M’Vila was last season’s biggest transfer fiasco for Arsenal after Robin Van Persie last season, with the Frenchman tipped to join the Gunners by many top European journalists, only for the defensive midfielder to stay at Rennes before linking up with Russian club Rubin Kazan in the winter transfer window.

I don’t know how many times I have read that the Fiorentina striker Stefan Jovetic has signed a pre-contract agreement with Arsenal and will join the Gunners when the transfer window opens. I’ve even seen Photoshop pictures of Jovetic edited in an Arsenal kit, yet now all of a sudden the story has gone cold. However, now there are reports that once Juventus declared an interest, Jovetic would like to stay in Italy.
