First of all, I have to make it clear that Arsenal, as usual, are facing more injury problems than our next opponents. I cannot remember a game this season where that has not been the case but it has become so regular for the Gunners that we have just go used to it.
Arsenal have secured the signature of defender Gabriel from Villarreal, but there are still plenty of Arsenal transfer rumours doing the rounds as we enter the final two days of the transfer window.
Arsene Wenger has happily admitted that he is desperate to bring in another centre-back after Mathieu Debuchy was ruled out for at least the next three months, but says that he is having trouble locating a suitable target in January.
Arsene Wenger may have started to spend a lot more money on Arsenal transfers in the last couple of years, with the smashing to pieces of the Arsenal transfer record for Mesut Ozil a huge surprise to everyone. And the Frenchman has followed that stunning deal up as well, with decent money spent on Chambers, Debuchy and Welbeck last summer as well as over £30 million on Alexis Sanchez, although that now looks an absolute steal.
If the Arsenal boss has any real transfer interest in the West Ham and New Zealand international star Winston Reid, then we should soon see some action from Arsene Wenger. Because the defender’s current boss Sam Allardyce has given the biggest hint yet that Reid will not be staying at West Ham and all but encouraged any interested parties to come and get his player.
Arsenal have been linked with the West Ham defender Winston Reid ever since the summer, and as the New Zealand international is out of contract at the end of the season it could be quite conceivable that Arsenal have already lined up a move to bring him to the Emirates.
I could be wrong about this but hopefully Arsenal are set to strike early in the January transfer window. The player in question could even be heading for a transfer to Arsenal in the next two days is Arsene Wenger intends to make sure that the West Ham and New Zealand international defender Winston Reid is able to help the Gunners defend our FA cup trophy.
The transfer window opens tomorrow Arsenal fans and we are all hoping that Arsene Wenger has a couple of treats in store for us. Everyone has their own opinion of which players the Gunners need, are keeping an eye on and might actually sign, but there is nothing we can do but wait and see.
