Arsenal’s second-string side got past Cologne in the Europa League last week, and if anything this Caraboa Cup game at home to Doncaster should be even easier. Cologne may have lost their opening four games in the Bundesliga, but Doncaster are two tiers below us in League One and have won just one game out of their opening eight League games. They did manage to beat Hull City in the last round of this competition but since then they have gone six games without a win. So surely Arsenal can field a much weaker team than even played last week.
Having said that I still expect the Gunners to put out a strong side. As Ospina is set to play all the Europa League games, Wenger could give Macey the place in this Cup. I have a feeling that Jack Wilshere will get his first start for over a year after his run out in the Cologne match as Iwobi played against Chelsea.
I also think this is the perfect chance for Reiss Nelson to get a chance to show his skills and he may play 45 minutes and swap with Alexis at half-time as the Chilean still seems to need more games to get his sharpness back. Walcott and Giroud are certain to play of course.

Our lack of cover in the fullback/wingback position should be a serious concern.
We have Monreal and Kolasinac on the left but at the moment both are starters when Monreal starts at LCB, they cant be expected to play every game? What happens if one of them gets injured?
Even more concerning, on the right, we basically only have Bellerin?
Maitland-niles has clearly been lined up as first choice cover for RB/LB judging by the fact he started in the Europa and Debuchy didn’t. Although I suspect if the tank is out monreal will switch out to LB with a CB coming in.
When one gets injured a CB will come into back three then Kol or Mon taking wingback.
Where is Chambers? Injured?
He should come in.
and what about Debuchy? whats the story with him? can we not let him have a game or two so we can sell him in January?
