Official teams and preview of Arsenal v Monaco

Arsene Wenger has made two changes to the line up that saw Arsenal take a two goal lead and hold on against Crystal Palace at the weekend and it will be no surprise to most fans that both are in the full back position. So Hector Bellerin comes back in and Kieran Gibbs returns for Monreal.

So Ospina keeps his place in goal ahead of Szczesny and Coquelin continues to be Wenger’s main man in front of the back four. The manager is also sticking with his somewhat experimental and very attacking formation of Cazorla and Ozil in the central areas.

There is plenty of pace, power and goals up front as well with Giroud leading the line and Welbeck and Alexis on either side. We also have a very strong looking bench with the likes of Walcott, Rosicky and even the Ox in case they are needed.

Ospina
Bellerin, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs
Coquelin
Alexis, Cazorla, Ozil, Welbeck
Giroud

Subs: Szczesny, Gabriel, Monreal, Chambers, Rosicky, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Walcott

And there is good news from the Monaco team sheet as well, with their star winger Carrasco and one of their best defenders Kurzawa only making the bench after picking up knocks at the weekend. They are also missing the experience of Carvalho at the back and Toulalan in the middle.

Go get em Gunners!

  1. Disgusting f’n team. Good job OX scoring and then single-handedly gifting Monaco their third. That was the last nail in the coffin.

Well now we can focus on covering the Wenger Trophy.

    1. The arsenal badge ?

      Anyone can wear that.

The Arsenal badge represents mediocrity because its the message the club sends out by standing by a mediocre manager and being happy with mediocre results.

It has mediocre fans as well because if they truly wanted change they would have it by now.

Nothing speaks more about fan discontent than falling attendances and yet they are as high as ever.

So the mediocre fans are happy with mediocre results from a mediocre manager therefore anyone can wear the badge of Arsenal.

As long as the don’t mind being labelled mediocre..

  2. Arsenal are pathetic.

Wenger is a first class moron – if he goes, is sacked or just dies I don’t care as long as he is gone.

    3-1 down to Monaco

    WENGER OUT !

    Oh whats the point.

    I just can’t be bothered anymore…

  3. Hahahahaha lets jus take a moment and laugh at us! What a joke! Wenger you couldn’t build a decent team with 500million quid……joke defensive but wenger will probably some ow blame the Ref and carry on with his faith in ozil an mertesacker

  4. I’ll say it again, I saw this Monaco side play us off the park pre season and arriving at the Emirates tonight they will have been familiar with the surroundings and spurred on by all the media ‘easy team’ quotes.
No surprise for me, men against boys!
Ox well done though top goal.

    1. It was men against boys. But we had the supposedly older/ experienced team!!
Not one player tonight played well. It was a shocking team performance.
If Mertesacker comes out with some silly statement saying ” we just didn’t show up today blah blah blah”
He can GTFO of arsenal now.
      So disappointed….

  5. Wish we don’t have to play an away game and just crash out now. Will really be embarrassing to watch the way they will defend and make a mess of our team knowing we need to score 3 goals more to progress. I think Monaco was underestimated again by Wenger and the team.

  6. 3-1
    We are officially Monaco B*TCHES…!!

Mertesacker cannot even come back because he too SLOW…!!

That is not a manager, Wenger does not even shake the Monaco manager hand… Sad loser and poor “found out” manager…

    SAME STORY EACH SEASON…

MONACO HAD 5 FIRST TEAM PLAYERS OUT FOR THE GAME…

The work ethic, the courage and the performance of this team was spot on. They have played with their strength…

Why did Wenger sign for 3 more years…??
May be because he is a shareholder or something else.
Mourinho even wonder why he was in position for so long…!!
Because any other manager would have been sacked long time ago.

The “big” advantage he has, is that a great majority of Arsenal fan are satisfy with this bullshits…!!
Monaco manager is 40 years old.

    WE KNOW HOW IT WORKS…
SOME FANS WILL GO MAD ON ARSENAL TV.
WENGER WILL GIVE SOME EXCUSES AND IT ALL WILL BE FORGOTTEN IN 2 WEEKS.
WHY, BECAUSE THAT’S THE WAY WE LIKE IT…LOL

    TOP CLUB…? WHY? WHERE?
HAVING A BIG STADIUM DOES NOT GIVE YOU THE RIGHT TO CALL YOURSELF TOP CLUB… IT DOES NOT WORK LIKE THAT…!!

We need to regroup because Everton is next…

  7. Did we want to lose that game?

It was just inexplicable the way the Ox gave away the ball when everyone else was forward. Coming away 1-2 wouldn’t have been so bad…

The defence was so awful it was shocking…. We knew they were a counter attacking side, and almost every chance they had they scored, and almost every chance we had we didn’t.

We should’ve been set up for the counter attack… they were very similar to the Manure side we lost to at the Emirates. Even Wenger was warning about the counter attack… why were we set up so badly in defence???????

  8. And why the heck does Welbeck smile after a fokop that is a blatant miss??? Stinks of utter unseriousness!!!
