Official teams and preview of Arsenal v Liverpool – Injury crisis again?

You would say that losaing one of your first choice centre backs just before a huge and possibly key game in the Premier League, so for Arsenal to lose both Lautrent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker must be seen as a complete nightmare and brings back all those horrible momories of the ongoing injury problems that have ravaged Arsenal for years.

So Arsene Wenger has no choice but to bring in Calum Chambers and Gabriel and we can only hope that they are ready to deal with the power and threat of Benteke and that the full backs and Francis Coquelin can give them plenty of protection from the likes of Coutinho and Firmino.

At least Liverpool have lost their main midfield man Jordan Henderson to injury as well and so have gone for three combative central midfielders in Lucas, Milner and Emre Can. THat sounds tyo me like the recipe for a congest midfield and that makes the decision to stick with Ramsey on the right as a potentially bad one from the boss. Where is our width?

Cech
Bellerin, Chambers, Gabriel, Monreal
Coquelin, Cazorla
Ramsey, Ozil, Alexis
Giroud

subs: Debuchy, Gibbs, Arteta, Ospina, Walcott, Oxlade-Chamberlain

I was feeling quite confident about this game but now I would be happy with a draw. How about you guys?

  1. What’s going on guys??? Listening to the game at work and all I’ve been hearing is Liverpool attack after attack

    1. We are making it a nightmare for us. Chambers lost the ball 25 yards out MULTIPLE times. Cech has made numerous world class saves, including one STUNNER.

Oh and the linesman took away our legit goal.

      1. When you cannot dominate games at home , you know that you are simply not good enough. Liverpool, Barcelona or not.
        It is that simple

  2. We should have bought otmendi…. Stikl not too late… Come on wenger get quality CB b4 the summer windown close!!!

  3. Half time, hope Wenger know how to change this game around but to trust him just like trusting Giroud will get golden boot award.

  4. How Ramsey keeps popping up on the left is beyond me. When we probe on the left side and then pull the ball out to then penetrate on the other side, we have absolutely no balance at all. No penetrating run from the other side.

We also have no vertical option because we have no speed to get in-behind except on Alexis’s side. Screaming at Chambers to play it into the corner, but to whom? Put AOC or Theo, or both in, and let’s press Liverpool’s back line back a bit and give our midfield Maestro’s some space.

Dammit. We are inviting pressure and creating our own problems

  5. We should have bought otmendi…. Stikl not too late… Come on wenger get quality CB b4 the summer windown close!!!
Still waiting for Bemzema or Cavani

  6. Premier title challengers getting bitchslapped $ home by a decent Liverpool side.

Other than the offside nightmare call have the mighty Arsenal mustered anything else on O?

Meanwhile Coutinol has hit the post twice and Cech has been absolutely brilliant.

Oh yeah Benteke still isnt Arsenal quality and Brenda can’t coach his way out of a paper bag.

Pool: 39% possession, 11 shots, five on goal.

Wake we up when Arsene retires.

  7. Forgot to mention: Giroud has won.. how many headers? ZERO. Benteke has won almost every single one..

  8. Piss poor arsenal and fans saying we can win the title playing like this , hahahah. At this stage a striker less United have more chance of lifting the title than us

      1. Was giroud even playing. He has done his quota of scoring last week, now he wont for another 3 odd games.

Our best player is a chelsea legend. Shame but true.

  9. Well that was a woeful first half. We look average with the ball and terrible without it. Sort it out arsenal ffs.

  10. No idea how it’s nil nil but there is no doubt in my mind that this team will not compete at top level and after that half 4th place in jeopardy … Welcome to the weird and delusional world of Arsene wenger … Old tired stubborn living in the past

  11. If we can be playing like this at our home,I really wonder where we’ll finish this season, the whole team and manager is really poor this first half.

    1. @JT
Hard to say at the moment. They’re both keepin us in this match. We need to inject some speed into this chaos…

  12. off topic, reported Man Utd offered 190 million Euro for Neymar… hope this does not happen, you need a WC striker to win this leaque,

  13. Why I am I getting thoughts that Liverpool will taste their own medicine today….
    You know what I mean

  14. What a coincidence.
Two first choice centre backs out for a big game.
We lose tonight and thats curtains for the premiership…
So disappointing that it would seem that Wenger has no interest in strengthening in key areas…
Perhaps when we fall at the first hurdle he will step down and let someone with fresh ideas and a modern perspective on the game come in…
But then again pigs might fly…

  15. can someone tell me which one is the function of aaron ramsey? he really unbalance the team, he tried to play in many different positions…. and interfere with the other players…

  16. So many misplaced passes…..and I won’t blame Chambers for his shambling start…….because thats what happens when you keep the players benched…..!!!

  17. Wtf Coq off OX on.

Stupid absolutely stupid, why risk us being exposed. If 5 attacking players cant score how will 6

  18. Direct wing play causes problems every time. Why we didn’t start with the ox I don’t know.! Too many CAMS squeezed into the team as always..

  19. Le coq MOM or Ozil

Giroud not good enough if you want to win the league, sometimes you only get one chance or a couple of half chances like today, the top strikers finish them that’s why they are worth the money

  20. Well that just highlights are need for signings. And ppl actually believe this squad is better then city or chelsea to win the league

  21. Well. I didn`t go back to bed and I`m glad I didn`t because we saw a little of the real Arsenal.
Poor old Giroud comes in for some stick ,and must admit I`m one of his critics, he is nearly always a micro second too late, I call him “Mr Nearly”. For once I give credit to Ramsey, he was into everything.

  22. Ozil deserves a shout out. He’s passing and movement is amazing. If we had won the game people would be more aware of his contribution. He’s really world class.

Can’t help but imagine him playing behind a lewendoski or a Aguero.
