Stop moaning! Arsenal won and we top the League!

Arsenal fans are Deluded! By Galen Sona.

This win against Newcastle for me is probably Arsenal’s best result of the season, because a few years ago we would have lost this game. My biggest problem with Arsenal for the last 10 years is that we always had to play well to win. 60% possession with like some 30 shots and 15 on targets. Do you guys all remember this team?

This team has played some of the best football in our history and some of the best football the Premier League has ever seen. What did this team win? They couldn’t win a Carling Cup game! Whenever one player had a bad game the entire team was a failure.

Now we are trying to keep a few clean sheets with a world-class keeper in Petr Cech, and we are winning games but not in the sexy Wengerball Arsenal way and fans are bashing the team. I can’t believe this is happening. Yes we were not sexy, yes we were poor, yes the passing was not good enough, yes there was no fluidity to our game.

But people criticising the team after a very difficult win are deluded. We won, had a clean sheet, and took all the three points and some people are seriously complaining? I am not having any of such criticism. Look at the great Manchester United teams and even Chelsea last season or the Mancini era at City? They all grinded out several games and won trophies playing badly and winning.

Didn’t they used to say its a mark of a Champion to play badly and win a game of football? But when it comes to Arsenal fans will be insulting all the players calling them all sorts of names. I am not having such criticism.

I want to say congratulations to the players. They were not at their best but they won the game and we are top of the League. We have Liverpool and Stoke away in our next two premier leagues games. I will happily take 2 poor performances and the full 6 points. Winning 1-0 to the Arsenal in both games…..

A big thank you to the BOSS “Lolo”

Happy New year to all Gunners out there.

well we don’t exactly MOAN the resuLt (3pts+cleansheet)

we actually BE-MOAN our performance Last night!

  2. SoOpa AeoN

Hahahaha…….. I Look at the Team sheet u drew up ere……and i wonder, how many Traitors did we have in the team back then???…… Well, gLad we moved on!

    1. Trudeau

So it’s okay for us fans to turn on players going through a rough patch – pick one of Monreal, Flamini, Arteta, Ox, Walcott, Ozil, Mertesacker, Gibbs, Wilshire, Ramsey, Welbeck, Chambers, Campbell Giroud as they have all had patches of chief wihipping boy anc scape goat – but if they dare leave we brand them as disloyal and traitors. That’s how we roll?

Sometimes You win ugly with poor performance…..Sometimes You win without playing the Arsenal Way..Sometimes you win with charisma and style, sometimes you win sexy in the Arsenal Way…At this point in the league, all that matters is the 3pts..You won’t win all games with possession and swag…

Having said that, We need to improve our game in our decision making in the final third (Ramsey, Walcott need to work on this)…..Ox, i don’t know what to say but alot of work need to be done..

We should also defend as a team ( we have improved on this) but lets also try to keep a good shape and unit when not in possession..

    Arsenal All The Way!!!

Agreed, but people need to realise how CL football along with the holiday period has knackered our players, and we got away with it so like Galen says this is a good thing. Hashtag sexy Wengerball Arsenal way ..love it.

Glad we got the 3 points. But Newcastle are a poor side and if another team, say Liverpool or Stoke, were to get the chances Newcastle got then we would lose the game 3-1 or 4-1.We are not moaning, we are just saying that there is alot that needs to be fixed b4 our next game.

Wow, what a deluded article! Has the writer already forgotten the 13/14 season? The similarities are uncanny!

Poor summer transfer window on both occasions, top of the league at the half way point each time, but lots of poor performances, both seasons were so open, lots of injuries during both campaigns, and the final nail in the coffin for the 13/14 season was the deluded Kallstrom signing. An awful January transfer window that finished our season.

My point is, that the poor performances are huge warning signs that Wenger mustn’t ignore like he did two seasons ago. This is what worries a lot of Arsenal fans that don’t have their heads buried in the sand. Will Wenger learn from his mistakes, because we really need some quality signings this month after he left us so short in the summer.

Hahaha You are right mate! ?
It’s very deluded…. What does he mean by we would have lost this game afew Years ago? ? ? ?
Maybe he meant afew days or weeks ago instead! ??

The Truth always gets thumbed down!

    2. antiwenger

@Thirdman, it’s good to know that am not the only one with good memory here, most of these fans here are so deluded it’s actually funny. With a good summer window, we could probably be miles ahead of a stuttering city side, but due to our manager’s stubbornness we are only 3 points ahead with an inferior GD. And for your info, city’s remaining fixtures are quite easy compared to ours.We have to go to old Trafford, anfield, etihad, WHL and even the Britannia which is our worst nightmare. if you ask me,City are well poised to win it again.

    3. SoOpa AeoN

@antiwenger……….as deluded as i may sound, but what if we somehow manage to pull through a win in those 5 places u mentioned…… Would u still say citeh is poised to win it?

This is the EpL buddy….and the so called big teams are not those who put the pressure on u….its those hanging by the thread, the stubborn , underrated bottom sides that creates the most shocks! (and citeh might be in for a shocker too ) …… As the saying goes “there are no small teams in the EPL”

    4. GoonerLad

No they’re not, we failed when injuries hit us but this time we’re still 1st with 2nd highest GD and only 2goals behind City

  6. fullmetalalc

I would disagree with you with the fact that we now have Petr Cech. We got 74 points in 2013/14 season and adding 15 points which Cech gives us, it is 89 points. Now this 15 point may be a made up figure by Terry but from the evidences so far this season, he seems to be spot on. This should be good enough to win us the title. Our team may lack fluency at times but its very important to win games like these. I had hoped to get similar results vs West Brom and Norwich but alas we didn’t. Now what is important is to keep winning at home and avoid losses away to Stoke, Liverpool, City and Utd and we should be ok.

    1. Fatboy Gooney

I think that Cech has already saved 15 pts!
And it could be more like 30pts come May!

If wasn’t for Cech, we would have been in 6th or 7th place and if it wasn’t for our lackluster performances against the lesser teams, we would have been 15pts clear at the Top!
      ???

I won’t be slating Wenger until the transfer window shuts!
Rumour has it that Elneny will be our Main signing, followed by 1 or 2 teens… with Leicester city’s” Chilwell” being one of them… Nice appropriate name ??

  7. tissiam

OFF TOPIC:i wonder if piers still thinks that klopp would do a better job than ARSENE??anyway good 3 pts yesterday once again the team showed guts, spirit it,s now time to recover, rest and prepare for the next game,COYG!!!

    1. SoOpa AeoN

a lil too early to judge kLopp tho…….. He’s inherited a shambolic rodgers squad and manage to pull thru a few wins with em…… Tho his team is far from quality….lets see what he brings to table in the window (january and summer)….. My onLy fear is he may go for his former boys like Reus and Auba (but would they Love to go to anfield?)

  8. Iffybright

Those midfielders that played Arsenal midfield yesterday wont make Guardiola team…Ramsey is just an average midfielder, all the hype about him is uncalled for. Flamini cant do anything with the ball, old school type of defensive midfielder…have said it time without number, that Ozil is not a complete attacking midfielder, all he can do is just to pass, he cant hold the ball, he cant dribble through tight spaces something which Iniesta, yaya, silva, santi, coutinho all do with ease…he almost cost us a goal if not for Cech heroics……..For those of u comparing him to Bergkamp, let me tell you guys, he has not done anything close to what Cesc did for Arsenal for 6years….Cesc is an Arsenal legend, Ozil is not, he is just starting to deliver…i dont understand all this hype about Ozil and Ramsey…..

    1. goonthinker

ozil cant get into a guardiola team but can get into a germany/real madrid team right?
cesc is a legend when all we could achieve with him is a 4th place trophy.
Silva best assist record is 19 assists in all competition am telling you even cazorla
and sanchez can do more in that no10
      role

Some people deserve an interplanetary ban.sick and ignorant.
It seems you only look at the overrated players.

    2. Puff Puff

I thought I was the only one who saw this. The Özil hype is just too much.He is a very good passer,I agree but how many players are?Silva,De Bruyne,Cesc(better IMO),Mahrez,Santo,Jack,Isco,Rosicky. All these players can do the exact same thing Mesut is doing and to compare him to Bergkamp is just stupid

      1. Iffybright

Spot on, Assist alone does not make a player d best midfielder in the world, do you know that Messi has higher number of assist compared to Ozil counting from five seasons ago……a fully fit Cesc is better than a fully fit Ozil…. Cesc can do many other things required from an Attacking Midfielder…check that goal he scored against Spurs from d midfield…i can count like 4-5 solo goals Cesc scored for Arsenal……Ozil cant even take on a man talkless of Scoring solo goals, he can only dream of it.. The way Arsenal fans are hyping Ozil, makes it look as if OZIL is the best player my dear Arsenal has ever had….disgusting

We are NOT MOANING..we are realistic Arsenal fans.We have to improve our team in order to grab EPL and give Barca a run for their money in our two matches. How would it happen? Get a decent DM now ( Carvalho / Biglia or else ) and why not spend the moeny we should spend in summer with big signing that I do believe will give great boost to the team moral and positive attitude such as Aubameyang or Lacaztte? Believe the impact to have DM-Ramsey- Theo-Ozil-Alexis- Aubameyang as attacking options? Dear back to the pace and flair of the INVINCIBLE TEAM..we create HAVOC AND FEAR FACTOR TO THE REST OF THE LEAGUE but as we know , this is just a DREAM for many and the reality we will end up with a cheap bargain from egypt and some bosnian wonder kid…This our time but aint see it happening..another 10 years in waiting :-((

    1. SoOpa AeoN

can’t believe some ppl still highly rate the one season wonder Lacazette

yea we wanted him here when we were short of attacking options (decimated squad and out-of-form players then) , but when he got cocky, waved us off and i got to watch him in the emirates cup…. I realizeed how unfinished he really was!

  10. jonm

Yesterdays game was a poor Arsenal performance. Newcastle were the better side overall but arsenal were better at finishing, a fortunate win against the run of play, but it is what Champions do.

Compared to a couple of seasons ago (when we were top at Christmas) this team has more resilience and we seem capable of beating other top teams. I am optimistic about our chances of winning but concerned about all the injuries. Tottenham are a concern, they seem to be very consistent.

    1. SoOpa AeoN

Concentrate on winning the League……..it doesn’t matter what pundits and fans say bout the spuds….. They are on a Level of their own and its still a Long way to go into season

  11. Davros

Chelsea won the PL last season by winning ugly sometimes.

I remember them beating lower table sides by one goal

The main thing is that they consistently won.

  12. ArseOverTit

Cech is the difference between us winning and loosing. Even if we play poorly and threaten little he keeps us in the game.

We clearly need to sign and sign quality but the question as always is, will we?

Ozil is doing superb and Rambo is a top top player. He just needs management and a system that is appropriate for the opposition and that allows him the freedom to push forward. And that is Wengers call.

  13. Davros

I am happy that we won. We got the job done so let’s concentrate on the next match and improving our performance

  14. Ras

How about Wenger find us a couple of signings who can come on and kill off these tight games for us instaed of Giggs and Chambers. Evertime I see those subs i get scared. I mean like head under the sheets scared. Its too much and the opposite is required. We rode our luck yesterday and with the city game. Wenger needs to use this transfer window and seal us the prem
