You would have thought that Arsenal would have been feeling confident after beating Chelsea in midweek, and with Swansea being right down the had a of the League, but it didn’t look like that in the first 15 minutes. Swansea had far more of the ball than Arsenal and looked much more dangerous, and in the 15th minute they had a very close penalty claim, which would normally be given against Arsenal lol.
But it was denied and Arsenal went straight down the other end and had a shout of their own, but there was no way that Lee Mason could give that one so quickly after denying Swansea. A quarter of the way through the game, Arsenal had much more possession as usual but hadn’t tested Fabianski once, while Swansea have had 3 good chances. On 26 minutes they cut through the Arsenal defence again but Elneny (who seems to be a defender today!) cuts it out, and from the corner Mawson smashed a shot that went just wide of Cech’s post.
Then we straight down the other end and Iwobi gets our best chance of the game but Fabianski denied him at the post. but finally on the half hour, a lovely cross from Mesut Ozil finds that man again Nacho Monreal at the far post and he slots it past our old reserve keeper. Arsenal take the lead, probably against the run of play.
Swansea put their heads down and and within five mins drew level when our defence was split open again and left Clucas one-on-one with Cech, and suddenly the Swans were back in the game. 1-1 – typical Arsenal! The game is looking a bit too open for my liking…
The rain continues to pour down and there are likely to be more errors in this gam, but can we just get to half-time without conceding? Arsenal seemed to be trying to be more precise with their passing and hold on to the ball longer, but the first time they give it away Fer runs through to Cech’s goal but his shot was a bit weak to get past our big Number One.
Swansea defended in numbers but are always looking for a quick break, but close to the end of the first half Xhaka tried one of his trademark long shots but was well over the bar, so it goes in half-time at 1-1 and it is still all to play for. Arsenal had 70% possession in the first half, but Swansea had 7 attempts to Arsenal’s 5. No change there then!
The second half starts with Swansea happy to relax in numbers in defence and are closing down wherever the ball is with an Arenal player, and Arsenal are caped in the opponents half but with little penetration. But when Swansea get out of their half they are going straight for the jugular. h 30 minutes left Arsenal are trying to find room in the packed Swansea area but Ozil just gets off a weak shot, while Mkhitaryan is warming up at last. Maybe he could find a way through…
He comes on to replace Elneny, who has actually been one of our best players but could be tiring and has been booked. But what a start he gets as within the next minute Arsenal go behind when Cech completely mishits an easy clearance and it goes straight to Ayew just a few metres out and even Iwobi couldn-t miss from there! Arsenal are looking like having another nightmare on the road, and can you believe that is the first time the Swans have scored two goals this season!
Arsenal needed to step up the tempo and its a shame our first chance went to Iwobi who shoots far over the bar. Wenger must be getting worried as he has Giroud warming up. But we can-t sacrifice a defender with Swansea looking so dangerous on the break…
Swansea are looking much more confident and get a great place for a free kick when Bellerin gets a silly booking, and when it came into the box Cech looked to be flapping again. The defence is incredibly nervous and Dyer is given a golden chance to make it 3/1 but just shoots a tiny bit wide. I hope they regret that but we need a bit of magic from our forwards very soon…
Arsenal are trying though and Mhki gets his first chance for Arsenal but he didn-t have any power on a perfect cross from Ozil, but was offside anyway. So with 15 minutes to go Wenger brings on Giroud in desperation and removes Iwobi at last. Can he save us one last time before leaving tomorrow, possibly ?and we would probably be happy with a point right at that moment.
Swansea are tired and digging in in their final quarter while Arsenal try to find a way through the forest of players, but time ticks away and and the Swans keeping their shape, which seems to work very well.
On 8 minutes to go Ramsey gets a free header as the pressure builds but it is just a tiny bit high for him, but there were little gaps appearing in the bus. But Swansea break again, and another awful clearance from Monreal this time, allows Ayew a chance to power into the box and Clucas somehow pokes it in and makes it 3-1. Arsenal have surely run out of time and we have more proof that Arsenal can’t play away from the Emirates. Oh and our defenders are looking ike the Keystone Kops this season…
You couldn’t make it up, and with Tottenham and Man City coming up in the next four weeks, we can probably see any chance of the Top Four receding rapidly into the distance unless Aubameyang can perform miracles…

The team lacks creativity and penetration from the wings. Aubameyang would be isolated like Lacazette, because he cannot drop deep to get the ball from the midfield like Sanchez, Hazard, Salah, Mane, Neymar or Messi.
Arsenal should find explosive inverted wingers that can cut inside and dribble well, like Salah, Mane, Sterling and Sane. If Wenger is still at Arsenal next season, it would be useless to have Aubameyang, Lacazette, Ozil, Mkhitaryan and Xhaka in the squad.

Our defence is sh*t and nothing’s ever done to get a leader in. You never see anyone shouting at the back, it’s all too polite. It’s been like this for blo*dy ages and we’re wetting our panties at the prospect of another forward! We’re barking up the wrong tree.
Just hope the dinosaur goes at the end of the season and takes the garbage he puts out on the field with him otherwise it’s going to get a lot worse than it is already.
The good news is much of his deadwood favorites have been pushed out. He’ll be the last piece of this terrible puzzle to go. This match was really frustrating. It was a clear indication that it doesn’t matter who we buy or sell, the manager is still the problem. Xhaka is pure shit, the guy just stands & watches opposing players go past him & he’s most of the times passing sideways or backwards. Anyway, I can’t blame these players when the only constant is the manager. Wenger should simply just resign, or get fired. He’s getting worse by the day & it won’t end well for him at all. I wanted him to succeed this season but he is beyond salvation. Let’s just hope that the board & Kroenke will grow some balls. God bless our Arsenal.

I really hope P-EA does NOT join us for two reasons. First he is a rotten apple which destroys team spirit. Second because I want our team to finish miles behind fourth place to ensure Wengers sacking. More displays like tonight at Swansea are badly needed to cure the first cancerous tumour , Wenger, and see him off . Then we must work against the foul owner and this will be the real battle. This season has been a write off for months already and I predicted a 2-1defeat tonight. But even worse/ better than I thought. Anyone waiting and hoping for results to improve, then first help get Wenger out. If he stays we just get worse each season and that is obvious to anyone with eyes and a brain.

Is it just me, or do we have more “illness” absences than the rest of the league combined? Where was Wilshere?! It seems we never have our real starting XI playing. I don’t understand it. That said, we shouldn’t be losing this game, but it’s clear the positive effect Wilshere has had on our creativity and on Xhaka. We drop more points to “stomach bugs” than I’ve ever seen! There is still too much deadwood at the club which needs to be cleared starting with WENGER.Too many cra p to average players.
Cech made a lot mistakes and nobody said nothing but when Ospina make one mistake all the fans said a lot bad things about him. The fans never remember that Cech was on the bench when he was buy by Arsenal and his performance season by season is badly.
Ospina deserve a chance to be number one and play more regular games.
I have to agree. Cech is finished, Ospina has really only made on horrendous mistake. Summer time comes, we need a new GK in general though.

Arsenal are looking to buy Auba. Great, much needed. Today other than Laca who is a natural goal scorer, I don’t see Ramsay, Ozil, Iwobi or anyone else starting as goal scorers. I see them as ppl who could score.
Compare that to City with Aurego, Gabriel, Sterling, De Buyne- all starters, all goal scorers.

Always seems to happen to Arsenal players. It’s been over a decade of sloppy play. Wonder why this stuff happens way less often to Mourinho and Guardiola teams? Maybe because they actually have discipline and the right mentality? Arsenal players are infected with losing mentality. When the going gets tough, they’re finished. Despite what Wilshere or Elneny post online,we see them giving up, not putting in all their effort. Some are just not good enough, and some of these problems have been around for ages and are consistent problems in Wenger’s squads for over a decade now. We’re not getting any closer to EPL title man, we’re getting so much worse.
Arsene cannot motivate teams, does not improve players at the rate he used to, puts out bad lineups, bad subs. Consistently everyone in the damn club loses the plot in Jan-March period!But Wenger will rally the troops around late April to make himself look good at the end of the year and stop the full blown protests. It’s not good enough, and if you think it is, then you are loyal to Wenger and don’t care about the club actually winning and fighting with the best in Europe. Arsenal can be so much better than it is right now. Stop being afraid of change. Life WILL continue without Wenger.

God that was about as poor as we can get, were lucky it was Swansea and not one of the big boys. Where to start… Why Iwobi? Has his past recent games not been enough to show you hes playing like shit? Of course Wenger wont drop him for some reason beyond common sense. Welbeck would have been more useful since he’ll actually put a shift in defensively and is more likely to grab a goal.. Let that sink in.. Welbeck is a bigger goal threat than Iwobi. It might be time to cut our losses with Xhaka. Never gives those long balls like last season, has progressively gotten worse in every aspect from defending to simple passing. If Niles cant get a chance there now than he might as well push for a new club because obviously Wenger has no plans to give him game time in his natural position. Playing with Ramsey, Ozil, Elneny, Xhaka.. wheres the width on the wings? Cech was poor, not more to say about that. Kos and Mustafi putting in a shocker. Id like to think Kolasinac would finally make it into the lineup after that shit performance from our defenders, but its Wenger so expect the same back 4 out there next game, or Elneny coming in at Center Back. Even with Auba coming in, the same problem will exist not only defensively, but our one dimensional attack. everyone cutting in to the center congesting it and sideways passing. Even when we win the ball against the run of play, we sideways pass and let the get numbers behind the ball. Missing a DM and minimum one Centerback.
