I really hope that Arsene Wenger was merely trying to throw people off the track of what Arsenal are planning to do in the transfer market, when he claimed that he did not expect much business to be done early on this summer. Because if he was serious, I think he may have misjudged the situation quite badly.
It seems as though lots of other clubs are already making plans and talking to players, clubs and agents in order to get their business done as quickly as possible. If Wenger waits until the World Cup is out of the way, not only will he have less time to complete the right signings, but the players he wants may have already gone elsewhere. .......Read the full article here
It is not the first time that Arsenal have been linked with the 22 year-old Cristian Tello from Barcelona, but this time it seems certain that the fledgling Spanish International will definitely be leaving the Catalan club this summer.
A report in todays Daily Express says that Tello has told the club to let him go if manager Gerardo Martino stays in charge next season.
Since Neymar arrived last year, Tello has been left as a bit part player by Martino, and the young winger was extremely angry when the manager put him on as a substitute in the 91st minute in a recent game against Getafe. .......Read the full article here
As many of you will have seen, David Ornstein (extremely reliable journalist) has just confirmed that Arsenal will not be signing Julian Draxler this January because Wenger doesn’t agree with Schalke’s evaluation. What that means for any deal in the summer, I don’t know. However, we still need depth in the attacking positions if we are to win silverware this season and one of those players linked is Cristian Tello of Barcelona. .......Read the full article here
Well we are at the business end of the January transfer window Arsenal fans. I know it has been frustrating so far, but if last summer’s window was anything to go on, we should not be all that surprised that no new players have been signed by the club yet.
There is still plenty of time in the next three days to get a player or two into the club, whether on loan or on a permanent deal, so I have complied a round-up of the possibilities, what they could bring to the Gunners and how likely we are to get them. .......Read the full article here
If the Arsenal boss had traveled to Spain to see a number of potential transfer targets, there can only be one player who really caught his eye. Arsene Wenger was reported by Goal.com and others to be at the Copa Del Rey clash between Levante and Barcelona and the young striker Cristian Tello bagged himself a second-half hat-trick.
The 22-year old Spanish international showed a great touch and eye for goal to go with his blistering pace to score all three goals coming in from the left flank. He can also play on the right and is one of the few players who could offer Arsenal the sort of pace we have lost due to Theo Walcott’s injury. .......Read the full article here
Arsenal in For Yet Another Barcelona Starlet? by AT
Following the unfortunate injury to Theo Walcott, it is no surprise that the Gunners are increasingly being linked with several strikers and wide forwards. The latest name to enter the fold is that of Barcelona starlet Christian Tello, with Gunners boss Arsene Wenger understood to be on the verge of a £10.5m move for the young Spaniard.
After the proposed loan deal for young Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata was ruled out, with Morata deciding to stay and fight for his place in Spain, as reported by Metro, it seems that Wenger still wants a striker from La Liga but has moved from one Spanish giant’s out of favour striker to another. .......Read the full article here
If Arsenal are successful in an attempt to persuade the 17-year old striker Antonio Sanabria to accept a transfer from Barcelona to north London, it will surely be because the up and coming young player feels he will have a better opportunity to further his career in the Premier League with the Gunners.
Sanabria has been promoted from the youth teams to the Barcelona B team this season, so he will have the chance to play in Spain’s second division. However, with Olivier Giroud being relatively untroubled by competition for his starting place in the Arsenal XI, it would seem that there is much chance of a young striker breaking into the Arsenal first team than at Barca. They already have the likes of Pedro, Alexis, Tello and Neymar fighting for a spot, as well as using Iniesta and Fabregas as false nines sometimes. .......Read the full article here
Two weeks ago Marseille declared interest in Arsenal “deadwood” winger Gervinho who has failed to win the love of Arsenal fans in his two year career at Arsenal. Most fans would happily see the back of him at this point and if they do I believe Arsenal can capitalize on a situation in Spain.
Every football fan in the world knows at this point that Brazilian ace Neymar has sealed a move to Barcelona and Barcelona’s wingers/forwards will be struggling for game time considering how many of them there are. That is why Arsenal should make a move for one of their wingers before anybody else swoops in and takes him. Here is a list of players that play in that position. .......Read the full article here
Arsenal were linked with David Villa weeks ago, and may even have had a bid turned down by Barcelona. The Spanish giants have declared that Villa is a vital member of the squad and they need him for the rest of the season, but something is not right. Stories hit the papers that the 31-year old striker was pushing for the transfer to Arsenal, because what the club was saying was not reflected in the reality of his situation. .......Read the full article here
Arsenal have spoken to Barcelona and tried to persuade them to sell David Villa this January, and the Spanish international is keen on the move, but the Barcelona president has squashed the transfer and told the media so in no uncertain terms. Sandro Rosell has made his mind up and told the Catalan radio station RAC.
“I completely rule out the transfer of Villa during the winter market.
There have been a number of clubs, including Arsenal, keeping a very close eye on the situation involving Cristian Tello at Barcelona. The player and club have been struggling to reach an agreement over his new contract. The 21-year old has been impressive for the Catalan side this season and some of Europe’s top clubs were hoping that lack of regular football might persuade him to move on.
Tello has agreed the terms of a new contract this week, that will keep him at Barcelona until 2016. The signing is expected to take place next week, according to Spanish newspaper AS. It is believed that the problem holding up the deal was the amount to set the buy out clause at. .......Read the full article here
Barcelona have been trying to get Cristian Tello to sign a new contract since last summer, apparently, but the 21-year old has still not signed. The situation has come to the attention of Arsenal and Liverpool who are now thinking about the January transfer window when Tello will be free to negotiate with other clubs before his current contract runs out next summer.
Tello spent six years in the youth system at Barcelona before his contract expired and he was signed by Espanyol in 2008. He soon returned to the B team at Barcelona and has now broken through into the first team with some impressive performances. He is lightning fast and plays as a striker coming in from the wings, and could be seen as a replacement for Theo Walcott. .......Read the full article here
