The Two transfers Wenger wants to complete Arsenal squad?

Although the next transfer window is a good while away yet, it appears that Arsenal transfer rumours never stop. So this week we are hearing that Arsene Wenger has already identified the two players that he will attempt to bring to the club when the current season is over in order to give the Gunners a strong and talented enough squad to challenge for the Premier League title.

And one of those deals could be completed, or at least the terms agreed, in the next week or so, according to a Metro report. The player in question is the talented young Argentinean Paulo Dybala, the Palermo striker that is said to be one of the most sough after young strikers in Europe. Dybala has also been dubbed the new Sergio Aguero because of his all/round game and his finishing power.

The report claims that Arsenal have made it clear to his Italian club that we are willing to meet, or at least get very close to, their valuation of nearly £30 million and that their president is due in London for talks this week to thrash out the details.

The other player that Wenger has apparently set his sights on is the French international midfielder Maxime Gonalons, another Metro report claims. The 25-year old has been at the heart of his current club Lyon’s push for the French title this season which sees them sitting top of the table, closely followed by Marseille and PSG.

The 25/year old defensive midfielder has helped Lyon to concede the fewest goals in the French Ligue 1 and Wenger has decided that Gonalons is the perfect player to boost Arsenal’s midfield options and has instructed the club hierarchy to make it happen.

Would these two transfers complete the Arsenal squad and give us enough to really mount a title challenge next season?

  1. Should have kept the above article in the old server admin….tired of this poppycock rumours and so early too!

    1. Read as far as ‘Metro’ then gone.
The nonsense website that published 5 conflicting Arsenal transfer stories in 3 hours.
If it was a paper I wouldn’t wipe my ass with the Metro.

  2. Add Fabian Schar and this on paper may be the best Arsenal squad weve had since the Invincibles.

Shout out to the 2011 squad that got jobbed by Uefalonia!

  3. Paying £30 million for a player who had only one good season in Italian league… just seems too very risky for a player who could turn out like Immobile for Dortmund. I dont think we need to rush for this deal honestly, there may be a better option in the summer.

  4. I would be happy with 2 players from following 2 lists

    A.
    1. Dybala
    2. Jackson Martinez
    3. Lacazette
    4. Cavani
    5. Mandzukic
    6. Destro
    7. Falcao
    8. Benzema
    9. Greizmann
    10. Reus (not striker but worth getting)

    B.
    1. Schneiderlin
    2. Bender lars
    3. Bender Sven
    4. Carvalho
    5. Vidal
    6. Gonalons
    7. Gundogan
    8. Khedira
    9. Gustavo
    10. Javi Martinez

  5. For those calling Dybala a 1 season wonder so far or too expensive and what have you it’s absolutely understandable. Where I disagree is that after actually watching this 21 player play being it in Italy, what I’ve seen is better than some of what we actually have and he will get better. So yes I hope Wenger goes and get him… Some talents you just don’t pass up especially if the funds are available.

  6. Podolski out Dybala in for me. Then we’ll have a player than can play LW, RW and ST. I see him as a left footed Alexis and much younger too…

  7. Is it true? I remember the boss sealed the deal for Podolski transfer ahead of the summer transfer that saw him later arrived at Arsenal. Despite that I am taking this rumour to be likely unfounded rumour. We will know later if there is any truth in it or not as time goes on. Paulo Dybla 21? I will Google him to see his profile. His height and other information about him would I find out to know if he will be the Arsenal Premeir League tile bidding quality player for next season. Wouldn’t the boss go for Harry Kane? Ofcourse Spurds CEO will pull wires. But the boss too can also pull haywires to get Harry for Arsenal. Moreso if Spurs didn’t qualify for the CL. Kane too should want to move to CL Arsenal. Wouldn’t he? No amount of Brendan Rodgers/Luis Suarez transfer resistance by Daniel Levy should deterr the boss from getting Harry Kane if he wants to get him.

  8. Dybala getting the attention, but Gonalons would be the bigger improvement. If coquelin can improve us like he has then someone as good as Gonalons would make our midfield supreme.

Matic effect mark II, 6’2, great in the air, 89% passing, tackles and interceptions better than any DM in the prem (statistically), captain so brings leadership, has CL and international experience, still 25. Absolute wall

  9. More than happy to take a risk on dybala , rather that than not pay the extra , only for him to turn out top class ….

But I do know somebody who would I would love to see come to us …. Aubamayeng !

  10. Dyabla: “When I play with the PlayStation, I always choose Barcelona or Manchester City,” he told Guerin Sportivo earlier this month. “I dream to play one day with one of those clubs.”
