Ozil SHOCK Arsenal stats prove his critics are WRONG!!

The Arsenal number 11 and Germany international Mesut Ozil hit back at his critics this week after putting on a Man of the Match performance in the Premier League win at Aston Villa. But as a report in The Mirror reveals, Ozil feels that he has suffered the same sort of thing through the whole of his career. Maybe it is the languid way he seems to play, as Arsene Wenger suggested recently.

Ozil said, “I don’t play to prove anything to anybody, I play for Arsenal.

“I have the feeling that I am criticised more, that happened to me in the Bundesliga and also at Real Madrid.

“We have only just started the season (at Arsenal), we have new players in key positions.

“The collective game, which is something I have a lot to do with, cannot then just work well from one day to the next.

“(Just) 10 weeks ago I was elected to the team of the season in England (via an internet poll on the Premier League website).

“I was world champion then. It was the summer break and after a few games (of the new season) everything is called into question again. This is strange, but I know what I can offer.”

However, a lot of the media criticism directed at the German recently has suggested that, while he was brilliant for Madrid and Germany, Ozil has failed to deliver since coming to England to play for Arsenal, but yet again perceptions may be wrong here. A report by the Daily Star shows that, actually, his stats in some key areas like pass completion, have improved in the last year.

In some areas, like scoring goals, we still need to see more from the playmaker, but another against Villa as well as an assist for Danny Welbeck has got him off the mark for this season and will hopefully lead to more, especially once the new Arsenal team really starts to click. Do you think Arsenal fans will see the best of our record signing this season?

Believe me or not Ozil plays when our forward line is able to pick up his incisive passes.Welbeck is a perfect striker suited to Ozil’s game.

Some say Falcao, some say Cavani,

now some say Welbeck is perfect

even before wenger did his 4141 experiment, ozil’s play was hard to appreciate if you simply look at the amount of running and aggression. but in many games he makes those one or two moves that seal the deal.
          welcome back to 4231 mesut!

If he gets the winner against the scum on Saturday, he will be a legend. Well for a few weeks at least.

We can not be impatient against Ozil or any one We must support who ever up in the pitch. Both Ozil and Welbeck needs support from the fans. We need to get behind our team in these massive fixtures. The whole team is literally poor this season except the Villa game.
Yes he is right. Understating is important to get the best out of Play maker like ozil and that will come with time.
Welbeck also will improve his finishing gradually. The whole team needs to perform well and just not make scapegoat to one player.

This is the 75th article about
Ozil since this season kicked off.
We really need to have at least
another 192 Ozil articles before Christmas…

All i wish is that ozil could also finish and defend atleast a little. He is a good player with passing brains

No need to defend much, he can pressurize the opposition defenders by running to them. Or stop their forward passes. If not possible, just stick to your place and aid the creating or finishing. No need to answer silly critics who can draw random meaningless conclusions.

Are you old enough to remember bergkamp?

How often did our greatest ever no.10 defend? Or henry?

I don’t see that we have switched back to 4231 I see it more of a 4411 our best ever formation under wenger. Just cannot wait to see our best front 6 playing, midfield Walcott wilshire ramsey sanchez with ozil sitting just of welby

would be an awesome squad if everyone puts in the same shift as a. sanchez. I guess that’s what makes them different, one’s a effortless genius the other is a hard-worker.

Can the writers on this site have more statistic analysis on our games, players, vs other players, teams? it would be great to see datas and numbers to back up opinions on perfomances and criticisms.

Yeah specially to all the moaners please provide stats (that also from all reliable sources, definitely otherwise no point in collecting those stats) and then state their point. We all will love to debate on the facts and then if anyone for example davidnz can draw the conclusions. I trust him because in recent articles I saw him being realistic and unbiased drawing out the right conclusions.

We are in for Khedira as according to rumours. What do you say about WC and CL winner according to Ozil?

I would swap podolski for howedes considering we spend on a quality left forward

Go for it, Mezut!! I believe he is a classy player, that can really make a difference in the team, PROVIDED HE IS PLAYED IN THE CAM position. Rambo and Jack are still growing into the role, he is already there. Together with Danny-boy, he can form an absolutely lethal partnership, because Danny runs great lines and Mezut can read them like no-one else. When Theo is back on the RW, it will be even better.
Watch this space – Mezut Özil will turn out to be Arsenal’s MVP this season.

Yes I think that when Walcott is back, Ozil will be sliding balls through the back of the defence with our speed merchants latching on… Can’t wait for Walcott to come back. Bleak he isn’t playing the spurs derby. He always tends to play well against them!

Not effective according to fans, however Ox may be can provide pace on the flanks.

Yes I’m a big fan of Ox on the wing. He showed for England a while back… Although I personally think Ox and Walcott play different styles. Walcott likes to run around and behind defenders, whereas Ox likes to receive the ball and run at defenders. this is probably why Wenger likes to play him more centrally at times.

Yes, its actually a mouth-watering prospect. I’m just holding thumbs we can go through a whole season with Ozil playing behind those three without any injuries… because we should be scoring goals for fun against any team if we can keep that formation!

Now what do I believe? “Some reports” are saying we’ve signed khedira on principle. Others are saying he’s ready to fight for his place and sign a new contract. Easy on the goods here, media bitch. We may be desperate as arsenal fans but that does not make us your dirt bag!!!

IAM NOT BEING NEGATIVE,BUT DIABY IS ONLY FOR TWO GAMRS BEFORE HE GET INJURED.HE IS PRONE TO BE CRASHED BY OPPONENTS. AS THEY ALL AWARE HOW FRAGILE HE COULD BE ON THE PITCH.THIS IS YHE RESON WHY HE SHOULD BUY KHEDIRA OR SCHNRLING,
I CAN’T UNDERSTAND WHY IT TAKE SO LONG FOR OUR PLAYERS. TO COME BACK FROM INKJURY.SOMETHING MUST BE WRONG WITH OUR PHYSIO AND DOCTORS.THEI R SYSTEM OF WORKING IS NOT UP TO DATE. SEND THE PLAYERS TO GERMANY OR USA WHERE LATEST EQUIPMENT IS AVAILABLE ., LOOK AT WALCOTT
TEN MONTHS NOW ,STILL NOT SURE. A TOTAL KNEE REPLACEMENT TAKE SIX WEEKS , OUR PLAYERS HAS A DAILY PHYSIO. MAY BE THE DOCTORS IS NOT UP TO DATE.
HOW COME CHELSEA HAS A DOCTOR ON THE BENCH AWAITING FOR ANY PROBLEM. THE DUTCH GUY SAID IT BEFORE,THE WAY ARSNAL TREAT THEIR INJURY PLAYERS IS TOTALLY WRONG.
NOW REGARDING MESUT ,HE IS A CLEVER PLAYER,HE CAN READ A PLAYER MOVEMEMT, JUST FOLLOW HIM, ONE OF THE PLAYERS WHO HAS DONE THAT, IS RONALDO .
