Two more trophies and Arsenal are ready for Premier League

Following on from Arsenal becoming the most successful side in the cup´s history by winning a second FA cup final in a row, our excitement has been tempered by having an enforced six weeks of no football. Well, we did have the Copa America with Alexis scoring the winner. We also had the England U21’s failing badly, and an excellent showing by Arsenal Ladies at the FIFA World Cup in Canada. I know it’s football, but the fact is that more women are likely to have been comparing bingo sites on bingobuddha.co.uk all summer rather than watching our Ladies teams.

But I digress, as we all do while here is no football on! But our beloved team has returned to action at last and the Gunners produced a blistering pre-season win over Everton to win the Barclays Asia Trophy on Saturday. And we have a chance to add a couple more trophy wins to our haul before the Premier League kicks off in less than three weeks from now.

I know that the Asia cup, the Emirates cup and even the Community Shield are not very important in the grand scheme of things but I think winning them would be great for Arsenal and would set us up perfectly for a proper tilt at the Premier League title.

Winning is a habit and it seems to be one that Arsene Wenger and the players are developing nicely. You could see clearly how much the lack of success and the ever growing wait for silverware was affecting the players until we beat Hull at Wembley a year ago. In fact our nerves nearly made us blow that final as we had the League cup against Birmingham.

Also, with a shorter summer break and pre-season to prepare, I think Arsenal need to treat all the remaining games with respect and try our best to win them. It will not be a disaster if we do not win the Emirates Cup (again) or even if we lose to Chelsea the following week, but how much better would we all feel if there were two more trophies in the cabinet when West Ham come to the Emirates on August 9th?

Let’s win them both, start the season like a house on fire and not look back. And let’s get behind the team damn it. We have a great group of players and it seems all of them want to stay. This is our most important season yet in the sense that we have been building for this for awhile now, a legit title challenge. Get behind every player, even arsenal fan favorite giroud, since he isn’t as terrible as some make him out to be and the “lamp post” ain’t going anywhere. They call him a donkey on other sites, but he’s our donkey and he’s never bad mouthed arsenal.

Talking of Giroud, i know many top clubs that would wish to have a decent striker like him..

If cech help us lift C.S against chelsh!( Then he has already paid his fee before the season even started. We need no more moral boost than that. #COYG

These Trophies are important especially for the players beliefs. When U are used to winning, psychologically U bcom used to it. That’s what Barcelona enjoys today. Their players believe they can beat any team. I think if Wenger insist we win these matches and make it clear to d players, we can win them.
Having said that, We need a World-class Striker to show our great midfielders that we mean business. Benzema is not the right kind, Ibrahimovic, Cavani is the caliber!!!!!

    Yes completely agree with you,
Winning mentality is important and if we win the upcoming two cups then definitely it will be of huge importance.
If we manage to beat Chelsea at Community shield, our players and fans will start to believe and with believe comes success. This has become very important game as it involved Chelsea who are
our biggest rivals to PL title. It will 100% built massive confidence among the players
    Common gunners let’s win everything

The Emirates Cup tournament is a Champions League rehearsal test for Arsenal and the other 2 Participating teams. The 2 game victory success will equate a 2 legged 1 game first round victory of a Champions league game by own rating. Arsenal are yet to lift the Emirates Cup. And this time around, I am confident Arsenal will brush aside VfL Wolfsburg and Olympique Lyon’ to lift the Cup. And I don’t entertain any fear in my mind whatsoever that Arsenal will not re-lift the Shield. The Boss’ Gunners will resoundingly beat Jose Mourinho’s Blues at Wembley to re-lift the Shield for the 2nd year running. I believe winning 3 trophies within a month will be a moral boosters for the Gunners. It is remarkably important for the Gunners to lift the remaining 2 silverwares that will be soon at stake. And display all 4 trophies they would have won this year at the Emirates Stadium on the 1st day of the season when West Hammers come to receive a bashing from the hands of the Gunners.

    Lyon and Wolfsburg have
    quality squads with
    several players linked to us.
2 games in 2 days is not normal
so its still about fitness, giving
    players game time building combinations
and getting the fans back on board.
    Not getting too fussed about
    the Emirates Cup winner,
    no one remembers these games.
After all who did Chelsea play
    in preseason last summer?

    OT:
Did we really bid 31m for Benzema? When Benteke went for 32m.
Get with it Arsene, bid realistically and get our business done!

Got to wonder who MU are muting to sign up front, Can’t help feeling it’s going to be a huge signing, (Ronaldo, Cavanni, Lewandoski, Suarez etc.).

This will be MU’s window of success not ours 🙁

Winning the community shield is important but it is far more important not to lose. If we lose it will dent our confidence very bad.

    @davidnz.
I remember the game last year. Against Monaco we lost 0-1, falcao scored with a header, we were totally outclassed and Kondogbia ruled the midfield.
I was hoping Wenger had a close eye on Kondogbia but clearly not!

I also remember us losing to an MLS side last year in pre season, so this one has already started better than last year.
