Pick your Arsenal team to face Norwich tomorrow night

Going by Arsene Wenger’s team selections for Arsenal’s three Europa League games so far, with every one ending up with three points, it is very likely that he is going to stick with the same sort of lineup for tomorrow’s game against Norwich in the Caraboa Cup, which should not be too much harder than last weeks win in Serbia against Red Star.

We all know that Shkodran Mustafi [hamstring], Calum Chambers [hip], Santi Cazorla [ankle], Danny Welbeck and David Ospina [both groin) are definitely unavailable, but the team that faced Red Star will not need many changes at all, especially as Jack Wilshere only had a cameo role against Everton so should be fine to play tomorrow.

Obviously with Ospina injured Wenger will have to choose between Cech and Macey, and I think he will go with the youngster for the League Cup games. Debuchy, El Neny and Holding must have gained a little confidence in last weeks game so they should be staying as the back line, and the rest of the fringe players would pick themselves, so my starting XI would look like this….

Macey
Debuchy, Elneny, Holding
Nelson, Coquelin, Willock, Maitland-Niles
Walcott, Wilshere, Giroud

It is questionable as to whether Norwich will be a tougher game than any of our Europa League opponents, so I really can’t see Wenger changing a winning formula, especially in a home tie.

Would you make any changes to this Arsenal line-up?

  1. I hope Nelson is not right wingback again, it’s not his best position.
He should playing further forward as he does in the under 23s.

  2. instead of wedlock, I’d put iwobi where wilshere is and push wilshere further back to play the Ramsey role

  3. Cech
    Holding Mertesacker Dasilva
Debuchy Elneny Wilshere Monreal/Kolasinac (1/2 each)
    Nelson Giroud Iwobi

I want to win this CUP!!!!

  4. OT: Those clamoring for Ronald Koeman for Arsenal Manager’s job now finally have their way. Congrats guy……(first remember to compare results of AW’s achievements in the last 4 seasons to Koman, Pochitino, etc……big investments every season – zero trophies). Lesson: Learn to appreciate what you have even if you want a bit more….get behind your team.

    1. What are you talking about????

So Koeman’s been sacked from Everton, has he been appointed manager of Arsenal, and no one knows yet, even Wenger and Koeman! I guess only you know this news lol.

      1. Arsene Out Brigade have been certain of coaches who would do better than Wenger and should have replaced him. Among names bandied in the recent past include:
        Jurgen Klopp
        Ronald Koeman
        Roberto Martinez
        Thomas Tuchel
This is to metion but a few. They all have one thing in common: None have achieved close to what Wenger has and have quite recently flopped at big/relatively big jobs.

        1. I’m aware of all the managers who’ve been linked to Arsenal, but Lexynal says “OT: Those clamoring for Ronald Koeman for Arsenal Manager’s job now finally have their way”. That’s saying Koeman has the Arsenal job, which he doesn’t.

          1. Mourinho got sacked for flirting with disaster, it’s not the first time he was sacked either which is why he hates Wenger. Fergie was in a relegation scrap and was one result from getting the sack at the beginning of his Manu job. For every yin you’ll find a yang.

  5. Macey
    Debuchy Holding Elneny
    Nelson coquelin wilshire niles
    Walcott Giroud iwobi

  6. Before the game it seemed just about everyone took a chip a swipe at Arsene’s line-up. Now all of a sudden they mostly very calmly detail like it’s black and white.

    ………………Cech
    ….Debuchy..Mert..Holding
    Iwobi….Elneny..Wilshere…Coquelin
    …………Nelson……Walcott
    ……………..Giroud

Second half I’d like to see Alexis and one or two others depending on score. I’d move Wilshere further forward too and give Niles some time in the centre.
