There is no doubt that Arsene Wenger and the Arsenal board will take the news about the Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala as a clear endorsement of the Gunners way of doing things. Our self-sustaining financial model is hust about the diametric opposite of the way that Anzhi have been doing business since being taken over by the billionaire Suleyman Kerimov less than three years ago.
Wenger will also see it as a sign that the Financial Fair Play rules are starting to have an effect, because that is one of the reasons given by the Russian club for putting the whole team of players up for sale.
