Tottenham bigger than Arsenal? Don’t make me laugh!

Spuds bigger than Arsenal? Are you having a laugh? by Geoff Wood

The last time Tottenham won the FA Cup was in 1991, since then we have won it 7 times. The last time they won the league was 1961, since then we have won it 5 times. The last time they finished above us was 1995 which is 21 years ago.

This year they will finish above us in the league and we will play yet another FA Cup final. We have paid for a football stadium and they are still building one, we get 60,000 in our ground each week against their fluctuating number between 30,000 and 34,000.

Yet for some weird reason the football world thinks the power in North London has shifted to them.

Their highest paid player earns less than most of our average players, their average players earn less than our reserves, so what happens when their bigger players want paying what other players in the EPL get?

That will be funny when their players begin exiting in their droves, like all their big names do, Modric, Berbatov, Bale to name three.

I really like watching the spuds, especially this weekend when the cameras focussed on their fans at the final whistle, however the greatest close up was when the held the camera on Levy, that beat all!

I’m delighted to have reached the FAS Cup final and what with Liverpool losing and the Manc derby taking place this week, we can maybe hope again.

I still want Wenger to go but that’s for another day. All said and done I’m an Arsenal fan and we are on our way to Wemberly and we shall not be moved!

Have that Spurs!

Geoff

  1. Modric , Berbatov , Bale left Spuds

    .

Van persie , Henry , Fabregas left Arsenal

    .

    Something in common i guess……

  2. Yawn, Yawn, Yawn, Yawn, same old lines, same old stories, heard it all before… football has a much longer history than just the start of the arsenal glory days. Spurs have a young team of , up until recently, virtually unknowns, now offers are coming in of world breaking sums of money, can arsenal boast that?, have we lost to the worst ever defeat in ucl history?, have we spent most of the season out of the top 4?, the FA cup is far from won so no cigar just yet. have our fans disgracefully told our greatest manager in history to get out under protest?, are our players demanding huge wage increases or they don’t play simply because they think they deserve it? our superb ground is coming so no argument there. Maybe not a total power shift as yet but a huge change and it’s rattling arse fans to the core. Arsenal are a club in decline and it’s great to watch. keep spouting the same old garbage, it’s great to read hahaha

    1. @ The Spud troll ?

I will be licking my fingers at the end of the seasons ??
      ?
      ⚽️ = ????

We are stuck in GroundHog Days, which means St Trottingham Day will come to pass, as per usual ??

You Spuds were all boasting this time last season but you will never learn.? I can’t Wait for Palace to slap that smile off your face and then when we come and take a dump at the lane, you will start to believe in your fate… Again. Forever in our shadow!
      COYG’s ??

  3. Does Leicester finishing above Arsenal last season and wining the league make them bigger or greater club than Arsenal ?
What parameters do u use in judging a big club ?

  4. Hey, the season is not over yet. If Palace beat the Spuds which they could, after winning away at Liverpool and if we Beat Leicester, the mood in the camps would shift into Arsenal’s favour and with the NLD up next, we would have a great opportunity to knock the stuffing out of their proud rooster on a ball and send it running off to KFC to hide in a bargain bucket. We still have 21 points to play for and we all know that Arsenal always finish the seasons on a decent winning run. Our GroundHog Days has its good omens too, so why shouldn’t we expect to finish above the Spuds lol … It’s going to happen whether you appreciate it or not. ?

  5. Good read, its about time some of the overpaid, overreacting pundits remembered some of these stats!

This is our worst season in 20 years yet we are still in the cup final and could still finish above Man Utd and Liverpool. Perspective!

  6. They might have an exciting first 11 and are playing some beautiful football than us at the moment but that’s about it. Credit where its due, it seems Levy finally got it right on Poch (although he is yet to win anything).

“Their highest paid player earns less than most of our average players, their average players earn less than our reserves” I don’t see how you can bush them on this one, its not there fault we pay useless players WC wages only for them to underperform.

  7. lets be honest and realistic…

Spud are bigger than us but only for this season….

they have been consistent and done well

We got to give them credit when its due…

Come next season..we will have a new manager and a string of new quality players

We shall give them a good hammering next season….

    1. You are not going to get a string of new, quality players as you will not finish in the top 4 this season. I personally can’t wait to see the mass exodus at the end of this season due to a lack of champions league football! Arsenal will take at least 5 seasons to develop a side with a chance of winning the title, especially when Wenger gets his new contract. You gunners are so boring, you are starting to sound like Liverpool fans. I would be a little jealous of the Spur side as they are young and play good football. Keep copying and pasting these stats as it reiterates the fact that the best is now behind you!

  8. Arsenal is bigger than Tottenham, but Tottenham has more talented players in this season. Especially Mousa Dembele, I think he is way more talented and dominant in the field than Xhaka, Elneny, Ozil, Ramsey or Wilshere. If Arsenal can get him or another dominant box-to-box midfielder like him next season, it would be a great addition to our squad.

  9. I am a Spurs supporter but not your Arsenal hater type. Spurs are doing well at the moment and about time I guess but Arsenal are still the bigger club if you like. Whatever that means of course? Arsenal will be back to challenge the league soon enough and I hope Spurs are still their too . Im bored of these buy it clubs like Chelsea, Man City and Man U . Thats no way to be proud of winning something . Arsenal and Spurs do it the right way . Id love to see Spurs win the title and Arsenal next (because I am a Spud lol) and keep these money chucking teams out of the top spots. .

    1. FairPlay ?
But Im guessing that your a sly Arsenal hater, who slips the boot in when no one is looking ?

I bet you wouldn’t be complaining if your club could afford to splash the cash on players that would enhance your chances of winning Major trophies? ? and I very much that you would be bored if you kept winning them as well? ??

      1. Lol , too old to worry about it all tbh . I never stood up to hate Arsenal at the lane and honestly I dont hate Arsenal which really annoys some of my fellow spuds. Of course it would be nice to win something but not with a team full of overpriced mercenaries.

Good luck in the FA cup final have a nice day out and do the Chelsky

  10. @ admin

You need to get rid of that “No Spud sign” at the top ⬆️ ?
And hopefully once you have saved up enough ???? for your conservatory, new car and holidays to Barbados ? you can revert back to keeping this site as an JustArsenal one ??

  11. As a Spurs fan, it’s great to see the team improve and no one can argue there has been improvement in the last 2-3 seasons, whoever you support. Whether the power is shifting in North London, is too premature to say as Arsenal have consistently finished above Spurs in recent years and won more trophies, that is fact. This article does make some valid points but so do the comments from both Spurs and Arsenal fans, such as some of Arsenal fans leaving to go to bigger clubs or clubs that pay more. For me this is a period of re-building the Spurs team, by Pochittino and Levy is rebuilding the business and the stadium all hopefully for long terms success, only time will tell. COYS!

  12. Only a total moron would deny that Arsenal have been top dogs in North London for the whole of Wenger’s twenty-year tenure, but that doesn’t automatically make them ‘bigger’ than Spurs. It’s only a couple of years since their average league attendance over their history overtook that of Tottenham (even with a ground almost twice as big), and I’m old enough to remember Highbury boasting a crowd of 4,000 for a league match in 1966! In 1982 our league average was 35000 against Arsenal’s 25000, and the pendulum used to swing from N17 to N4 and back regularly until you got lucky with Wenger (one of the truly great managers) while we fell into the clutches of ENIC, and we all know the rest – is it going to be different this year? I doubt it – you’re not ‘lucky arsenal’ for nothing.

  13. Mediocrity will continue to be the norm with Wenger in charge
In a unimpressed performance Arsenal overpowered in extra time an undecided Manchester City
    Lucky Wenger
For those who are thinking that things now

will be different …….I dont know….

    I will wait and see

  14. I don’t care about who is the bigger club. I care about who is the better team. Let’s just beat them next weekend and end their dreams of a PL title.
