Should we allow Arsenal midfielder to join PL champions?

Leicester City are claimed to be eyeing a move to sign Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from Arsenal this summer.

The 22 year-old has come under fire this season, having failed to impress on the pitch between picking up injuries, and has been linked with the exit door.

Arsenal are believed to be willing to sell the former Southampton product, and Gunners fans have also made it clear that the majority would be keen to see the back of him, but I don’t approve.

The Ox has struggled with injury this term, and I believe he has struggled to get going, but he has shown he is capable of better previously, and I also believe that missing the entire pre-season schedule can play a huge part in a players struggles.

Lets not forget that the midfielder is only 22 years-old (I know it feels like he should be 27), and is still only in the early stages of his career.

I have said it before, and I am saying it again, I would love for Chamberlain to go out on loan for a season and find some form, as I’m certain he will prove himself if given a full year at another club.

Admittedly, Alex will have his work cut-out to break into the Arsenal in the future, with Alex Iwobi having added to the list of players ahead of him in the pecking order, but I still don’t think it is time to cut our losses just yet.

Leicester City are looking to bring experience to their side, with their first ever Champions League campaign coming up next term, as well as an attempt to defend their first ever Premier League title win.

Should we simply sell the Ox, do you favour a loan deal, or should we simply sell with a buy-back option included?

  1. As bad as a season Chamberlin just had it would be a shame if he left before Walcott. I take it we trying for Mahrez and that would be great if we are. Perfect for the RW slot but we would still need that ST to challenge Giroud at a minimum…

    1. Exactly. Ox is just 22 and has bags of talent. Some fans forget he played every game last season prior to his injury because was in good form at that time.

Walcott (and others) however, has had plenty of time to find his way in the starting lineup but it has not worked reliably. I would rather put Ox or Campbell on the pitch any day.

I say keep Ox so long as his health looks good. And then let Ramsey either EARN his way on the pitch, serve as a squad player, or find a home elsewhere if he wants full time 1st team play.

Of course, as with most players, if some club is willing to pay a ridiculously high transfer fee for Ox…….. that would be tough to resist.

      1. Walcott should be let go but in all honesty, i prefer he goes to a non-premier league side. I dont want to see him click with the type pf play of say Leicester or Liverpool and we start regretting our decision to sell. But then again, i dont see any team outside the premier league going for him. I was a Theo fan and defended him for years but even now, i have no strength to keep believing afater ten years he will suddenly get better.

Is anyone thinking of possibly going in for “Memphis Depay”. I am of the opinion that he plays the Arsenal type of game and hence why he has fallen out of favour at Man Utd. But the fact that he is from Man Utd gives me a bad taste in my mouth

  2. Are you sure that they want the Ox?
I read that Leicester were interested in Walcott! ?
As part of the deal involving Mahrez.

    1. I don’t know where these ideas germinate I really don’t …Ranieri has said he wants hard working committed players not wandering whippets who make the occasional dart fall over and demand 140 grand for the performance …it takes a really stupid manager to accept that and I don’t think Ranieri is that

  3. Ox is still a potential super star, he has the talent needed to succeed….i will rather release that useless walcot to leicester and get mayrez…..but if leicester insists on geting ox in exchange for mayrez, then d fate of d deal will now depend on if Ox is interested in switching to d other side…….ox on his day is world class, deadly and explosive…..community shield game and fa cup match against man utd last season are proof of his class

    1. Arsenal should simply offload Ox if the right offer comes and sign Isco instead of Mahrez.
