Tottenham’s Alli and Kane make Arsenal look like kids

Arsenal were expected to make a game of the North London Derby but we  were treated to a weak-kneed display from the Gunners. In the first half Spurs were the better side, and missed a couple of excellent chances, badly. But Arsenal came did look like they were trying in the last 15 minutes, with Ramsey and Sanchez starting to influence things. But there was little support from the so-called stars of Ozil and Giroud and it was just a small consolation from a terrible performance.

We weren’t losing at the end of the first half so we always had the hope that they could sneak a goal when we got to the break at even stevens, but the second half quickly made it obvious we had no chance whatsoever.

Just ten minutes after the rrestart, in two crazy minutes Dele Alli Forced home a chance created by Eriksen, and immediately afterwards Harry Kane took advantage of Gabriel’s leg to persuade the ref to give him a penalty. Kane duly converted and the game was over as the Gunners never really looked like breaking down the Tottenham defence.

I could go into individual performances which made the Arsenal team look like they really didn’t want to win it. I will talk about the game more later but right now, Tottenham are still in the title race; Arsenal are in serious doubt of finishing Top Six, never mind Top Four.

And I’m emarrassed and depressed…..

  1. I can’t believe how bad Ramsey is. He messes most of his passes and then to top it off he smiles.
Thanks to Cech this wasn’t embarassing for us.
This team requires major surgery in the summer.
Don’t think we can finish top 4 now.

      1. Ramsey not horrendous today, is the best compliment i can give him. And its only a compliment because so many other players were so worse and complete garbage. Ramsey gets called out though because he’s consistently trash.

          1. Theo got 11 season and still sh***, ramsey, gibbs, ox, coq, how man season? Its xhakas first season, give the lad another half a season.

            1. I wouldn’t give him another half a game. He’s a con-man…pretends to be tough, never puts his body on the line. Watch the first goal today…no attempt to block Alli…just stood with his hands by his side.
Only time I see him putting in effort is when he complains about one of his awful tackles being called a foul (or usually a booking.
A central midfielder who’s been told not to tackle?
              Get rid.

        1. To me the real worrying issue is it points to the lack of depth in our squad and the lack of awareness in our manager when we are left with only the likes of Ramsey, Giroud, and Walcott (to mention a few) from which to assemble a match day team. Everyone knows it apart from the Gaffer…the squad is not good enough, the training and tactics are inept and the table doesn’t lie.

      2. The fact that we could NOT manage to win any away games in the top 8 shows how badly we have declined.

        #WengerOut #CrapPlayersOut

Change is what we need, enough is enough

      1. I promise Ramsey is our future Wenger said so himself and he is our future as well. No need to thumb me down. 🙂

    1. Yes major surgery starting with the french frog manager.2 more years of him and Arsenal FC will be doomed, doomed, doomed.

  2. Ozil needs to be sold till he has some value. Way too many back passes.
Comparing him to Eriksen makes me laugh because he is leagues below Eriksen.

  3. A decade of stagnation, but the lever’s finally broken. Long time coming, Arsenal is an average club going in the wrong direction. Let’s see if the board listens to the fans and decides to do anything to stop it. Sadly, I’m not very optimistic about that. Wenger will continue to drag this club through the mud. His reputation is quickly being destroyed. MOTM Cech because we should’ve been demolished.

  4. That was Bush League right there
    Total Bush League performance

We were lucky we lost 2-0 and not by more

    1. Ramsey does stink but he was at least positive on the ball today and tried to make something happen. Ozil… somebody tell me what is the purpose of him being on the pitch? Xhaka just makes bad tackles, Giroud is a lamppost again. Ramsey most games gives the ball away and is all around terrible, but was a bit better today. Still below average just like everyone else besides Cech, but I find it interesting this is the game people are going mad about Ramsey when he’s had way way worse performances. Still needs to be sold because he clearly doesnt cut it.

  5. Our best player , per cech. A player trained by jose and Chelsea
Our most passionate player, welbeck. A player trained under sir alex and Manchester united.

Rest can just go and sleep

  6. From a small memorable stadium with a great team to a large 5 star stadium with a crap team.

    Doesn’t make sense whatsoever!

    1. Real madrid must still be laughing at the 42 they made for flogging us that useless piece of s##t.

  7. First time in Premier League history that spuds have finished above us.
We looked inept and bereft of attacking ideas, defended like amateurs and if it was not for Czech we would have lost by six.

  8. What a disgrace of a performance, and I’m not surprised about it. The whole team stank! RAMSEY was on another planet. He needs to go. Kept missing his passes, his movement was non-existence, his drive to win back the ball was non evident. What a shit player. Ozil was his usual self. Only player who keep working hard was Sanchez. We will be luck to get 6th this season.

    1. sanchez is so selfish now though. No trust in his teammates anymore. This whole squad is a walking disaster.

      1. His selfish because your right he can’t trust his team mate to do the job. I won’t be surprised at the end of the season he will leave for a better club. And I won’t blame him.

        1. agree. It’s definitely a result of being let down over and over by the players around him. He may not even want to run down his contract, might just want out ASAP at this rate.

  9. I’ve seen Alexis give up possession so many times game after game, am I the only one that notices that?

Also hear ex-players like Dixon say he couldn’t play with a player like Özil in front of him without sorting him out…

    1. Its what RSH said, Sanchex simply doesnt trust anyone in the team and has given up passing to them.

      1. I agree but plenty of times could have made the easy pass instead of losing it. Make them lose it and not himself time after time. Can’t be any worse, since most of his turnovers lead to counterattacks for the other team.

  10. Tottenham’s players had more guts to possess the ball on their feet more than Arsenal’s players, that was why they were more controlling, created more clear chances and fully deserved this win. It was amazing to see how Tottenham’s defenders played Arsenal’s attackers to chase the ball around in vain, not quickly kick the ball to the target man like what Arsenal did. This means Tottenham’s defender were gifted with good ball control skill and confidence. This was what I meant on the importance of having more players that can possess the ball for at least three touches consistently.

Wenger and his staffs should learn from younger managers like Pochettino, on how Pochettino was able to find such talented players with lower prices and salaries. I hope Wenger and his staffs will take this match as a good lesson, as Tottenham side also used 3-4-2-1. Winning or losing should not matter anymore, since Arsenal will not get the title, but they can take valuable lesson from these experiments.

      1. I hope he would watch the replay of this game, then hopefully he will see the difference between how Tottenham’s players and Arsenal’s players play. It is time for Arsenal to move up from playing with the basics of football.

Arsenal can use any formation or put six defenders in front of the goalkeeper, the result would be similar, because the players’ qualities are simply standard. Arsenal will never regain the title if most of their players cannot even possess the ball for more than two touches and always release the ball quickly because of the fear of losing it.

Most Premiere League and English football teams are still playing with this basic football, but at least Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester City are heading to the right direction to increase their levels. If Arsenal is stagnant, I think those three clubs will surpass Arsenal’s achievements.

        1. I have learned I am the smartest manager in football. One and half bad seasons and all my rivals are fired, me?, 10 of them in a row and I get offered a new contract 🙂

    1. When Vertonghen and Alderweireld were available I remember thinking they would be great for Arsenal. Many people on Just Arsenal alluded to this too. We could have out-bid Tottenham with our superior finances. Still cannot understand why Arsenal ended-up with neither of them.

      1. I have longed for Vertoghen after we concluded the Vermaelen deal, I’m still in bewilderment why we never went for him. I also don’t get why we have this “renowned” scouting network.

  11. Its Always depressing losing against the Spuds, even though it comes around once a Hayley’s comet. ? I suppose we better get used to it because without major changes it’s going happen more frequently.

Ty from Arsenal fan TV blames Planet X, for the power shift.?

  12. I am an Arsenal fan and my wish of not seeing Arsenal in the Champions League is coming through – we are not good enough. My additional wish of seeing the total humiliation of Wenger is nearing fruition. The only way to correct a man who is too stubborn for his own good is total humiliation. Thanks you Spurs for today for helping push our dream of getting rid of Wenger. Wait for Wenger to come up with another set of stupid excuses. I can bet on that.

    1. Ur just sh**e for wishing what u wished for. No matter how much i want wenger to leave and take all sh**ty players with him, i never wish my team to lose.

        1. Even if the manager and the 11 players on the pitch were the 12 person i hate the most in the world, i’d never wish for my DARLING AFC to lose any match for watever reason.

          1. We do not wish to lose becewe enjoy losing…we do it because that is the only way Wenger will leave. If we win we will find ourselves in this same position next season. Think of it like a trapped wolf biting off its own limb to survive

  13. I’m not being harsh but please explain why ozil is WC they may me down of show me stats today of what he did. The reason I’m picking on him is he is supposed to be the star of the team. He plays every week and goes missing in any tough game

Czech and ox had decent games other than that very poor

And wenger doesn’t seem to know how to change things

    1. Wenger Out Out Out! ???
Come back Mantak, all is forgiven ? I will download your track ?

  14. Awful performance but was expected this team should be nowhere near the Champions league especially with Wenger in charge, we’ve been humiliated enough over the years! 6th place finish looming and a new 3 year deal for the clueless one with a hefty pay rise. Ps Michael Oliver is an absolutely terrible ref some of that guys decisions is shocking.

  15. Alexis was scoring consistently when he was up front

Alexis is a better CF than Giroud and Webeck

If we kept Alexis up front he would be on 25 goals by now

    1. That is not the Wenger way.
You see something that is working well and is successful.
Then change it so it isnt…
      Wenger’s formula for failure…

    1. Yes! Lets get messi, ronaldo, griezmann, bonucci and de gea. Maybe we can get simeone too. Damn! we need some 6 more players for the first 11.

    2. Top Class? ?? we got no chance of that if Wenger is sticking around. According to him we already have a squad full of Top Top Top players ?
Oh well, talking of Top.. we can kiss the Top four goodbye and try and embrace the Europa league next season, whether we like it or not the FA cup final will book our ticket into that competition, even if we lose in the final against Chelsea.

      #Forkoffwenger

  16. I am just beyond words now.
Even though he claims to be oblivious to criticism surely he must understand that once you have lost the support of your fan base it is time to move on – it becomes unsustainable to remain in post.
It is time for Gazidis to DO HIS JOB – Arsenal comes before AW and his ego.

  17. Today’ game certainly showed the difference between quality of players and manager as well…. Both teams were operating with same system of 3-4-2-1 hence they were cutting each other in tactics so as game progresses Spurs came on Top so it certainly shows how quality squad they have in there squad…. Giroud and Ramsey were Horrible…. Ox was really disappointing…. Why Holding kept ourt of game was million dollars question…. Welbeck should have been in starting line up instead of Giroud…. Gabriel Challenge was pathetic… Kane was moving away from goal and the touch he made on ball too heavy that he wouldn’t be able control it later on then Gabriel put leg across Kane to invite him touch… It was reckless challenge… Best player for Arsenal was Cech otherwise it could have been 5 or 6 and those couple of missed chances from Spurs otherwise Ganesh would have ended in -1st half itself….
Pathetic am from Arsenal and Wenger…

  18. I hang my head in shame this even beats the 10-2 defeat to Bayern. If Wenger still thinks Arsenal are King’s of North London he need’s to see a Doctor. 4 shots on target and there was more power in a fizz bag. Arsenal can’t defend can’t score they won’t go far. Wenger and the Board are an embarrassment to Arsenal and they must go Now not at the end of the season but right now.

  19. Wenger’s lost it, must go.
Even lower teams can organise and work hard in a system they understand.
We have no organisation, no spirit, no plan.
I’m sorry for AW, he seems a sad character now….he should have taken the example of Sir Alex and got out when he had some dignity.
Please resign now Arsene, for the good of the club you’ve worked so hard for.

  20. Sound like a broken record here BUT!

    Had enough of:
    Gibbs
    Gabriel
    Ramsey
    Giroud
    Walcott
    Coquelin

Why are these players still here?
    Debuchy
    Mertesacker
    Sanogo
    Jenkinson
    Campbell

    We need an upgrade on:
    Ospina
    Monreal
    Bellerin
AND ALL THE OTHERS LISTED ABOVE!

      1. While I agree Wenger needs to go as well, I’ve heard ex-players say Wenger was never a big talker in the changing room and it was the players that sorted the crap out. One thing I will definitely blame him for though is recruiting this crap and sticking with them for sooooo many years. Simply put its time for change!

      2. Replace wenger and most of them will become beast in their own right. Wengers the reason. Xhaka had a beast of a left foot, wheres that gone?

  21. We are told on a regular basis that you can only get top players when you play in the CL. Lorris, Vertongen, Eriksen still went to spurs.

    1. Pochetino made them into great players.
I suspect that certain players would improve considerably if Wenger were to leave..

  22. If spurs win the league will make the arsenal London supporters to wake up than from now on I’ll support spurs to win the league.

London fans wake up and force for change.

    Wenger out……..

    1. You are definitely not an Arsenal fan, you are a disgrace and a poor example of a human being.

  23. It’s just so damn depressing now… what are we going to do? We know wenger has signed that bloody 2 year deal, so technically, we have another 2 years of this complete horse sh#t. Please, please, please start the biggest protest in football history.

  24. Don’t worry Sam P will soon come out with a post explaining why things are going better than last year and I am sure someone else will soon writing an article on how we can still finish 4th.

  25. Thon man wenger is away off the mark. He says we lack confidence is it confidence in him. Yes yes yes yes!!!!!!! Go go go go go go just go wenger.

  26. Wenger: Palace beat is 3-0. Therefore Palace > spurs

  27. 90 million invested in the squad after the fiasco that was last year and we still start the game with good old Giroud and Ramsey? How did that work out?

Guess who will start against them next year?

  28. We have sold very very good players on and they all have won major trophies with their new clubs. But us we have settled into a quagmire. We are pure dung.

  29. Play Sunday league and the ONLY Arsenal fan on my team.

Skipping today’s game, not in the mood to hear it, not today.

  30. Did you hear Wenger after the game the same old CRAP coming out of him. I happened once in 20 years he is still hanging on to the Past. It time to move on Arsenal need a new Manager and a New Board. Wenger and the Board out. I am sick the Spuds have overtaken Arsenal and this is down to Management.

    1. I just watched that interview and to be honest mate, it wasn’t as if Wenger was all calm and happy about the result. If anything I kinda felt sorry for the old guy, he was getting grilled and Once again HIS players let hm down big time.

  31. well at least there is something to be gotten out of this game guys !. wenger has once again proven that he is a tactical genius. lets face it, he brought on belerin when we were two nil down . who else in the world would have the balls to make such a decision , only wenger!!. we hold what we do not have i could hear him say in my mind , i swear i could , in that ridicilous accent he has .we are on a roll lads, we looked like a championship side i must admit . and a midtable championship side at that . no leadership, no tactics, no heart, no passion, no clue no manager.

  32. It is up to us the fans to force wenger out. Nothing is going to change with him . He is antiquated, deluded, visionless and doing my nut in. Arsenal supporters should vote with their feet and penalise the board in their pockets. When the money stops coming in things will change. But then again you wouldnt need millions to stay in the bottom half of the league. That’s all we are now. Cannon fodder.

  33. Is there anyone else who also thinks Big Sam would get more out of this squad than Wenger?

(and I don’t mean during a clandestine meeting with a dubious character)

  34. If there is any body out there who thinks AW is still the man that can do the job of taking Arsenal to the next level, well this season is ur answer. If there any one out there who thinks AW can win a major trophy for Arsenal, the decade passed is a clear prove and evidence that AW jst dsnt cut it. He has lost the plot and the winning mentality to inspire his players and achieve great things. It is abt time AW and Arsenal as a club part ways for the greater good of the club.

    1. 1 time in 20 years and you cry like a baby. Is there any club who won 2 FA cups recently and probably 3? Wenger is like father to me.

  35. After Man City and Leicester, we were champions again. Now reality bites us in the backside again. Welcome back from lala- land gunners. This is the reality of having Wenger as a manager.

  36. This is the poorest Arsenal side I have ever seen since wenger took over.. The players just seem to not fit into the team. Wenger is past it.. Time for some new manager.

  37. Stop the trolling with Alexis.of course he miss pass lot cos he’s trying to do it on his own but he chases down to revert his mistakes.tell me to who’s gonna pass it and expect ones two’s two’s intricate play? The lamppost? Speedy Gonzales? Give the fella a break. If it wasn’t for his 19 EPL goals we would be below stoke city. Buy quality players and you will get the bwdtbof him not average and dead wood.

  38. Spurs covered 10km more than us. That’s 10,000 meters. That’s the length of 100 football pitches.

Do we need to have a discussion on whether we showed up or not? On whether the team plays for Wenger? On whether we were unlucky?

  39. Just seen the racial abuse of spud fans on Arsenal fans. It’s on camera, so no reason for FA not to act. Fines and points deducted is the only course of action for the FA methinks….

    1. Yes, that’s highly likely to happen. If we can’t beat them on the pitch let’s use their fans against them. Or did the Spurs players also participate? In that case, perhaps we can deduct 18 points that way we would be 1 point ahead of them.

      1. It’s not the 1980’s anymore, and in footballing terms that is a good thing – spud fans have got away with it for far too long. This sort of behaviour is not acceptable anywhere. It isn’t about us being ahead of them, it isn’t even about football – that sort of behaviour is not acceptable in any walk of life, and until it is recognised and punished, it will go on.

        1. Racism is a problem you don’t solve by deducting points from Spurs or fining them. If you want to punish racist fine them or put them in jail if you believe that changes their belief system and the law allows for it. But I have yet to hear racist statements for the organization that is Spurs. Go after the culprits if you don’t like their beliefs. Personally I don’t think punishment helps or changes racists beliefs, education does, it starts with parenting.

          1. It is what they do abroad – they dock points, fine, and play behind closed doors. That is because a lot of these people are so hard core, that the only way to get the message through to them is to hurt their club. If I can hear it and see it, surely the spud hierarchy can as well, in which case, why aren’t they saying that it’s not acceptable? This is only one in a series of offences they have been committing – I’m sure you heard what happened at the Chelsea match. The more successful they are, the worse they seem to get and as it seems directly related to football, it is down to the FA to sanction them and/or the Spurs management to do something. I remember going to football matches when I was a kid, and the racism there was like a bear pit – I stopped going, and only went to the odd international match, yet I can barely recall any racism on the street at that time (not saying there wasn’t, but it wasn’t apparent to me) – so I would say a large part of it is down to football gang mentality – they will listen if the club speaks out against it, or the club is hurt.

          2. Just noticed Robbie of AFTV has posted a video on it. He takes a lot of abuse, but is clearly upset by this. THFC need to show they are doing something about it, it is disgusting.
