Reading through the sport headlines this morning, I came a across a particular interesting story which says Ray Parlour, an Arsenal legend wishes to see Antoine Griezmann in an Arsenal shirt! Let’s face it Ray Parlour wouldn’t be alone in wanting to see Antoine Griezmann at Arsenal. However, as much as our former midfielder would like to see Griezmann join us from Atletico Madrid, he doubts the likelihood of the Gunners signing him ahead of Chelsea and Manchester United.
Actually attracting Griezmann to Arsenal is something Parlour feels would be possible but the wages offered from Premier League rivals could trump what we could or would offer, and we may miss out on signing him. Parlour was quoted by talkSPORT as saying: “I would love to see them buy Griezmann. But it comes down to the wages.”
Wages apparently determines who the players sign for, according to Parlour. “These kind of players come to the Premier League but they don`t worry about the team they play for, they worry about the wages. Griezmann will look at it and see if Manchester United is interested or if Chelsea can maybe offer more.” He opined.
Gooners, I think Parlour is right that some players will be looking for a payday ahead of anything else but Griezmann might not be one of them. If Arsenal could compete with Premier League rivals for the fee the 25 year old will command, maybe we could sign him and what a coup will that be, if we can grab him next season and unleash him on the likes of Chelsea. We are no doubt in need of a world class striker who can guarantee us loads of goals and assists. Chelsea has Diego Costa, Man –city has Sergio Aguero, Manchester united has Zlatan Ibrahimovic and even spurs has Harry Kane! These players are the reasons why we seem to win games against these teams, why can’t we have a striker like Griezmann to strike fear into the minds of the defenders of opponents?
That being said everything tends to stack up against Arsenal bringing the French international to the club but if they really want him, then they just have to be aggressive with their bid and show that they can compete against the big teams. We need to stop being a sleeping giant and showing the world we mean business, especially for next season. So, who else wishes to see Antoine Griezmann wear the red and white of this great club, and should Arsenal break the bank to get him?

Sylvester, while Antoine Griezmann is a top striker at Atletico Madrid and scoring goals there until his recent dry spell, we should also remind ourselves that Arsenal currently have a top quality striker in the footballer of Alexis Sanchez whose 17 PL goals this season is only rivalled by Harry Kane and Romelu Lukaku who are the current three joint top scorers on 17 goals in the PL so far this season.
While I will not be against the signing of Griezman by Arsenal in the Summer if they believe he’s the right striker for them, I think it will be better if they look for a younger striker who has a great potential of regular goalscoring to the older Griezman to sign and develop him in the Arsenal way of playing.
What should be of immediate importance to us now is for Sanchez to up his game at Anfield away to Liverpool on Saturday evening and score a brace for Arsenal in that big game. And also give assists for 2 more goals in addition to the brace he’ll be scoring in a 0-4 away win for Arsenal which will put Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool dreams of a 4th place finish in the table this season seriously in doubt..

First I don’t think we would pay the money needed to pry him away. We don’t even want to pay Sanchez so why would we want to pay Griezman? He surely would not come for less than 250’000/week.
Secondly, he would cost north of 80 million which would be above our budget.
Thirdly, he would only move to a bigger club and Arsenal are not (unless he follows Simeoni perhaps).
Fourthly, Wenger would not know what to do with him and would convert him to a DM 😉
There’s rumours that he has already (verbally) agreed to join Utd.

we can break or bomb a bank, but Griezmann will never come to Arsenal. with Pep at City, Chelsea are winning games for fun and are rich, Man U with Mou and Ibra and their money, then there is us, with Wenger and Sanogo still in the club, we know what option there is automatically cancelled out, one of the remaining 3 can get him

If he comes to Arsenal, the only difference will be Arsenal scoring more goals per season but the end result will be the same. Same deficiency defensively will catch us out. I’m not blaming the defence here alone but midfielder and attackers defending as well.
In other words if he comes to Arsenal he will be made into a 4th place type player by Wenger. Going out in last 16, out of title race in February etc.

According to an exclusive report from CalcioMercato, Max Allergri has been telling his friends that he will manage Arsenal next season.
The report goes on to suggest that the Juventus boss was determined to win as much as he could with the Serie A champions and then switch to North London in the summer.
It seems the 49-year-old was out having dinner with friends when he let go of this huge update, with one of his guests immediately blabbing to the press.
(This news is doing the rounds, as you read this.)
I seriously hope this is true and exactly the kind of ambition the club needs to show.
I honestly believe we have a pretty decent squad of players who could challenge for the league under a younger, more motivated, more inspiring manager with fresh ideas, i.e. someone like Allegri.
Furthermore, if this is true, I hope Juve win the CL this year, so he comes to England with more confidence and the players, especially someone like Sanchez will have more belief in him, and will also play a part in attracting world class players.
I wouldn’t bank on it just yet. One story says Arsene has a two year contract on table while another says Allegri blabbed to his friends without anything signed. Which is more plausible. Unless Arsene has told them to look for a new manager this could be a fabricated story, or it could be Allegri angling for better terms.

If we could sort out our wage structure we could rival those clubs allot more effectively. The trouble is getting squad players to agree to wage cuts, that won’t happen so we’ll need to let contracts run down instead. If we did have the wages for Greizmann he’d probably join us as himself and Wenger already look to be on good terms.

Plus side to this could be Lacazette, he will be less than Griezmann while having a better goal to game ratio, 27 goals in 31 games so far? Rumors are that Lyon will be looking to sell for the right price and he has attributes which could allow a very fluid front 3, like Griezmann would as well.
If the board is happy with Wenger then I got to ask myself, why isn’t Wenger jumping at signing the contract?
He has said he will manage next season so why would he doubt that it would be at Arsenal? If it was for the money alone then why not run off to China like he has rumored to have been offered a job?
An answer pops into my head and I can not dismiss it.
He does want to win and he wants the board to now step up their ambitions.
If he is good enough or not doesn’t pop into this, he will think he is what is best and he is good enough. The board appear to think he is good enough with offering new contracts.
IF this is the case then our bigger stars leaving if he leaves might be enough to see more spending, enough to please Wenger and to retain the clubs valuable assets. Maybe not Griezmann price but a Lacazette along with maybe a Rabiot who Wenger has wanted for a while… or another proven CM to give us more of a spine.
