The fact that the German Bundesliga club specifically mentioned Arsenal in their statement does suggest to me that the Arsenal transfer rumours linking us with a January transfer move for their former Manchester United star were close to the mark.
Are Arsenal Really Interested In This Former Man United Star? by AT
With the January transfer window just around the corner, there have been several players linked with a move to Arsenal but perhaps the latest one is the most interesting of all. According to an exclusive from the Daily Star, the Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is plotting a move for the former Manchester United star, Javier Hernandez.
It appears that Arsene Wenger has been told that if Arsenal were to show some transfer interest in this prolific striker then he would have very little hesitation in signing for Arsenal and coming back to the Premier League where he used to play for our big rivals Manchester United.
As the majority of us will concentrate on our family’s festivities, some of us will need to tame their craving for the latest speculation surrounding our beloved club.
Arsenal need a striker and Javier Hernandez seems to need a club that will value him and play him regularly. The Mexican international striker has started just eight games in all competitions this season, even though Manchester United have been without Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney for various periods, so Hernandez must be thinking that he might have to move.
There is a general consensus among Arsenal fans that the most important thing for Arsene Wenger to do in the January transfer window is to bring in another striker, whether to push Olivier Giroud for his place or to support him and offer Arsenal something different.
One former Arsenal striker, Carlos Vela, who eventually moved on because of a lack of playing opportunities, has been talking about his international team mate being in a similar situation at Manchester United. Javier Hernandez seems to be seriously considering his future at Old Trafford and I think he could make a great addition to the Arsenal squad if he is available.
Do we need a little bit of Hernandez? by Ash
Arsenal have been doing perfectly well up front so far this season and we have certainly scored plenty of goals, most of which have actually come from midfield with Aaron Ramsey. However that’s beside the point and it is in fact Frenchman Olivier Giroud who has been in the limelight regarding Arsenal’s goal scoring prowess so far this season.
