Ray Parlour betting on Arsenal to beat Tottenham! So Am I….

Ray Parlour, Arsenal legend turned TV Pundit, is looking forward to next weekend’s North London Derby, and although he knows that Spurs are in great form he still believes the Gunners can take all three points away from White Hart Lane.

He told SportLobster: “Who’s coming out on top in the North London derby? Be honest now. Tottenham are in great form. Eriksen and Kane have been in top form.

“Arsenal are also playing really well. There’s a great competition for places at the club. I honestly believe it will be a tough game but Arsenal will win. We’ve got a decent record at White Hart Lane. I would put money on Arsenal.”

This game is going to be a very hard game for neutrals to predict, while all us Arsenal fans KNOW we are going to win lol, because on form there is little to choose between them. Both clubs have only lost once in the last 7 EPL games and the Gunners are only two points above their rivals in the title race. But even though Spurs are at home, the bookies are making Arsenal favourites to win at 6/5, while the Spuds are a best-priced 5/2, which surprised me to be honest. I know we were awesome in the 2-0 win over Man City, but Spurs also demolished Chelsea 5-3 at home. I personally would be happy with a draw to sustain our lead in the table, and that can be backed at 11/4. If you are intending to have a bet I suggest you check out to ensure you get the best bonus offers from bookies before parting with your cash!

The Gunners are unbeaten in our last four PL games against Spurs, which may help explain the prices, but Tottenham defended like hell at the Emirates earlier this season and managed to leave with a point, despite Arsenal’s domination of the game. At home they will have to come at us to try and win the game, which may just play into our counter-attacking hands.

So I agree with Ray. Arsenal are going to mash those Spuds!

This game could end up 4-3 to gooners just cannot see this game being without a lot of goals both teams score goals but i think we have that extra bit of quality that will see us over the line will be a massive win for us and will keep the good run going!

i’d be upset if we conceded 3.
we need to not concede in 1st 20 mins.
      be professional & not naive.

Lloris has been in great form all season battling it out with Countior (sp) and De Gea for best goolie so far in the EPL.

He did frustrate us at the Emirates though we didn’t have as much options up front. Our defense has been pretty solid too lately I don’t see us letting in more than 2 goals in a single match.

2 : 1 to the winner (Arsenal ofcourse), OG and Sanchez should he play or Carzola and Kane for spurs.

1st goal is crucial for this tie.

Lemme go out of topic for a sec. our uncelebrated hero is Ramsey.dont know how but his unnoticeable presence do impact on our performance. look at it this way, last season we started so well with him on form,he gets injured we collapse. he returns and we challenge for the top four and he won us the FA cup with his goal. This season we get the community shield with him scoring a beauty. His form slightly goes down and gets some few knocks until late December. i dont want to take anything from cazorla,he has wonderful.but ozil got injured on early October and santi shone on Dec. Now Ramsey is getting a run of games and see what we doing. he is not scoring as much as last season but I believe that his presence in the mid,the controls, the passing is giving cazorla freedom to do his magic as well as the whole team looking so organized. This boy has some charm I tell you,.and personally,a game with Ramsey playing is a game won. we have ospina, coquelin, ozil, cazorla, walcott and sanchez having the games of their lives,,but Aaron is my man currently.

In that case, you can as well put in a word for Nacho. Because in the last ten games in which he has started Arsenal has won them all!

But sadly it is not so. The combined effort of the team, and not one player, is responsible for this glorious run…. And long may it continue. COYG

    I’m betting £50 on Arsenal

We have the best squad selection we’ve had for ages. Other than Debuchy and Arteta. Coquelin is better than Arteta. Bellerin is doing an admirable job for Debuchy. I hope they get better soon but we are in good hands

    Available for Spurs
    GK: Ospina, Szczesny, Martinez
Def: Koscielny, Mertsacker, Paulista, chambers, Bellerin, monreal, Gibbs, Hayden
Midfielders: Coquelin, Flamini, Ramsey, Rosicky, Cazorla, Walcott, Sanchez, Ozil, Gnabry, Zelalem
    Strikers: Giroud, Welbeck, Akpom

    Arteta, Debuchy, Wilshere, Diaby

Not Known Yet: Could be available
    Sanchez and Ox

tough chance…if we had sign a proper DM like Wanayama and a quality striker…

we would definitely stand a chance…

at this stage a hard fought draw

      1. YingYang69

Im guessing that @rahman is one of those superstitious fans who believes if he comes out saying Arsenal will win, would put the mockers on it. If im wrong well then jazuz give it a rest.

It will be a cracker as both teams are in great form and priceless 3 points at stake for the race to top 4.

Crucial game for us as dropping 3 points will mean spurs will push as down with pool breathing down our necks. United has an relatively easier fixture for the next 5 games and the saints and city been abit unpredictable maintaining our winning streak is vital.

Total discipline, determination, hunger to win and please remember not to play the high line or concede early or concede at all again.

    Key battles:
    – Le Coq vs Ericksen
    – Ramsey or whoever plays vs Dembele
    – Sanchez and OG vs Lloris
    – Kos vs Kane

Winner takes all for this one, hope all our players turn up once again.

@muda, chelsea & city would have to lose twice in a row, with us winning spuds and the next match to even start dreaming of the title.

  7. almostawinner

there’s more pressure on spuds than us to win since they’re at home. lets sit back at the 40yd line, and counter. its been working. dont break it.

I think we always have the psychological advantage over spurs… Just like when we played man utd (as much as I hate to say it) you could see that we weren’t mentally tough enough to think we could win, although we had the skill to win.

I feel this is the same feeling that spurs get, we have the psychological advantage… and in this case, better players in my opinion!

  9. Twig

I think Wenger will be tempted to play this

    _______Sanchez Ozil Walcott
    _________Coquelin Cazorla
    Monreal Koscielny Mertesacker Bellerin

    1. Redsoldier

Dont see wenger playing that at all. Wenger is smart enough to know that the Coq ramsey and carzola midfield partership is working wonders both defensively and offensively….it has the right balance. So why change something that is not broken. That is currently our engine.

  10. cescyfab4

Our attack is looking hungry, formidable and clinical.

Tottenham have an average defense. But in Hugo Lloris they have a one-man-defense. I think his performance could prove very pivotal.

A situation where you have a goalie clawing away at everything you throw at him can be damned frustrating.. Especially when you are able to slice through the men in front of him. I hope Hugo doesn’t get too inspired…

Coquelin shielding Eriksen.. And cutting off his supplies to Harry.K will be very important as well.

Hope at the end of the day, itz a gunners win!

Just make sure that our The Coq dies not give away free kicks around our penalty area, he have away 2 in exactly the same area against Villa.. If we give them that privilege then Eriksen will mash them free kicks in..

The NLD makes me nervous but if we can keep Eriksen quiet then I can’t see Spuds troubling us. The Coq did a magnificent job on the most dangerous n10 in the league (Silva). So I don’t see why he can’t do the same on a much inferior Eriksen..

But as. We all know, the NLD is won by the most committed and up for it team. Hope it will be us again.

After spuds we have a fairly nice run of games, in the league anyway. Home to Leicester, away to Palace, home to Everton, away to QPR and then home to West Ham with an F.A Cup tie against Middlesbrough and of course the UCL first leg against Monaco. Out of those league games we should win at least 4/5, we probably could afford a draw against Spuds but I think we should have enough to win. Imagine winning all of those games? It would be looking like a fantastic season after all, we must stay focused and keep on with what we are doing.

There is not much I can disagree with our true legend Ray Parlour. He is ever an Arsenal supporter whatever the circumstances. That’s what a true legend is. Putting loyalties aside, I believe Parlour has critically assessed the two teams and come up with his conclusion. Whereas it is true last time around it was a draw that was the period of Arsenal’s struggles which we should not base on to make our assessment. Even then Arsenal dominated the game but failed to make anything out of it which I believe will not be the case this time. If Tottenham attempts the tactics used to defeat Chelsea against Arsenal it will be the surest way for Tottenham to lose the game with a big margin. I have a strong feeling that this is what they will try to do and end up exposing themselves to counter attack. The Arsenal team Spurs will meet on Saturday is a new look Arsenal and the fact that it is against Spurs will actually spur on Arsenal players! The spirits of both teams will be high as will be the intensity of the game which will suit Arsenal perfectly.

With no bias at all (well not much) I have to go with an Arsenal win.

Although Spurs are in a rich vein of form, so to are Arsenal, and we have better quality all over the pitch, with perhaps exception to the ‘keeper. Plus we have a much stronger bench.

Arsenal to win 1-2 or maybe 1-3.
