Triple blow in Arsenal’s top striker hunt

Arsenal are heavily linked with a number of strikers this summer, as Arsene Wenger seeks some cover for Danny Welbeck, and with a view to strengthening their starting line-up for the new campaign.

The Gunners already appear to have missed out on Leicester’s Jamie Vardy and Real Madrid youth product Alvaro Morata, and could now miss out on some other top strikers.

Arsenal have recently been strongly linked with a move to sign Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon, who has proven to be a consistent goalscorer in Ligue 1, scoring 63 league goals over the past three seasons, and at 25 years-of-age should still have his best years ahead of him.

Recent reports claim that despite Wenger holding talks with the striker’s agent, the French manager is not unwilling to meet his reported asking price.

The Gunners were also favourites to sign Gonzalo Higuain this summer, as they seek a top addition to their strike-force, but Atletico Madrid are now eyeing a move for the Argentine. The Napoli striker will not be sold cheap, and having scored 36 goals in only 35 Serie A outings this term, you can hardly blame them.

Another of our targets, Mauro Icardi, could now be the subject of a bid from rivals Tottenham. Spurs are claimed to have held talks with the Inter hitman’s representatives, and are now considering a big-money offer for his services. Arsenal and Chelsea have both been linked with his signature previously, but have so far failed to tempt their club captain.

We are in the hunt for other options also, with Brazilian Gabriel Barbosa and Japanese Takumo Asano reported to be possible arrivals. The latter could well be sent out on loan in the mean-time however, while the former could prove to be a shrewd buy.

Witch of our targets would have the biggest impact at Arsenal for the coming season?

  1. I would rather have Icardi then Asano lol
Seriously, I’d be happy with ixardi, Lacazette

    O. T
Ibrahimovic broke United power lifting record during medical. Not bad for an old guy

    1. Re Zlatan; All that proves is the rest of the Utd squad are a bunch of shirtlifters, but then, we already knew that!

      1. Why Zlatan when
        they have have Rooney
        Rashford Martial + Depay?
        Surely they should be
        replacing Sweinsteiger Fellani
Mata and the aging Carrick 35.
        Mkhitaryan can’t replace them all.
Utd and Mourinho looks like a
        disaster in the making.

  2. Its even boring talking about Arsenal’s transfers, sometimes I even use to think if wenger really means good for this club as he claimed to be, or may be he is just clueless old man or Why every team BUT 6u8xxg arsenal??
May be we are following wrong club.

  3. Finding a fill in striker
till the 16 mill pound flop
    Wellbeck returns from injury.
Sounds like a mad house 🙂
    Sanogo? Walcott? Arsano?
Yes it is definitely a mad house 🙂
Oh I forgot Bendtner is training at Colney.
Remember Flamini was just ” keeping fit”
    at Colney too.

  4. You just know that its going to be a Triple blow ×10 by the time the transfer window shuts! ??
It’s beyond a joke , yet so predictable.

I’m sure that someone with a crystal ball named the Old Kent Road after Wenger! ?
Some good news, Wenger likes the idea of Managing England, I hope that he isn’t bluffing, just so Arsenal fc offer him a better extension offer? ?
At least Wenger wouldn’t have to worry about the transfer windows if he does take the England job, next season when his contract runs out.

    1. With every day passing without the signing of a real top quality striker my resentment of the way this club is managed without any ambition makes me more and more angry and ashamed.

I know this behavior is consistent with every previous transfer window but after the, sometimes, poisonous atmosphere od last seasons shambolic performance I has a small hope Wenger would go out and finally try to sing a game changing strikerlike we used to have with RVP or Hnery.

Pre-season is starting and we have not addressed our biggest need. Surprised anyone???

(We didn’t even sign any other goal scoring forward)
