Tottenham v Arsenal Match Preview, Line-up and Score Prediction

Arsenal make the shortest of trips across North London to take on big rivals Spurs with both sides scrapping for points.

Tottenham are currently in a two-horse race to win the Premier League this season, sitting only four points behind fellow London rivals Chelsea, with only five matches remaining. Arsenal on the other hand are in a four-way battle to cement their place in the top-four, and currently sit five points behind Man City in fourth.

Today’s match will be the last of it’s kind in White Hart Lane, with Tottenham set to move into Wembley next term while their new home is being completed on the same land as the previous arena.

We don’t come into the match on favourable terms, with much the worst form, and with many of our fans against us and the manager, but after three consecutive wins, we will have built up some confidence ahead of the big game.

We are awaiting news on whether Laurent Koscielny will be deemed fit enough to feature, and without him we could be in for serious trouble. We are already without Shkodran Mustafi in defence. Santi the Cazorla, David Ospina, Lucas Perez and Reine-Adelaide are also missing with injury.

Predicted XI:

Cech
Gabriel  Holding  Koscielny/Monreal
Ox  Xhaka  Elneny  Gibbs
Ozil  Alexis
Giroud

Despite Tottenham’s eight-match winning streak in the Premier League, they took a painful blow in being eliminated from the FA Cup last weekend, and I think we can take advantage of that.

I don’t think I’m being biased in thinking we have a great chance of hurting our noisy neighbours today, and if Koscielny does make it, I even feel a win coming.

I’m going for a 2-1 win for our boys, but without Kosc it could easily be 2-2.  Alexis will get us up and running in the first-half, but I feel Harry Kane will be adding to his tally of goals in derby matches…

What are your predictions for today?

  1. I want us to win, or draw. Not because we need the points. Not because I hate Tottenham. Only because I don’t want Spurs to be anywhere near the title. It would be a travesty if they somehow nicked it.

    1. Ouch!……… Touching……… If the title were half as important to us as it is to the spuds, why didn’t we work towards grabbing it?

      .
Now y’all on knees praying and Hoping the spuds don’t win it….
      .
The football gods must be angry with us!

  2. Lol, without kos 2-2.

You just as deluded as Wenger.

Nothing but a Spurs win today, they are the far superior team, as much as it pauns me to admin.

Sanchez wi be the only player making spurs side and maybe kos.

    1. Tbh I think we have some very special players, but we need the right manager to get them to perform.

      1. Nope, your first comment is correct. Only Sanchez could make the Spurs side. Maybe Cazzorla and Iwobi as well.

If you really pay attention to how Arsenal’s players play, only Sanchez, Cazorla and Iwobi that are able to possess the ball for more than three touches consistently. The other players can only possess the ball for maximum two touches, before releasing it to their nearest teammate quickly.

Most of Premiere League players play with this basic of football, maybe because they are lacking of ball control skills or do not have the bravery to keep the ball and waiting for better chances.

Chelsea and Tottenham, Premiere League title challengers, will never beat an in-form Barcelona from an open play. They can only beat a world class team like Barca by “parking the bus” (total defensive counter attack tactic) or by using set pieces (penalties, corners and free kicks). That’s how different the qualities of Premiere League and La Liga are.

        1. A fit Cazorla would walk into any team in the EPL, saying he MIGHT is just idiocracy.
Kos is one of the best CB in the world and would get into that squad.
Iwobi can’t get into the Arsenal squad but he would get into the spuds?????

It is easy to slander players when they are going through a bad patch, a supporter though would SUPPORT them and not lose their minds.

Spuds have a good def but you watch them and you will see the CM is a big reason for that, Kos and Mustafi was doing better when Cazorla was fit… We didn’t lose a game with those 2 at CB and Cazorla was fit.

Xhaka has been hot and cold but I am not surprised as he hasn’t yet had 12 months to learn the language and get settled, when he plays well though he can hold onto the ball and just muscle others off the ball. Shame we didn’t get Kante to play alongside him as I bet Xhaka would have had a much better season alongside a decent CM.

On recent form not many Arsenal players would get into many top teams but when they are in form they would, we can say the same thing about other teams as well… Doesn’t mean the players are not goof enough at all… Just not good enough in current form.

  3. This is Wenger final game vs Spud and final game at White Hart Lane

    Wenger’s final North London Derby

    Its over

    1. I’d say that was a fair bet although if we don’t turn up as we have the habit of doing for some matches then we could get embarrassingly spanked good and proper.

  4. I think it be 1-1 today but it be a close match I hope Koscienly plays as well, I think Alexis will score for us but Kane will equalise for spurs
    Come on you gunners

  5. I don’t think Koscielny will be fit today or he will be forced to play. I hope today Monreal can perform well as usual, otherwise we are left with Mertesacker. I would like to see Iwobi instead of Ozil, because usually Iwobi has more energy and better ball possession, but Ozil is not going to be dropped. Hopefully Arsenal can keep their passes and shots accurate today.

      1. Bayern don’t want to play Arsenal. They got tired of scoring

  6. Know the history (if you don’t already):

    hTeeTeePS://www.fourfourtwo.com/us/features/ambition-invasion-and-dead-parrot-why-arsenal-vs-tottenham-more-game

    Norris was our abrahimovich!
We need that investment to grow and be the best again and it isn’t happening with Kroenke

    1. Thanks Swansea ? Even Mo boring the Fergi time watch couldn’t save Utd from dropping points ( 7 minutes added on)

      ?We love the favours?
      ? We Do?
      ?We love the favours?
      ? We Dooooo?
      ?We love the favours?
      ? We Do?
      ?Oh favours, we love you?

      City next ?

  7. Robbie from Fan tv just praying to god for a win today in a video ..against Spurs to get
to 4th place ….thanks Wenger look what you did to the fans
    Wenger Out!!!

  8. I’m going to go with a 3-2 win, I don’t think this will end as a 0-0 or a 1-0 to one of the teams, I think there will be a few goals to watch.

  9. Mediocrity will continue to be the norm with Wenger in charge.

My prediction are correct!! thumbs up

Wenger out!!!! Spurs 2 Arsenal ladies 0
