One JustArsenal reader had inside information – and Aubameyang knew too

Jon Fox was right!!! by Neil Watson

All of you who doubted him!! Jon Fox knew!! I wrote last week that our new signings would have known he was going, a few of you disagreed but not Jon, he had faith in my words!

I think all of now can get behind the team for the rest of the season and, collectively, THANK Wenger all the way to the end. Let’s forget that its taken a monumental period of time to get him to step aside but its been worth the wait.

We have come a long way under Wenger and, although the last few years have been frustrating, we have a club in an outrageously strong position and he has to take a huge amount of credit for that.

It does mean our replacement has been discussed in great detail and, Aubameyang’s agent will be fully aware of who the shortlist contains….

Here’s additional bonuses we get: Ozil will now have to start again to impress the new manager, as will all of those players who have been taking it easy.

I full anticipate a few new faces in, several of the underachievers out and, even if we have a mixed 2018/19 season, things will undoubtedly move forward positively.

The sun is out everywhere in North London !!!

  1. Dear god really ?!
The plug on twitter has been saying it for months also .
    Many others
Of all the things to talk about today …this ?!

OT my dad has already msgd me..
Bet your glad u handed back your season ticket now aren’t u boy ? Getting funny in his old age

      1. John Ibrahim, Time for Jon Fox to go? Show him a bit of respect, he called it right, just because you get nothing right, that’s no excuse to tell other people they’ve got to go. Now, forget about him lets all pick an Arsene Wenger side. I’ll start with,,,,,,Lehmann…. Dixon….Adams….Campbell….Cole….Vieira….Gilberto….Petitte….Pires…..Bergkamp….Henry

        1. Kenny, Thanks ! The actual loser is NOT Arsene Wenger, as he retains his life values. The real loser is John Ibrahim and the few other biitter ones who, having lost the argument and it being publicly proven so, now have not the humility or courage to move on. It takes a big person to admit they are wrong. Clearly some on here, (though to be fair, I have only noticed JOHN IBRAHIM, thus far) are rather little people. We who were on the large majority side and most , certainly including pires, who were on the other side, have put our past differences aside and embraced an inclusive Gooner fellowship. WE ALL ARE THE BIG ONES.

          1. Hey Jon, you got it right! A bit sad, but he had to go someday, all i wanted was a dignified exit without abuse and ill wishes.Hope this news unites fans and removes negativity and we win the EL.

  2. While I agree that Wenger needed to leave, posts like this are just plain disrespectful. How anyone can be happy he is leaving is beyond me. Yes, we needed change and it has happened, but like Arsene said himself – let’s keep te values of the club.

Somewhere along the line we seem to have acquired a fan base that is bordering on classless.

    1. Say whatever you like, it’s our hate that eventually got him out. The means may have been uncivil but I believe the truly marvelous outcome has vindicated us all. We can dare to dream now, and we shall be great again!

      1. Yes that’s fine but this morning he announced that he is leaving. Not sure why he shouldn’t get a universally dignified exit from all sections of the fan base.

After all it is our greatest manager leaving. This man is a fabric of what it is to be this club. We wanted change, we got it but don’t see why people have to wander into disrespectful comments

        1. Because he over stayed his welcome by 7-8 years in which we could have attracted the likes of Pep or Klopp etc..
He is leaving us with no Defense to speak of and not a single fighting quality midfielder.
He has been horrible in the transfer market burdening the club with the likes of Xhaka, Mustafi,Chambers,Wellbeck,Perez, etc…
I will not pay tribute to him just because finally he is leaving.
But what i will do is stop wishing that we dont win the European Cup and support the team fully going forward.

          1. You were wishing we lose? I don’t think you understand what it is to support a team

    2. this is a bit silly. A few days ago we were all bashing him, you included, now we have to pretend we’re saints? Let’s be honest, it’s negativity like ours that was part of the reason the fanbase turned against the manager and got the change made. Of course we’re happy to see him go because that’s what we wanted all along! Doesn’t mean I don’t respect what he’s done in the past, but I am VERY happy to see him go. Playing peacemaker doesn’t fit well with you. You have targeted Wenger, and abused Iwobi (to a large degree undeservedly). Please don’t try to lecture anyone on disrespect.

      1. I want him to go too.

But he has said now he is going. Big difference between before his announcement and after it. Not really sure why people need to gloat.

        PS: Iwobi is wack

        1. PS2: also show me a post where I said I would be happy if he left. I wanted him to leave a long time ago but big difference between that and the way some fans are behaving today

        2. there’s not a big difference before or after he left. If you are clamoring for people to be respectful, you have to remain respectful throughout the entire situation. I have not and have said disrespectful things about him, as have you. Changing the tune the minute you get what you want is simply dishonest. Will you be singing Iwobi’s praises calling him a nice guy if he gets sold this summer? I hope you can see how that comes off as very phony an insincere.

          1. That doesn’t even make sense. Off course people will change their tune once they get what they want. I am a season ticket holder and haven’t been to the past 5 games. Wenger is the one and only reason for that. Do you think because that was the action I took in protest, that I will never go back?

You think that is dishonest? That it is dishonest to protest? That we should stay in a state of protest now?

The whole thing was a sorry saga. The whole club – fans included have come away looking like fools. I am saying that this is it – he walked himself. Not sure where you got your conspiracy theory from.

PS: happy to personally apologise to you when Iwobi becomes a star. You will be waiting forever for that apology though

            1. Listen, all I’m saying is don’t pretend to be classy immediately after you’ve just shown yourself not to be. Even in the post above me you can’t leave Iwobi alone, lmao. Your freaking screename is abuse yet you want others to be respectful. It’s insanity.

              1. Seriously I don’t get why you keep on not understanding.

I am not for respecting Wenger. I don’t rate him. I can’t stand him.

I am for respecting his exit. He is one of our greatest managers over a period of more than 2 decades. If we are still abusive between now and the end of his time here (a matter of weeks now) then my point regarding the club having acquired a lot of classless fans along the way stands.

                1. How can you be upset or surprised if there are classless fans when we’ve both been some of them!!

  3. No need for insiders. I believe some of the fans are clever enough to see the signs, like me, @jon fox, @Break-on-through, etc. But the others are too dumb and easily got incited by the media, made them ignore Arsenal’s recent activities

Arsenal have been collecting German speaking players and staffs, so we could predict where this is going

  4. I wrote yesterday that we should forget Wenger and support the team against Atletico. We need to pull the stunt Liverpool fans pulled against city!! But y’all still came out n picked on Wenger, used him as an excuse.
He’s leaving now, Fine it’s a bittersweet feeling, can we all get behind the team now? Can we all finish this season on a high now?

  5. I salute Jon Fox! He saw it, called it. Jon Fox, think you can look into your crystal ball and tell us who’s gonna be our next manager? Will we win Europa? The league next season? Come on Jon, we want to know!

    1. It could be Thomas Tuchel

Suppose we win the EL because of Wenger’s resignation. Then what if Wenger cancelled his resignation because of the EL trophy and the huge amount of support of the fickle fans? It would be a hell of plot twist at the end of this season’s movie

      1. Absolutely no way back for Wenger now! From the “discussions” he had with the club I get the feeling he has been fired and is not letting go on his own accord. Tuchel may be a good option I would be glad if he joined. Carlo Ancelloti as well but above all Diego Simeone has that tough fighter mentality I would want to have next season.

    2. QD, Let’s not go overboard! I am not the MESSIAH. Just a (mostly) very naughty boy! Apologies to Monty Python.

  6. Thank you Arsene For all the good times we enjoyed during your time as our manager. You made us one of the best teams playing beautiful football. You have been a legend however the later years thing started to go wrong but you will always be remembered for taking a team who was struggling to keep pace with the big boys to being one of them.
The king is dead long live the king Bring on Tuchel.

      1. but if it is, or someone else certain fans dont like, then still get behind them. give them time. they’ll need it with the squad they inherit and give them the support they need. jump on them straight away and we’ll have another toxic environment. an exciting road ahead but necessarily an easy one.

  7. Im glad I no longer need to say “W***** O**”. I thought I’d have to say it for at least another season.

I will not say a negative thing about Wenger from now on. This wasn’t about hatred or enjoying dissing someone. We want what’s best for the team. Now that its finally happened I will remember Wenger fondly for:
    2 Premier League Titles,
    7 FA Cups
Keeping us in Champions League for over 2 decades

Let’s now hope we can win Europa League so that our new manager can start his reign in Champions League

    1. Totally agree…..he did his part …….and needed to move on……….hopefully we can give him a European trophy…….

    1. Tuchel of class will be our next manager that’s why Auba and Mkhi joined Arsenal, I remeber when we was linked with Auba in the past he let everyone know he wasn’t interested, Tuchel is still young enough to be humble to the board so it’s all win win

  8. Even if the Arsenal owners back the new manager with finances with the best manager around it will take two to three seasons for Arsenal to compeat fir the title

I belive and hoping that all that cash we have been siting on it will now be available to the new manager, I think it’s been accumulating just for this day because all new good managers would like to put their own signature and already city have said that they will be spending over 200 million Man-U always do and they will sell their dead wood for big money and buy the flexor of the year, I belive at the weary least Arsenal will make available 200 million

    1. Tas, why do you think it will take the new manager two to three years to compete for the PL title? How many years did it take Conte, Mourinho, Mancini, Pelligrini, Ancelloti to win the title? A good manager with the financial backing can do it. That’s why I will go for Ancelloti because he has PL experience.

  9. Jon Fox may have GUESSED right but he had no inside information, it was a guess.
I read comments from other people who had predicted that Wenger would be gone no matter what.

Someone GUESSED right so they have inside information?

Should we go hunt down lottery winners to get their inside information on how to win big?

    PMSL!

    Stupid article.

  10. Neil Watson You embarrass me with praise which I do NOT deserve. I want to make it clear to all that I have no mole inside our club and my predictions were all based on what my own (rather long -sadly for me- life experience toild me . To me it was obvious; to others not so. But who cares! Not me for sure! So I got this one right but I could write a huge book detailing ALL the many mistakes I have made in my long life. ALL that matters now as Gooners following the best club in football history, is to mend fences with each other and not score points (as childish politicians constantly do ). Surely WE are bigger than them! COYG!

    1. I may have bashed the writer and may have sounded extra negative towards you in my posting, sorry if I did.
Well said in life experience telling you, I have joked about your age but here is me praising your wisdom which came with that age 🙂

One thing I am looking forward to sooooooo much is the end of AKB Vs AOB, I always hated that, I am looking forward to putting that behind us all and as you point out, mend the fences with each other.

  11. Thank you Arsene, I really hope we can win the Europa league to send him off, he was our unsung hero, no manager of his pedigree could’ve/would’ve done what he did for Arsenal in a league as competitive as ours and with the budget he had. Some of the players he’s nurtured and the football he’s orchestrated is the most beautiful football we’ll ever see. Countless players owe their careers to that man. Thank you for the financial position we are in (6th biggest club in the world) and giving us the ability to challenge for top honours for the foreseeable future. I would hold off on celebrating because Brendan Rodgers is not an upgrade from Arsene. Anything less than Tuchel and we are going backgrounds i.e. viera, Arteta, Rodgers , Pellegrini. Personally since there s literally zero chance of Simone. I would like Leonardo Jardim, might go some way with us getting martial (which is a realistic target), fabinho, Sidibe which are players we definitely need. Otherwise Ancelloti, Allegri, Lowe or Tuchel in that order, anyone of less pedigree is an insult to Arsene and Arsenal fc

  12. Although change was required, I always respected and loved you as a human being and as a legendary manager who changed the premier league. Its a sad day for football as the last loyal manager leaves his club, there will probably never againg be a manager who stays at one club over 10 years.. an ERA ends now as after fergie wenger also stops, you had limitations but you had many strenghts which are unparalleled.. I hope you dont retire and hire at another big club again, to show that you still got it.
All the best for Arsenal & Arsène

You could’ve left when RM and PSG came for you. You could’ve left when we had the likes of djorou and chamakh and couldn’t compete financially with anyone, but you stayed. You built the club, stayed loyal and gave us 100%. Now you leave us with aubamayang, mhki, ozil and lacca, likes of ramsey. A good financial standing and a beautiful new stadium. That was all done by you. One Arsene Wenger. End of an era, merci Arsene!

    Arsène “Le Prof” knows best

  13. I’ll give credit to Jon Fox. Every post that guy was saying the same thing. I definitely thought the board was too egotistical to ever make him step down but it has finally happened. End of an era. This is the ending that will let Wenger go with grace instead of spite. Now we can have a nice final home game. And hopefully the divide in the fanbase can start repairing itself. I never thought this day would happen so really dont know what else to say. Guess I’ll leave it at that.

  14. Bittersweet moment. Farewell Arsene and thank you so much for all you’ve done and you will forever be engraved in the hearts of the fans.

Now, can we get Julian Nagelsmann PLEASE!!!!

  15. Brendand Rodgers being installed as a firm favourite – I hope this rumor is like the time that we definitely signed Higuan and M’Villa

    1. Yes if he gets it at least the guys making Wenger Out signs can be reemployed making Wenger In signs? #MAGA

  16. It would be nice to see AW siting in the stands at Emirates next to people like Sir Alex Ferguson and alike supporting his old team ? Sorry I’m a bit emotional ?

  17. I have always contended that there was no brain teaser in Wenger leaving one day because it is a law of nature. However the hard part now begins. I always counselled that Wenger departure will be in vain unless we get a manager of equal stature or better. When one observes the names being floated as replacement for Wenger I would say only Carlo Ancelloti and Thomas Tuchel would excite any realistic Arsenal supporter. The others are either works in progress or as yet unproven. Thus we should not celebrate until we know who the replacement is. We could exchange a declining manager with one who has nothing to offer. Let us hold the champagne until we know the replacement.

  18. I want him out however, I want to say a massive thank you to the man who showed me the best football I have ever seen. We need to continue his work so I don’t want Simone

  19. WHAT A TRULY WONDROUS DAY FOR ARSENAL FOOTBALL CLUB!!

prayers finally answered by the football gods…

  20. Jon Fox predicted what any reasonable & sane businessman would have predicted, however he did it with conviction. Now we can all put our Akb/Aob differences aside & give a resounding support to our team for the remaining matches.

  21. I this is very bad article. Also for Ozil you think he will try harder ? He will just do what he is doing now. Put too much pressure on him and you are done. 300K player that will be sulking on bench. So i do not think that will change. Others like Iwobi, Bellerin on the other hand will have to step up or they will be shown door.
Off topic i really do not want Rogers or Simone. Please no !
Carlo Ancelloti and Thomas Tuchel are good for me.

  22. From what the media have been saying for a dew weeks, Tuchel has all but signed for PSG, and they can out spend us in every department.

My top three are Ancelloti, Jardim and Allegri.

  23. This article wasn’t written disrespectfully, as some one of mentioned. You’ll see in the second paragraph I said let’s get behind the team and THANK Wenger….The original article I wrote last week flagged up Auba and his agent knew where things were going before they signed in January. When he signed there was an incredibly slim possibility we could have made top four but his agent would have asked the ‘what if’ question and, like some of you have suggested, they got a straight answer which will hopefully point to Tuchel. Wenger has been great for our club, every knowledgeable fan knows that but those that are celebrating his resignation to day and merely expressing relief that he has finally seen his own shortcomings. It’s not without gratitude that people feel like this, he will most likely be our most iconic manager for the rest of our lifetimes based purely on the legacy of our stadium. As someone earlier said fans can no longer sing that disrespectful song ” We Want You To Stay”……So let’s give him a great send off, thank him for everything and look positively towards the future…

  24. Who cares who predicted what, rightly or wrongly?. There was always a reasonable possibility tbat AW would go at the end of this season, despite having another year’s contract, as all the signs were there-not least the appalling away form. All that matters now is the beginning of the post Wenger era, hopefully having returned to the CL, via winning Europa.
