Don’t judge the club at the end of the window, judge them next Saturday! by KJ
There’s only 24 days left until the transfer window closes and Arsenal are still yet to spend a single pound in the transfer window. To put this into perspective, Manchester City, a team widely considered to already have the best squad in the league has spent £100m on improvements. What’s worse is that Arsenal easily have £100m+ to match City’s financial clout and yet it sits in the bank accounts at Arsenal gaining dust (and interest of course). .......Read the full article here
It’s getting to that point in the transfer window now. There’s only one month left and Arsenal have done barely anything in the last two and half months since the season ended. We technically haven’t spent a pound yet and already have a net profit of at least £3m which will rise when we sell Gervinho and potentially Bendtner. But none of us care about that, where are the signings? .......Read the full article here
At the start of the summer transfer window Arsenal were linked with hundreds of strikers, with names including Higuain, Jovetic, Villa and so on. However as the window has progressed we have seen Arsenal drop out of the running for each of these players and as a result seen them move to other clubs (or in Benteke’s case sign a new contract). Now I’m not necessarily saying that I’m too aggrieved at missing out on some of those players (as we all have our own personal favourites on which ones we’d like Arsenal to sign) but it’s the fact that we seem to be missing out on everyone that has angered me. .......Read the full article here
Arsenal have lost out on yet another one of their major transfer targets, with FC Barcelona’s David Villa officially set to join fellow Spanish side Atletico Madrid.
Arsenal may not of been as interested in Villa this transfer window as they had been 6 months ago in January but I am adamant to believe that he was still one of Wenger’s targets for this summer.
The price tag involving Villa is a reported £5.1 million however some media outlets are also quoting a £4.4 million value. However either way that’s an absolute bargain for someone of David Villa’s quality, even if he isn’t getting any younger. .......Read the full article here
Why are Arsenal being linked with so may strikers? by Stefan
Gonzalo Higuain looks to be close to completing a transfer to Arsenal in a £22 million deal, but the press is still going crazy with Arsenal striker transfer rumours. Young French striker Yaya Sanogo is almost certainly going to join Arsenal soon and he is of an age where he could start breaking into the first team already.
The only one as I said that looks to be definitely happening is Higuain from Real Madrid. He has been heading for the exit at Madrid for the last few months and new manager Carlo Ancelotti is looking to bring in Edinson Cavani or Luis Suarez, apparently. .......Read the full article here
David Villa is a player every Arsenal fan wanted in January. He seemed to be the answer to our prayers after already encountering a sluggish season, and it has been reported that we did in fact agree terms with the player, as well as a fee with Barcelona, only for manager Tito Vilanova to block the move.
Arsenal had agreed a £12.7 million price with Barcelona for the Spanish international and now after seeing the end to the season and maintaining Champion’s League football, I’m glad we didn’t buy Villa because quite simply that’s far too much for a 31 year old who has struggled with injuries recently, but it showed how desperate we were to get him. .......Read the full article here
Two weeks ago Marseille declared interest in Arsenal “deadwood” winger Gervinho who has failed to win the love of Arsenal fans in his two year career at Arsenal. Most fans would happily see the back of him at this point and if they do I believe Arsenal can capitalize on a situation in Spain.
Every football fan in the world knows at this point that Brazilian ace Neymar has sealed a move to Barcelona and Barcelona’s wingers/forwards will be struggling for game time considering how many of them there are. That is why Arsenal should make a move for one of their wingers before anybody else swoops in and takes him. Here is a list of players that play in that position. .......Read the full article here
Although it seemed pretty clear that Arsene Wenger wanted to sign David Villa for Arsenal back in the January transfer window, there is not a lot of speculation linking the Spanish international striker with a move to the Emirates this summer. Instead, it was widely believed that our North London rivals Tottenham were in pole position to sign the 31-year old from Barcelona.
The president of the Spanish champions Barcelona has thrown doubt onto that belief, however, by claiming to have received no offers and suggesting that Villa could very well continue at the Nou Camp next season, where he has one year left on his contract. .......Read the full article here
Arsenal are just one of a number of clubs who are being linked with the Belgium and Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke, the latest to be the Serie A club Fiorentina. All we need now is for Juventus to show interest and we will be in a weird three club triangle involving another main target Stevan Jovetic. .......Read the full article here
We are feeding on crumbs at the minute, until Arsenal make another official announcement, but there are a lot of crumbs out there and many of them are about forward players. Of course, the Gunners have already got their hands on the promising young French striker Yaya Sanogo, but he has not exactly floated the boat of most Gooners. He is one for the future and I’m glad we’ve got him, but it is the already established strikers that we are interested in. .......Read the full article here
It seems that Arsenal are to make a shock move for Swansea City striker Michu who has been hailed as the transfer of the season after surprising Premier League fans with his 18 goal season which cost Swansea just £2 Million. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been secretly active in the transfer market so far this summer as the club have apparently been making bids for all kinds of players. .......Read the full article here
It might be just as well that Arsenal are currently being linked with every footballer and his dog as the rumour mill really gets underway for this summer’s transfer window dealings. Two of the reported long term transfer targets for the Gunners have given Arsene Wenger some bad news after suggesting that they may be staying where they are.
Arda Turan, the talented left winger, has apparently been tracked all season by Arsenal and Chelsea has declared that he is happy to stay with his current club. After enjoying another excellent season with Atletico Madrid, which saw them win the Spanish FA cup or Copa Del Rey. Diego Simeone also finally managed to get them into the Champions League, and by finishing third they will not have a play-off game like Arsenal. .......Read the full article here
