Ozil and Alexis won’t leave Arsenal in January – Bet on it for easy money!

There are still numerous Arsenal transfer rumours regarding the possibility of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez leaving the club in January, but surely everyone knows that Wenger has no intention of letting either of them leave before the end of their contracts. All summer The Boss made it clear they wouldn’t be sold and, despite the thousands of rumours to the contrary, of course he was proved right.

This season Wenger has always maintained that the superstar duo will be here until the summer, in fact just last week he was asked about if they would be staying and he replied: “Yes, I rule it out.

“I do not think every day about that. At the moment I think, as long as they are here, they have to give their best for the team and for the club.

“In my head, they stay until the end of the season.

“That was the decision taken at the start of the season – unless something unbelievable happens, I don’t think it should change.

“They are going into the final year of their contract.

“Will they stay longer? That is impossible to answer today but they have a contract until the end of the season.”

He can’t get more categorically certain than that, can he? But the rumours persist as the media desperately need to continually make headlines every day, and I have spotted an opportunity to make money on these facts. I have noticed that Unibet are offering prices on if they will still be at Arsenal after the January window, and if you combine the two prices (Alexis at 3/4 and Ozil at 1/4) you can more than double your money! For 100 GBP you could collect 218 GBP in February. This looks like a licence to print money to me!

What do you think?

  1. As a betting man , I do agree. Wenger has pledged to keep both to seasons end and as we all know, he never lies! At this stage – and playing the cards from where we actually are, not where we should or might have been – it is the right thing to keep both, as top four is a realistic chance and with them also and/or Europa Cup, BUT NOT OTHERWISE. Yes we have written off any real sale value on them but that happened two years ago when new contracts were not offered in time due to Wengers legendary dithering, and due to them both thinking, rightly in my view, they had no chance to win the Title or CL with us. AND THAT MUST HAVE BEEN A KEY REASON WHY THEY JOINED, AT THE TIME, along with money and the lure of London , of course. Ozil will have spent five seasons and Sanchez four, easily enough time for disillusion to set in as thousands of us know only too well. Imagine if they had to stay for 21 years, as we all have (in fact almost three times as much again in my sad case).

    1. Plot twist, Wenger decides the 20M he can get each for Sanchez and Ozil is more money than we can get for reaching champions league round of 16 and sells them both…you know, like he sold Fabregas and Nasri ?

  2. I’m not exactly a gambling man but the odds are good indeed. I don’t think either Ozil or Sanchez are going to leave in January. We still have a lot to play for: FA Cup, EFL Cup, Europa League, and of course, we have a much better chance of getting back in top 4 with those two. I know it, you know it, and Wenger knows it too. So yeah, if you feel lucky (do you, punk?) then go ahead, and place a bet.

  3. As much as I want Wenger to leave (I pray every night for world peace and Wenger to leave), I have to commend Wenger for not selling them to our rivals.

BUT I am not convinced that Wenger will replace both players with like for like quality players and get a top defender and top central midfielder too next summer.

  4. Tired of Ozil/Alexis saga. Let the guys leave, because no man is irreplaceable. Good players like Henry, van Persie, Bergkamp, Ashley Cole, Anelka, and Vieira to name a few, but Arsenal is still competing at the high level. Stop crying for Ozil. We deserve better

    1. Yea, we so much deserve better than both of them, there are better players out there, ozil is a poor man’s pires , and sanchez? , His outputs are very low compared to the media attention he gets for staying or leaving………………… We’ve had better players, when they left we survived not to talk of a mentally reserved footballer (ozil) and a player that gets bullied when he tries to get to dangerous positions…………………………you should know what I mean if you really know how football is played.
Again, I say ozil is over-hyped and the consequence of sanchez leaving is hyped……………………….I don’t like ozil, yea, to all the ozil and wenger lovers out there, you don’t know talent when you see it…………. wilshere, Nelson, neymar, ramsey, hazard, suarez, coutinho, Messi are talents……………………. ozil is a poor perception of footballing talent, sanchez is hard work………… ARSENAL DESERVE BETTER

  5. Thumbs down all you want, watch out for PAUL’S ‘ozil is not special, he is just over-hyped ‘ analysis after every game he plays ……
    Haaaaaaahahahahahahahahaha

  6. Please correct me if I am wrong. Didn’t Wenger say a few weeks ago that Sanchez and Ozil won’t be sold in January except if sometime extraordinary were to happen? So nothing is cast in stone.
