Can this fantastic new Arsenal squad “win it all”!

There is nothing wrong with a bit of faith in your Arsenal team-mates and you won’t win anything without confidence, so it is heartening to hear Alexis Sanchez talking about the Gunners winning everything this season with our new improved Arsenal squad.

The Chilean knows there is a long way to go, but it is great to have a rallying cry, especially when our next game is away at the new home of the hateful Jose Mourinho up at Old Trafford.

Alexis told the official Arsenal website: “I think we’re even more determined to achieve something and win the Premier League, but you have to take it slow,”

“We have a great team, our ambitions are high and we want to win the league.

“We’ve got some new players and a fantastic squad. Regardless of who’s playing, we all need to be 100 per cent focused on our work with the team and the club.

“Sometimes you might have an off day and you need a player to come off the bench and help you out, so that’s why the squad players are just as important as the starting XI.

“Everything comes down to what happens from now on. All games are different and anything can happen in football.

“An important player might get injured – someone might leave, someone else might stay. It’s tough to keep it going, but if we stick together and keep putting the running in, I think this team can win it all.”

At least he really thinks that we have the ability to go all the way this season, but the competition is a lot tougher than during the last campaign. But then we are also much stronger too.

Can we really “win it all”?

  1. oh God! rumour circling that Alexis got injured in training and had to leave…. there goes our season.
hope No gooner is deluded enough to think we have a chance at the title with Giroud upfront
if Alexis is truly injured on the long term, with Lucas n Welbeck still out we ll need a miracle to finish 4th. with City,Chelsea,Liverpool,Spurs n even United vying for 4 spots

  2. I head a dream last night of me telling wenger to rest alexis more and play Giroud lol this morning i wake up and alexis tore his calf muscle? i really hope this is just a rumour

  3. No we don’t have what it takes to win it all. The striker position is still a problem. Both Giroud and Alexis have their flaws. Iwobi is a bright player, but we really need more goals and assists from the LW position. The confusion on who’s to be our midfield pairing is also likely going to be an unwanted distraction throughout the season.

  4. Alexis has lil flaws, he only drops too deep sometimes… Giroud is s&%t n it’s been proven for the past 4seasons.
the only way he might be useful is coming off the bench for headers, even with that we risk a huge drop in the tempo and urgency of our attack like vs Spurs.

I can’t believe some fans still dnt see this yet n some even unlike my previous comment?!! Goddamnit!

    1. Giroud hasn’t been poor the last four seasons, he just isn’t good enough to be our only dependable striker, which even his biggest fans would agree on. He still has a huge role to play starting against more resilient teams who he has traditionally done well against whereas Alexis has sometimes struggled, and also sub appearances.

For the record he was the only decent sub to come on against Spurs, it’s useless having 3/4 attacking players on when all they want to do is shoot and make rash decisions, whereas Giroud can make balls forward stick and bring our better players into play. Of course he has his limitations but that doesn’t discredit his positives, having a recognised permier league goalscorer available every game and off the bench is essential to success and longevity for any competitive team.

  6. new reports claim it’s a ‘low grade’ injury and could play on Tuesday against Uruguay. should be ready for United game.. phew!!
