I did write a piece on our website the other day playing down those reports, or wildly imagined rumours, about the Arsenal and Spain international star which suggested that Santi Cazorla had suffered some kind of setback to his recovery from an achilles problem which may have ended his playing career.
There was no evidence for this and a club spokesman said they were not aware of any setback even though they could not say when the Spaniard would be fit to play again. The player himself must have heard of all this as well, because this week he posted a picture of himself looking happy as he got back to some gym work on the road to his return to the Arsenal team, as reported by The Mirror.
Unfortunately we are not going to have the little magician back any time soon but the report reckons it will be in December and that could be the best early christmas present that Arsene Wenger and the Arsenal fans ever get. We have got used to every season tailing off after the festive period, only for the Gunners to finish strongly but nowhere near the champions, but getting Cazorla back around the halfway point could be just the boost we need to avoid this annual event.

Let’s forget about Carzola for now, Let’s focus on younger players that would be there for 5-6 years. Santi is 30+ and no guarantee he won’t go back injured after coming back, or plays to his maximum form. I would suggest we get an Enforcer in the Midfield to replace Patrick Viera, which is Fabinho of Monaco. He can Tackle, Intercept play, Wins a lot of Aerial Duels, He’s strong and powerful,He can Block, Clearance, Can Create Chances, Assist and score goals too. He can also play in the defence RB or even others. Xhaka-Fabinho paring would make our midfield solid. We won’t be bullied in the Midfield again.
Funny how arsenal fan continue to demand for a midfielder every summer, first Coquelin was introduced, we said not good enough, El Neny followed, not good enough, Xhaka not good enough, if Calvarho or Fabinho is bought, after one season I bet you, so many arsenal fan will demand for another midfielder as early as January. Stop complaining, we don’t need to buy anyone again since we can’t really find them in the market as we can promote our very own. The likes of Nwakali, Toral, Adelaide has to be given the chance to prove themselves especially the former.
Listen to yourself, you know coquelin is not good enough to rely on, he’s good enough for depth in squad, Xhaka was almost becoming a flop until Wenger changed a system that suits him. Ramsey on the other hand will not guarantee you 30 games because he will definitely go injured. but Fabinho is much better than William Carvalho, please check Squawka.com for their statistics. with Fabinho- xhaka our midfield would be solid.
But Coquelin is not good enough (with all due respect to Coquelin). He is fine off the bench but we need a better defensive Midfielder of similar quality to Kante, Matic like Carvalho or Gueye
As for Xhaka, his £35 million price tag gives me hope he will be an awesome addition but we should still look for a young Cazorla type player who can also cover Ozil
Eleny is ok as a squad player. But generally you get what you pay for. He cost £5 million. Exceptions for guys like Holding (£2 million) and free transfers
So we could actually use 2 more central Midfielders
Cazorla and Rosicky … irreplaceable!
Players like Cazorla and Rosicky are hard to find top quality, i really miss Rosicky.

A magician like santi will always have a positive impact on our team. You can’t replace players like him.
Some fans are always bluffing about Coq. not good enuff, do yourself a favor.. Check his stat so far as a defensive midfielder on google, stats don’t lie.. The guy is a beast but the only problem our team is having is, after Coq. who else is running after the opponent to mark opponents down…. Maybe Sanchez atimes.. . No other teams play like that.. Our problem is not buying him for a huge price, he had a dip in form last season taken, it can happen to anyone.. Even we make him an object of mockery to the media ourselves.. When all we say is he’s not good enough.
Wizard is right coq is a very good player in this position. I think we are forgetting how well he did when he returned from loan to save our arse. He marked silver out of a came and went toe to toe with fillani dispite having a mask on and being deliberately elbowed in the face. He is a warrior and prepared to come off the bench when needed. santi my favourite player …..wenger should be applauded for bringing in players like rosicky and cazorla to asrenal …but you call luck or whatever..they frequently get injured
