I felt really sorry for the Arsenal and England international star Theo Walcott when it was revealed last week that the groin problem the forward had picked up on the last international break while training with Roy Hodgson’s squad, may force the unlucky Gunner to undergo yet another operation.
Everyone concerned with Arsenal was a bit worried when Theo Walcott, who had by that time made just two appearances as a sub after coming back from an operation almost a year ago to fix the anterior cruciate ligament damage picked up in a north London derby in January, was selected by Roy Hodgson to join up with his England team mates.
Noooooooooo. Not again!! Theo Walcott is returning to Arsenal after picking up an injury while training with the England squad for the World cup qualifiers against San Marino tonight and Montenegro on Tuesday. The news is very worrying for Arsenal fans and will be a real concern for Walcott and Arsene Wenger.
You couldn’t make it up. Arsenal have been struggling with injuries since the start of the season and it never seems to get any better. The absence of Kieran Gibbs who was injured against West Ham, had a very detrimental effect on the Arsenal defence, just as the Gunners were putting a good run together, and the nervousness spread throughout the team. So it was great to see him back against Aston Villa and, with Sagna finally back, we had a strong defence again.
The Arsenal and Denmark striker Nicklas Bendtner is extremely pleased to be back in training with the Arsenal team, and is now feeling no more pain from the groin strain that has had him sidelined for the last few months.
