Thomas Lemar rejects Arsenal and wants to join Liverpool instead

Arsenal are having great trouble landing any of their targets this summer with Jonny Evans rejecting a move to the Emirates, Kylian Mbappe going to Real Madrid, and Monaco rejecting every offer from the Gunners for Thomas Lemar even though we have increased our offer up to 100 million Euros.

It has been reported that the Ligue 1 champions finally accepted the massive offer from Arsenal for the 21 year old, but the player himself has made it clear that he would much rather join Liverpool. Could this be anything to do with the massive reversal Arsenal suffered at Anfield on Sunday? Or simply because the Reds beat Arsenal to a Champions League place by one point?

This is what the SkySports reporter Jim White has just tweeted….

This is beginning to look like a nightmare day for Arsenal fans, with all our players desperate to leave, but none of targets willing to come along and work under Wenger chasing the Europa League!

Well at least Arsene will have got his wish to trim the squad down to a manageable size….

  1. Liverpool are using this Oxlade-Chamberlain thing as a sign of weakness. If Wenger had been smart, he would’ve got in an Oxlade Chamberlain replacement before selling him, and taken the high ground. Now they are even having the cheek at trying to rub our nose in it over the Lemar deal, like they are still angry at the Suarez thing. And I remember all the rumours were that Klopp wanted to come to Arsenal. If we got Lemar and sold Alexis, it would still leave a bitter taste. The whole transfer window seemed to turn on Kroenke wanting a new loan for his stadium – http://www.football.london/arsenal-fc/news/kroenke-arsenal-transfers-mahrez-chamberlain-12883621, which was when the Lemar negotiations were dropped and Wenger started shouting “Sell, Sell, Sell!” Let no one be in no doubt of the huge damage Kroenke has done this club. The only hope is now he will sell it.

    1. Yes Kroenke is our biggest problem, absolutely no doubt about it.

Liverpool don’t need to prove anything or rub anything in our noses. If you go to AST site you will see they have closed in on us and soon we will be behind them, you cannot blame them for having more ambition and desire than us. We should act like Man United fans when they turned on their American owners, now the owners have taken action and spent as the fans demanded in the last 2-3 seasons.

The whole transfer window seemed to turn on Kroenke wanting a new loan for his stadium – can’t put the link in, which was when the Lemar negotiations were dropped and Wenger started shouting “Sell, Sell, Sell!” Let no one be in no doubt of the huge damage Kroenke has done this club. 1. Kroenke is a cancer that’s rapidly killing this once respected club . He is turning Arsenal into the laughing stock of the football world .

      1. Don’t worry, Barcelona are still the king of jokers in this transfer window….Arsenal are second though.

      2. Look ,I hate Kroenke and I accept he is probably raping Arsenal for his own ambitions but hello..
There are lots of clubs with limited budgets , wages etc and many are progressing better than us.
Look if someone came in ( not Wenger ) took just the total Arsenal finances situation. Looked at all the silly wages being paid to garbage players, sold them for whatever or released them for nothing , cleaned it all up and stuck the money in a box we would be better off.
We would not win the League but at least we could be like other clubs…Proud to be a fan

  3. Sadly unlike Man City , Liverpool and Tottenham who were able to attract top players without the lure of Champions league football Arsenal are not an ambitious and exciting prospect for the elite football players .

    1. I’m still surprised Wenger somehow fooled Lacazette into signing for Arsenal. He must be wishing he hadn’t at this point, not because the team is necessarily bad but because Wenger is making the club into laughing stock by playing Welbeck and Bellerin in front of him and Kolasinac in a big match, and leaving the transfer business for the last day. I don’t think Wenger really was in for signing Lemar, it’s all smoke an mirrors to fool the fans.

      1. Lacazette is on 200k per week my friend, trust me the only wish he has is that he joined Arsenal sooner.

        1. I have no answer as to why Lacazette did not play but here is a theory behind Bellerin and Ox playing in the wings and also not in their favored side. I think Arsene was trying to solve for the pace of Liverpool wing backs – Mane is more of a bull than Salah and he wanted Ox to counter that rather than Bellerin. Kolasnicac although pretty swift would never beat Salah in a foot race. That is the only reason I can think of.

  4. At the initail stage of transfer window, it was reported that Monaco priced him at £80, now the bid worth £90. Tge management did not learn anything from the past mistakes. Especially this year, one must identify their target early and cash in to lure their signature. Otherwise, the players values rapidly inflated which compelled the club to pay much higher… Really fed up of the club’s inactivity in every transfer window..

  5. Embarrassing!
    Annoying!
Fans should do the needful: Boycott Arsenal’s next 5 home games. Kroenke, Ivan and Wenger should leave the club. They are obviously worse and out of modern football reality.
Another tragedy and a bad day to AFC.

    1. Ibrahim Danlami Aliyu it’s not about d fans doing d needful and boycotting next 5 home games, they should boycott almost all d matches in d season hit Kroenke hard where it hurts d most his millions and maybe then maybe he might just sell d club to a group of people or person who is in because they love d game n as d mentality of winning and not just in for d money. What do you think.

  6. What are you guys smoking? Our squad is waynto bil and we need to get rid of several players unless we’re going to list some either in PL squad or EL and not both. I like Ox as a WB but he’s been unable to compete for a place in CM where he wants to play. Also, earlier in this transfer window, and last year’s, a number of the fans who now criticize Arsenal for selling Ox were desperate for Arsenal to off load him.
I’d like for us to bring in VVD while keeping Mustafi – a back three of Mustafi, VVD and Koscielny would be outstanding. Debuchy have never recovered from the injury and has been unable to challenge a Bellerin. As Jenkinson is on loan and I see Chambers as more of a CB, Reiss Nelson will have to be Bellerin’s back up. On the LB, we have both Monreal and Kolasinac- a very good pair. We also need a successor to Cazorla whilst Xhaka either need to step up or get replaced in January. He makes way to many misplaced passes when unpressed as well as gets some stupid cards. Welbeck has had a poor start to this season and needs to up his game.

    1. Thank you – some sense in all this madness. Wenger and our club has made so many mistakes in the last 12 months that it is difficult to see anything positive now but the team is still decent. One cannot have WC players everywhere but we seem to have completely ignored the defensive side of things (get top class defensive players) for the last 2 years I think. And I am confident that the situation will not change till Wenger is here – He needs to go! Period

  7. That Lemar transfer bullshit was the last straw for me. I have supported Arsenal since 1970. I am done with this mickey mouse club. Any team owner who lets the team go to shit this bad needs to be kicked out by the FA. I am so embarrassed to tell anybody that I supported Arsenal for this long. This is without a doubt the most unprofessional sports team I have ever encountered in my 55 years of life. Thank you Mr.Wenger, Mr.Kroenke and also Mr.Gazidis. When Arsenal missed out on a UCL berth last year Ivan Gazidis told the media and all the fans that things were going to be different this year. Silly me, I thought that meant things were going to get better now 10X worse. Maybe relegation is what is needed to wake those greedy bastards up. This is going to take years to fix. I am not waiting around. Good-bye Arsenal.

    1. i understand how you feel and agree with everything you said but you know, your club’s for life. I started following Arsenal in ’57 and we didn’t win nothing until that greatest of all nights at Highbury in ’69 when we came back from a 3-1 first leg deficit in front of 60000 to beat Anderlecht 3-0. You’re long time loyal fan, don’t worry ,we’ll rise again as soon as we get rid of this fraudulent mob the run our club at the moment. It will happen. Good luck to you.

  8. I don’t give a s**t about Thomas Lemar , he can choose whatever the f**k he wants ! It’s none of our business ! the only Thomas that i care about is Thomas Tuchel because he can be a great successor to Wenger ! but i doubt he wants to become Kroenke’s pet like Wenger ! so first we should get Kroenke out of our club !

    #KroenkeOut

    1. How do we do that? Uramov couldn’t even get rid of him since he refuses to be bought out. Sadly only death will probably seperate the parasite that is Kroenke. I’m not suggesting murder, you understand, I just don’t see him stepping down or walking away whilst he’s breathing.

  9. Liverpool is now attracting players than arsenal, ofcus nobody wants to join the sinking ship, if Wenger have bid 70m for Lemar after signing lacazette I’m sure Monaco would accept it, but now is panic bid and we r in crisis and Lemar is refusing us.
I think it’s hard time Wenger step down and so called kranoke, bcus it’s obvious no player wants to work with Wenger.

  10. If we can convince the prominent fans on arsenalfantv like DT, Kelechi, Claude etc to actually rant into boycotting games; maybe it would work. I think that’s the best platform.
Arsenal is a disgrace. Really it’s in a very big mess

  11. More important thing is the players with prime focus is football are leaving us. For instance Chamberlain rejects 180000 weekly wages offered by us and join Liverpool for 120000. Monaco wants to sell Lemar to Arsenal for 90 million and Wenger & co. wanted to buy for to save their face but Lemar decided not to join Arsenal because it’s a many step backwards in his career. On the other hand greedy Wallcot and players like him still continue with Arsenal simply because they know they are overpaid. To be precisely more income less work. This is what this old man doing with his favourite club. Pathetic, embarrassing, humiliation. Worst part is more to expect through out the season until Kroenke, Wenger and Ivan leaves.

  12. ….i remember the day we signed Lacazzete and several people here were celebrating like crazy, and i reminded them to wait until the last day of the transfer window they thumbed me down like no tommorrow, wonder where are they now.!!

    1. What, you mean the Lacazette that scored within 90 seconds of his first premier league game. lol.Lacazette is a good player. Signing good players should be celebrated. We are yet to see him play with Sanchez. Now that Sanchez will be playing for us this season Lacazette will improve our attack.

Yes it’s unfortunate that we didn’t get more signings but it could just be he case of using better tactics, new formation and playing players in the right position to get back to winning ways.

  13. Wenger in Paris talks to Lemar: We’ll give you £180000 will you sign for us. Lemar: Definitely not, I want to play for Liverpool in the Champions League. Wenger talks to Gazidis: Put in a record bid of £92 million. Gazidis: We can’t pay that amount of money. Wenger: Don’t worry, the fans don’t know that. JUST ANOTHER LIE LIKE THE MBAPPE OFFER

  14. We don’t need Thomas Lemar or Draxler. All we ever needed was Kante/Matic in midfield and a top CB. How we have managed to f**k it up over the last 2 years is astonishing. Is Ozil going btw to Barcelona? I hope he does

  15. Back to the title…That makes Thomas a rather smart fellow…Staying at Monaco this season, being a team leader, and amping up his valuation is also a very good outcome for him.
