THREE reasons why Arsenal MUST drop Szczesny!

Why Szczesny Must Be Dropped From The Arsenal Starting Eleven! by AT

It seems as though the Arsenal keeper Wojciech Szczesny is another one of those talented young players who just cannot stay out of trouble. The reports of the Polish international smoking in the showers comes at the back of a disastrous performance against Southampton and one can begin to speculate about the future of the outspoken Pole with both his behaviour and performances coming into question.

Arsenal have a very worthy second-choice keeper in Colombia’s World Cup hero David Ospina, who produced a solid performance against Hull City in the FA Cup last weekend. While the 26-year-old has been unlucky with injuries so far in his Arsenal career, he is finally fit and I believe he should get a run in the first-team. Ospina was simply sensational in the World Cup and the Gunners can benefit abundantly should the former Nice keeper replicate the red-hot form he showed to help Colombia reach the Quarter-Finals of the competition.

There are THREE reasons why I think Szczesny should be dropped. The first one being that he is way too cocky and he seems to be of the opinion that he has a permanent spot nailed down for him in the Gunners’ starting eleven. I can think of so many occasions where he tries to beat an on-rushing player instead of just getting rid of the ball, he simply takes too many risks. Second, his decision-making is woeful. While he was lucky on many occasions, it wasn’t his lucky day against the Saints. And finally, his behaviour needs to be rectified, plain and simple.

Don’t get me wrong, I have in no way given up on Szczesny, I just feel that he needs an attitude adjustment and that is what’s best for both the player and the club. While the young Pole is certainly capable of pulling off a world-class save, I really think he needs to be given time off to get his basics right. Now although his outspoken father will not be too happy about it, I think Wenger should put his foot down and give Ospina his chance.

  1. How many reasons did you bring for Ramsey to be dropped??? Huh? I am not a fan of Wojciech Bite-me, but I think he should be given one last chance, unlike Ramsey who was allowed to play every game, as if he were a shareholder.

    1. Not even sure what you are arguing… I’m pretty sure every single fan was saying Ramsey should be benched because of his awful performances (even though there was sympathy because he was played on the wings).

Szcz on the other hand seems to have his position actually guaranteed for no real reason; Fabianski was unlucky with injuries not to keep him on the bench, Ospina hasn’t had a chance and won’t get one if we don’t even bench Szcz when he is awful (nvm the smoking), even Martinez came in with a couple clean sheets but was benched after one mediocre performance.

    2. no chance….

Chances shld be given to Ospina…

or else Ospina will leave the club as he can easily play first team football elsewhere…

  2. 3 reasons

    1. His head is up his own arse: not great for keeping your eye on the ball.

    2. It’s bad for his health when the opposition scores. Drinks vodka from his bottle immediately after goal and then smokes in the showers (with water and clothes on).

    3. His dad will freak out big time and will demand a bare knuckle fight with Wenger.

  3. Soton was not the first poor game he had. There have been at least 2 others games where he rushed out of goal like a clown and was lucky to get away with it.

Drop him before he has another poor game.

  4. Let david ospina start in goal! It would be unfair to him, give the guy a chance for him to show his worth! Coyg!

  5. Drop the mouthy ****. He gets away with far more than he would under other too managers like Fergie and Mourinho.
How his dad gets any input also is beyond me – he can fcuk off.
I’m sure loyal as a dog Wenger will keep playing him though – big mistake imo

  6. MAUREEN switched keepers by playing Cech instead of Courtois after the latter was massacred by the SPUDS…btw Cech saved Chels..it with few good stops that could have decided the game, wish we should consider him.
My point is Zzzzny with his deficiencies still deserves a chance, allowing Ospina to play this game seemed logical, Zzzzzny is feeling the fatigue of the tight schedule and on the paper we have a World class Keeper to back him up.
Going back to Cech, he is a goalkeeper that showed consistency and still does, ZZzzny is a Russian roulette you never know
