At the beginning of the season, it looked like Olivier Giroud would be a complete flop when he missed sitter after sitter in Arsenal first five or six games, but he is under the impression that he has settled in rather well for his first season, and he promises to improve even further in the next campaign. There is a good chance that the goalkeeping situation at Arsenal will stay the same; and to be honest the topic is becoming more and more redundant as time goes on because Szczesny is a great keeper, and will be one of the best in the world (only an idiot would say otherwise).
Fabianski might be content with staying as Arsenals #2 keeper considering he is getting chances to start matches here and there, looking eager to overtake his young Polish compatriot, but who knows what decisions will be made by him or management during the summer. .......Read the full article here
On Sunday, Arsenal faced Manchester City at the Etihad which was arguably going to be the toughest league game of the season for Arsenal. The Gunners dominated in possession for a lot of the time and the statics show, that although we almost came away with nothing, we deserve much more. But unfortunately it’s not possession, shots on goal and passing accuracy that wins you the game. As we are on the lookout for a new midfielder since the departure of Alex Song to Barcelona, I thought I would take a look at the statistics of three of our defensive midfield transfer targets.
The three players I will be comparing are;
Yann M’Vila, a French international, who currently plays for Stade Rennes in the French first division. The defensive midfielder, has been linked with a move to Arsenal all summer and the departure of Song, has made it ever more likely.
