Well Arsenal fans, how are enjoying the summer so far? It is certainly a lot better than last year, when Arsene Wenger seemed to have forgotten that there was a summer transfer window at all, until he was reminded in no uncertain terms by the home fans at the Emirates as we slumped to an opening day defeat against Aston Villa.
Well is this turning into Arsenal’s best transfer window ever? Not only have Arsenal signed Debuchy, Sanchez and Chambers, but Arsene Wenger has now confirmed that we have bought the excellent David Ospina as a replacement for Fabianski.
It was being reported a few days ago that Arsenal had agreed terms with the French Ligue 1 club Nice for the transfer of their keeper David Ospina. With a transfer fee of around £3-4 million, it looked like Arsene wenger had done it again, with the Colombian international keeper showing some fantastic ability in Brazil this summer.
Arsenal fans are still waiting impatiently for the club to officially announce their second senior signing of the summer, and hopefully when Wenger returns to the fold from Brazil we can see some new faces unveiled.
Bonjour Sebastian by AH
Squillaci, well what can you say about this guy. He has been absolutely diabolical for Arsenal in my opinion. But now it seems that he is on his way out of the Emirates. Costing us a reported £4 million from Sevilla back in 2010, the Frenchman went on to make 39 appearances scoring 2 goals in the process. Squillaci is out of contract this summer and the former French international had this to say on his future;
The young French striker Loic Remy was linked with a move to Arsenal during the recent transfer window, but came close to moving to the French giants Lyon instead.
Although Remy had agreed terms and was expected to move, the deal between Nice and Lyon fell through at the last minute, and Remy revealed his disappointment with Lyon.
Even with the big game against Man utd coming up tomorrow, the papers are still full of Arsenal transfer news. Almost everyone has reported that Jack Wilshere has chosen Bolton as his destination for the rest of the season so there is no point going into that here. Except to say Good Luck Jack!
