Following on from the article in the Daily Express an hour ago, which confidently reported that that the young Madrid striker Alvaro Morata would be joining Arsenal on loan in January, it seems that the Spanish giants have moved quickly to deny there is any truth in the Express report.
The transfer of Gonzalo Higuain to Arsenal is certainly dragging on a lot longer than it should have done, but it has not hit the wall, contrary to the widely repeated report in the Spanish newspaper Marca. The problem for Arsenal is that we have to dance to Real Madrid’s tune a little bit until the deal is completed.
Arsenal are having a tough season, there is no doubt about it, but the Spanish champions Real Madrid seem to be in meltdown, with rumours of cliques and warring factions in the dressing room, indiscipline on the pitch and injuries decimating the team. They are 15 points behind their great rivals Barcelona, who they also face in the semi-final of the Spanish cup.
Wow. I am in shock after reading the latest quote from Cesc Fabregas. I totally ignored the rumours this morning that said the Arsenal captain had told his friends and family that he would be at Barcelona next season. “The usual rubbish” I thought.
