Stats suggest Ospina could take Arsenal shirt from Szczesny!

Well Arsenal fans, how are enjoying the summer so far? It is certainly a lot better than last year, when Arsene Wenger seemed to have forgotten that there was a summer transfer window at all, until he was reminded in no uncertain terms by the home fans at the Emirates as we slumped to an opening day defeat against Aston Villa.

Confirmed – Arsenal sign Ospina as Szczesny backup

Well is this turning into Arsenal’s best transfer window ever? Not only have Arsenal signed Debuchy, Sanchez and Chambers, but Arsene Wenger has now confirmed that we have bought the excellent David Ospina as a replacement for Fabianski.

At a fantastic price of just 4 million Euros, Ospina was always the best value keeper on the market, and Wenger thinks that the Colombian international will be challenging Wojciech Szczesny for the First XI jersey next season. ‘You know at the start Szczesny will be the No. 1, then again we’ll be down to performances and, if Ospina shows that he is better, he will play,’ Wenger said yesterday.

Valencia one of THREE clubs fighting Arsenal for Ospina transfer!

It was being reported a few days ago that Arsenal had agreed terms with the French Ligue 1 club Nice for the transfer of their keeper David Ospina. With a transfer fee of around £3-4 million, it looked like Arsene wenger had done it again, with the Colombian international keeper showing some fantastic ability in Brazil this summer.

According to a Daily Mail report, the Nice player had been on the Frenchman’s transfer wish list before the World Cup finals, but his excellent performances for Colombia this summer have brought him to the attention of a number of other clubs.

David Ospina set to be Arsenal’s new goalkeeper?

Arsenal fans are still waiting impatiently for the club to officially announce their second senior signing of the summer, and hopefully when Wenger returns to the fold from Brazil we can see some new faces unveiled.

But in the meantime, there are numerous papers (The Telegraph, Mirror, Metro, Express, Mail and Star to name a few!) reporting this week that the Arsenal transfer team are currently trying to tie up a deal for the Nice goalkeeper David Ospina, who was very impressive for Colombia at the World Cup.

Arsenal could soon be rid of the Squid

Bonjour Sebastian by AH

Squillaci, well what can you say about this guy. He has been absolutely diabolical for Arsenal in my opinion. But now it seems that he is on his way out of the Emirates. Costing us a reported £4 million from Sevilla back in 2010, the Frenchman went on to make 39 appearances scoring 2 goals in the process. Squillaci is out of contract this summer and the former French international had this to say on his future;

Loic Remy reveals Arsenal dream

The young French striker Loic Remy was linked with a move to Arsenal during the recent transfer window, but came close to moving to the French giants Lyon instead.

Although Remy had agreed terms and was expected to move, the deal between Nice and Lyon fell through at the last minute, and Remy revealed his disappointment with Lyon.

The 23 year-old began his career at Lyon, and that is where his family and friends are based, but he may not be so willing to listen to them if they make another move in the summer.

Arsenal transfer gossip Jan 30th – Sagna, Chamakh, Wilshere and Loic Remy

Even with the big game against Man utd coming up tomorrow, the papers are still full of Arsenal transfer news. Almost everyone has reported that Jack Wilshere has chosen Bolton as his destination for the rest of the season so there is no point going into that here. Except to say Good Luck Jack!

A few papers have also said that Arsenal have still not given up on Marouane Chamakh from Bordeaux, but they say that Wenger is trying to negotiate a pre-contract agreement for next season. Considering that Van Persie will be back in the squad next season, I would personally have thought it unlikely, unless of course he is considering selling Eduardo in the summer?
