Stoke v Arsenal Betting Preview – Can the Gunners build on opening win?

Arsenal take on Stoke at the Brittania Stadium this weekend in the second game of the season, and the Gunners have always found it hard going up there so I am surprised to find that the Gunners are as short as 4/5 with Coral to win the game, although the Gunners showed great fighting spirit to get a dramatic late win over Leicester last week.

Stoke have had many comings and goings over the summer, and they were maybe a little rusty last week when they got beaten by a Wayne Rooney winner at Goodison Park and with this being their first home game the price of 10/3 for them to win is maybe a bit high considering their improvement over the last few seasons. They used to be known as a big long ball side but they have been bringing in much more quality ball players in recent times and Mark Hughes has been making them into a very hard team to beat, especially at home. Coral have the draw priced at 11/4 and that may be a more likely outcome with Arsenal being very short of defenders at the moment. It is notoriously difficult to predict results in the early stage of the season, but if you fancy a bet in this game it may be worth checking out this coral 2017 betting offers review and having your bet with the bookies own money if you take advantage of their bonus offer.

At the end of last season the Arsenal destroyed Stoke 4-1 at the Brittania, but the Potters had absolutely nothing to play for while Arsene Wenger’s side were fighting hard to try and get back into the Top Four. They ultimately failed by just the one point and Wenger will now be desperate to get a fast start to get Arsenal back up among the elite where they belong, and although Alexis Sanchez is not expected to feature, the new arrival Alexandre Lacazette is hungry to continue his brilliant scoring record from Ligue 1 in the last three seasons and is sure to start.

So for my favourite bet on this game, I am going to go for Lacazette to score and Arsenal to win @ 7/5 from Coral, and Arsenal to continue their quest to stay up top with the leaders….

They have lost Arnautovic, but they changed their formation to 3-4-2-1. Arsenal has similar formation, so the match will be dominated by the team that can possess the ball longer.

This away game is suitable for Lacazette, because Arsenal can launch a fast counter-attack. As long as Welbeck, Iwobi and skillful CMs play behind him, I am sure Arsenal will win.

At the slightly reduced odds of 6/5 maybe Lacazette to score at any time whether Arsenal win, lose or draw is the better bet?

What is odd? I don’t know.
What I know? We are going to win.
I feel sorry for Stoke that they lost last we. The can wait another week.

Odds are simply an indication of what you will get from a bookmaker if you make a bet. The first figure is what the bookie will pay out, the second figure is what you have to put on. So as an example and using the bet in the article of Lacazette to score and Arsenal to win the bookies are offering 7/5 which means they will pay you £7 for every £5 you stake with them if your bet wins. So if he does score and Arsenal win you would collect £7 for the win and get your £5 back giving you a total return of £12. If Lacazette scores but Arsenal only draw or lose then the bet is lost and the bookies keep your £5.
We won easily last season but in general our record at Stoke is not the best. For that reason I think the better bet is simply for Lacazette to score at 6/5 is safer. As ‘gotanidea’ rightly points out, he is the perfect player to score on the break with his skill, speed and shooting accuracy.

Stoke are a very disciplined team, so it’s gonna be a tough match, d good news is that they are slow starter, this early season fixture should favor us

OT: Arsene wants to get rid of certain players to trim the wage bill. Post that he will sign a player. Club will not sign more than one player. Here is the likely scenario. Arsenal get rid of whomever they can and trim the wage bill, sit happily and enjoy as the savings trickle straight to the bottom line. Second is they fail to get rid of anyone in which case they will stop chasing all targets. Third and this is most likely, they get rid of whomever they can and announce deals for ozil alexis ox etc: to appease the fans. Source says that club are increasing the offer for alexis as they are comfortable keeping him for the next 3 years on high wages. Alexis signing a new deal would be magnificent and would show intent on the part of the club. Although lack of strengthening would be an issue. Personally I feel we still need an attacker and a defender.
no time left in the window so. My source says everything has gone quiet from arsenal. Only whispers of alexis getting a hike and signing. So basically Thats probably it for this window. Better than most windows for arsenal provided we keep hold of our players. So lets go and COYG!

      Remember Resource,
Your full off it. Every day your claiming some crap like you know something from the inside. 3 weeks ago is was Lemar is done just waiting on Monaco to sign a replacement so we can announce the deal. Now your saying Alexis/Ozil and Ox will sign. Only 1 thing you have said has come true and that was all over the media anyways while you where saying it. Lucky guess. Stop getting gulible fans hopes up .
(Sorry admin if this breaks the rules but this guy has been reporting made up stories all summer)

There are no easy games in the PL especially when you are Arsenal but I expect an easy win none the less.

Hmmmn…. A win or nothing, like seriously…. I hate Stoke and how they bully Us off The ball, more reason why Ozil should sit this one Out but then there is no Wenger to listen to me on here…….

Let Ozil start this game from the bench while Iwobi takes its place in d starting line up. I want to see Ox chambalin start from his prefer position (right back), Kolasinic, (left back), Per, Montrea and Kos..centre back, then Xhaka and Eleny in d midle, Danny and Lac up front, definately with this line up, 3 point is guaranteed for arsenal…
