manager relying on ancient history of success.

  22. 5th Gen Gooner

No doubt AKB/BABA think the traveling fans that are soaking wet should be thankful and privileged to have watched a team that aims for 4th spot.

  23. Specialist in Failure

This French buffoon has made us a toothless mid-table team. There will be no top 4 spot this season. Not a chance! I sincerely love this club, but I have to be realistic. And then Wenger will be sacked. No Champions League money – no mercy from that greedy board. You’ll see…

  24. 5th Gen Gooner

I see AKB/BABA are finally at a lost for words. Shame I was looking forward to a fairy story to send me to sleep.

Forever COYG but let’s get real!

  25. jamesthegoon

Glad I haven’t wasted time watching arsenal the past few months. Useless. Won’t be bothering till the dictator has gone.

    Clueless defensively

  26. Ronny331

Some simple proof today that wenger is blind, stupid or stubborn. I said days agao we must play belerin due to routledege and dyer havingpace Once I saw the reateam sheet and montero it was even more important as he’s lightning quick. So here’s two oppurtunities wengers missed to make the right simple selection. He then allows chambers to get skinned all game does not bring on belerin, does not instruxt Ramsey or others to offer cover. Now he’s nsuceeded in danagibg a young new players confidence, specialist in failure indeed, wenger out and not upstairs bit too another club!

  27. Ronny331

Cant ever remeber such a low point being an araenal fan, it’s not losing games but the manner of the performances, the poorly completed transfer activity, the naivety surrounding injuries, the poor team selections, poor in game tactics, and wengers continual arrogance and inability to listen to anyone or admit he’s wrong. So sad for our players who struggle on πŸ™
