Serie A club CONFIRMS Arsenal transfer target talks?

This one of many Arsenal transfer rumours will simply not go away and every time we hear about a new piece of the puzzle it suggests that Arsene Wenger really is very interested in the young Argentina born striker Paulo Dybala, dubbed by some as the new Sergio Aguero, due to his attributes and scoring prowess.

The Gunners were linked with the 21-year old back in the summer and then again in the run up to, during and even after the January transfer window. And then a week or so ago it was being reported that Arsenal were in talks with his current club Palermo from Serie A as we tried to sort out a deal to bring the talented forward to the Emirates in the summer.

The latest, as reported by Metro, is that the Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has officially confirmed that transfer talks are ongoing, although it seems that we are not the only interested party.

The Italian supremo said, “I’m speaking directly to the presidents of the teams interested in England.

“There is a lot of interest, the player is very good and we’ll try to find an agreement.”

And it is not just our Premier League rivals Chelsea and Man United that are keen on Dybala apparently, as he is said to be interesting some other top clubs around Europe, including the reigning Champions League holders Real Madrid.

So even if the rumours are true, how likely is it that Arsenal will win the race for this coveted young striker?

    1. Not quite my friend. Yesterdays showing illustrates WE NEED STRIKERS and ATTACKING MIDEFILEDERS WHO CAN WORK HARD AROUND THE OPPONENTS BOX.

      – Wellbeck has his good moments but I AM GENUINELY BEGINNING TO FEEL HE WONT CUT IT AS A FINISHER. Unfortunately, this will be his last chance at a big club to prove himself
      – Ozil: WE NEED TO CUT OUR LOSSES HERE AND SELL HIM OR BENCH HIM
      – Giroud has his moments but WILL NEVER EVER RELY ON HIM FOR CONSISTENCY.

Still have not gotten over the wreckage ate the Emirates. UNFORTUNATELY THIS WILL NOT BE THE LAST OF SUCH PERFORMANCES FROM THIS TEAM, TRUST ME.

As for WENGER HE NEEDS TO SIT DOWN AND DECIDE WHETHER TO MAKE THE NECESSARY CHANGES TO THE TEAM OR CONTINUE TO FACE SUCH HUMILIATION.

FRANKLY I WILL NOT BE SURPRISED IF WE DROP OUT OF TOP 4 THIS SEASON DESPITE THE CURRENT POSITION THEY OCCUPY

  1. Nowhere does it state in that ‘piece’ that the Palermo president specifically mentions Arsenal, nowhere!

Just ‘some english clubs’, Swansea perhaps?

Wenger will be far too busy making up for his and his teams dismal display against a second string Monaco team..

  2. Not really seen this guy play but after last night anyone has to be better than giroud and welbeck.

Giroud at least makes the correct runs and gives our MF somethng to aim at, shame he cant finish, but Welbeck offers exactly nothing, he has no idea where the space is, runs and stands in completely the wrong places often getting in others way. Its not surprising that walcott was onf or 25 minutes and got in behind twice, yet welbeck played 90 and did not once.

Also i do not know how anyone has not bought this up but gibbs is an awful LB and theres a reason that we have been much more solid since monreal got a run. Gibbs is the worst lb from a positioonal sense i have ever seen at the top level. H has no idea when to go forward and when to hold back and whenever he gets the ball he simply lays it back anyway. Lucky not to be lambasted for his performance last night ismply because it was overshadowed by Giroud and merts inability

  3. Meanwhile, Arsneal released another fu*king documentary for the Invinsibles. Wake up from the history for fu*k’s sake.

  4. Yes Giroud missed chances last night but a striker would not be my priority.
A top class DM and a CB with balls, organisational skills and a voice! Do you think the likes of Vidic, Terry and Ferdinand would have allowed everyone to wander off up field later in the game? No is the answer.
As Wenger said heart over brain last night, did the players not realise this was only round 1?
    Ludicrous.

    Per your sh*te!

  5. we are third tier in Europe now. lost 3-1 to a third tier European team.
drew 3-3 at home with a fourth tier European team (Anderlecht)
and haven’t reached quarter finals in 6 years we are third tier team now
and this third tier who beat us today was missing HALF there team
sorry but dont care about fourth place anymore

    1. Wenger kept Ozil on though for 90 mins while he strolled around like a little boy who was looking for his mummy though didn’t HE?!

Players of course have responsibility, but managers of football teams have to sell or sub them when they don’t perform. After all it is HE who selects, signs, motivates, manages, directs and nurtures isn’t it?

      (Some computer logic)

      IF answer is = YES
      Then OUTPUT ‘Wenger is responsible’
      ELSE if answer = NO
Then OUTPUT ‘keep your head in the sand and hope everything will just be OK’

  6. WHO GIVES A FLYING FCUK ABOUT TRANSFERS LESS THAN 24 HOURS AFTER ANOTHER HUMILIATING PERFORMANCE. LETS START TALKING ABOUT REAL ISSUES HERE LIKE WENGER OUT!!!!!!!!!

  7. And for the 3rd goal. Ospina should have done better. He could have stopped it. The shot was from a tight angle and he had time for the save. Also he got his hand on the ball i think, just did not reach it fully. Poor goalkeeping . Should we be worried about our new No.1 too ??

    1. Yes we should be. The keepers have don’t instill confidence me personally at all.

Lets steal Lloris from spurs if we can. Now that’s a golie worthy be wear our number 1 jersey right there.

  8. I was furious about the monaco game, but i dont care anymore. we would been beaten in the next round anyways, no matter who we got they would have knocked us out. lets face it while wenger is here, we cant go even to the top8 in the CL. wenger just doesnt have a clue about the Cl knockout stages. and manu will kick us out from FAcup i’ll guarantee, because every time we face them, they win. just like chelsea, and just like anyone in the CL knockout stages. wenger and the team are DESERVED it, and they should be worry about it, not us. but im just f..in pissed off right now

  9. Arsenals sustainable franchise model
requires at least 4th place EPL
    and last 16 ECL.
ECL last 16 has been achieved.
Arsenal lie 3rd in the EPL and with the best
remaining schedule is very likely to achieve EPL top 4.
    Job done?
Bonus already achieved is the community shield.
FA cup remains at least a 50 /50 chance.
ECL quarters is still possible but unlikely.
All this despite a huge injury toll and several
key players performing well below their best.
May be we are being too tough on players and management?

  10. @galen. Spot on, I really felt for Wenger in his post match conference. I truly believe he spent all week prepping the team mentally for the game only for them to bottle it.
The game passed them by when at 1-0 it needed someone to take the reigns and lead vocally on the pitch no one stepped up. We desperately need a captain and leader and that man is not Per for sure. The sooner he moves to a Championship/League 1 side the better!

  11. After last night we need several players
    1. Lacazette, Falcao or Dybala
    2. Schneiderlin or Kondogbia
    3. Vidal, Pogba, Bender or Gundogan
    4. Hummels, Ramos or Howedes

  12. even with messi, bale, suarez, christiano, rooney, zlatan..wenger wl stl get 4th and ucl last 16 🙁 🙁 🙁
    I am soo sad 🙁

  13. arsene wenger , the professor of consistency , lol . he takes us right to the last 16 , and then its adios . he is a prof indeed .
