Please, please, Arsenal – Go and get Golovin….

Aleksandr Golovin has been one of the best players in this year world cup so far. With his country Russia having played two matches ( both of which they won ) he already has one goal and two assists to his name. He was linked with a move to Arsenal when Wenger was in charge with scouts regularly following his progress, but since the Frenchman left nothing was said about his potential signing until recently.

Golovin, 22, is primarily a central midfielder but can also play as an attacking midfielder and as the left sided midfielder in 4-4-2 ( and it variations ). If he joins Arsenal, he will be expected to compete with Ramsey for a starting shirt in Arsenal’s midfield. He has also been linked with Juventus who are said to have already opened talks for his signature.

Juventus if you ask me have the best chance of signing him. The Italian wanted Ramsey and with they shifting their attention to Golovin, it means they probably have admitted defeat in their pursuit of Aaron Ramsey which to me is good news for Arsenal.

Let’s face it, Aaron Ramsey is a key player for Arsenal and unless Xhaka is getting sold this summer, we will not have space for Golovin and even if Xhaka gets sold and we all of a sudden need Golovin I doubt we can afford him. We reportedly have only 70m plus the money raised from players’ sales this summer and with Torreira looking like a done deal, Bernd Leno already signed and Sokratis Papastathopoulos seemingly in the bag already, Arsenal will not have the money to sign a luxury player like Golovin this summer.

If he was a left winger maybe Gazidis would have sanctioned the move for him but he is a central midfielder and we have enough of that at the moment. What we need desperately is a wide-forward or a left winger. Despite signing Mkhitaryan as part of the Sanchez deal, we still need a left sided winger. Many will point to Danny Welbeck but in my opinion, the Ghana born English attacker is better off leaving Arsenal this summer.

I am sincerely hoping and praying that Welbeck has a good world cup so we can sell him for good money and spend the money on a proper winger/striker. Someone like Hirving Lozano would make a lot of sense. He is a bit of a hot head – he has 8 red cards so far in his career and he is just 22-years-old, but Robin Van Persie was also a hot head, Rooney was as well. The best players are often not easy to manage and Emery will have known that from his time at PSG.

But wouldn’t we love to get Golovin?

  1. I agree with ur conclusions, but rhe head of ur article is completly the opposite of ur conclusions. I conmit u to check the date of ur pills bro

  2. You do know that they played against an awful team Saudi Arabia and an out of form average team in egypt.. please don’t overhype players

    1. NO WAY!! i’ve been hearing about this kid since he was 18 has few good patches now and then and people call him a superstar, definetly not needed and elneny could do something he cant do and that’s defend. plus he’s injured so why are we even mentioning him.

on a different topic monaco had bagged one hell of a youngster from lyon geubbels tall strong and good on the ball for 17.5 mil , now that’s banking on a kid he’s just 16 and looks so mature for his age.

wish we could do the same and drop the same amout on pietro pelligrini we do need a future target man , and he will be worth so much money in a couple of years looks so so promising and is doing very well at genoa. yes i know it won’t happen since we need starters at the moment not future talent and especially one upfront, but I have top say it, damn you monaco and dortmund stop buying future talent and give us a few!!

to be real i’m happy with the way things are going at the club, can’t wait to see us playing.

  3. He’s just “okay” type of player . Your title seams to be talking about a world class player.

  4. Winger – Bernard on a free

But some non homegrown players might have to be sold, though it’s not desperate. I would sell Cech and ospina, which could recoup half of what we have spent on. Leno, allowing macey, iliev and Martinez to battle it out for the cup keeper role, with one to be loaned out, most likely iliev or martinez. This will help to fulfil our 8 homegrown spots.
Perez and Campbell are looking likely to make way too. Which would free up the space required for a proper winger like Bernard or martins, or both and may be pull in another 10m.
As for the homegrown players as I have said loan out one of the 3 keepers, whilst Jenkinson, bramall and akpom, might pull us in another 5m?
Those 7 player sales could give Emery about 20-25m to add to his budget. And leave space for the recruits required.
8 homegrown – Martinez, macey, bellerin, holding, chambers, Ramsey, iwobi, welbeck
17 Non-homegrown – Leno, Leichinstener, Monreal, kolasinac, Sokratis, mustafi, koscielny, elneny, mkhitaryan, ozil, torreira, aubameyang, lacazette + up to 4 more.

  5. I would prefer we get Malcom from bordeaux to play RW if we can afford him. He is very similar to douglas costa, pacy, strong, good dribbling skills and has a thunderous long distance shot

  6. Lugdush I’m with u on this totally off point from the heading, and pls we should stop calling xhaka “rubbish” cos he was a better player in his former club. Wenger turned our good players to rubbish. Now we have a new coach I expect most players to improve…

Our focus should be on clearing some dead hoods like welbeck, Perez, Campbell etc to raise some cash for the purchase of a left footed winger since Emery is allowed to use any cash raised from player sales.

    1. Okay you think Emery is a magician, please let’s be realistic,Xhaka is just not good, I’ve been watching him for years and I don’t know what he is good at,Xhaka should be thrown out of this club but unfortunately he has just signed a new contract and that makes my blood boil

  7. I don’t like xhaka because he wasn’t suited to our gameplan and wenger still played him every game. But i have the feeling he will play better this season if emery plays the midfield 3 like he did at psg with small fast agressive dm Torreira, Deep-lying playmaker xhaka and box to box ramsey. Thats 3 players in their correct positions which never happened under wenger. Plus emery adapts his line-up to teams so if he thinks xhaka is not suited for a certain match like liverpool with their pressing he will replace him instead of letting him get the crap beaten out of him.

    1. Also with ozil and mkhitaryan as attacking midfielders they have less defensive responsibilities which will make ozil much better since he doesn’t have the stamina to cover the whole midfield week after week and mkhi who alternates between all-action midfielder and lazy midfielder will also benefits.

  8. he is average, we have had enough of them . Lets play Ainsley and improve his short passes
mabey buy in january .. pulicic fx.

    1. @ Ozilking just because others have got a different opinion on an issue gives you no right to say they are senseless. You kinda sound senseless yourself for making such a statement you know.

  9. Unai Emery I’m very thankful for his appointment a new era has begin gone are the dinosaur days under Wenger but we have a rebuilding process in motion so patience we will have to be for a season or 2
