Watford hoping to capitalise on the pressure on the Arsene Wenger

Although Arsenal won in the Europa League on Thursday, they are still on a run of four defeats domestically, which has not happened under Arsene Wenger since 2002 and the Watford defender Daryl Janmaat says his side can take advantage of that pressure and get a positive result against Wenger’s men.

“I think they are not happy at the moment. Arsenal never lose four [domestic games] in a row and that is not usual,” he said.

“I think Wenger is maybe having some trouble and that is not on us. The pressure will be on him and we have to make sure we are concentrating.

“We have to go with the same attitude as the last games and try to get the result.”

“It is important to try and keep them to nil for as long as possible in these type of games.

“We know if they score earlier it is going to be frustrating for them so we need to be ready and know what we have to do.”

Will the Arsenal fans start to turn on Wenger and the players again and create a toxic atmosphere if we don’t get off to a good start tomorrow?

  1. Lets get something out, we all want Arsenal to win, however, the continuous BS that comes out upsets fans. We lose game after game showing no effort to try and win. Wenger blames everyone and everything but himself. We win one game against an average European team and Wenger makes stupid comments
We as a club need to change what’s going on and instead of becoming an average club we need to be competing for the top awards the PL and CL. I cannot see that any time soon. Hence fans harping on bout wenger our, I cannot see us lifting the EL trophy as we are too inconsistent and there are a few decent teams in the competition
Wenger out all day every day

  2. I want as many games to lose as it takes to see Wenger off in the leauge. But also i want to see us at least win the uefea leauge for the future good of our new manager.

      1. In case if that happens, then every sane fan should understand that wenger by then is not just an underperformer but an enemy to this club.

It will show his intention in case he demands to keep on going.

  3. The pressure was on Wenger to perform against AC Milan and look at how he was on the touchline giving instructions while we was 2-0 up.

    More pressure on Wenger!

More the better, maybe he will actually use tactics and get good performances again, AC Milan game was a joy to watch. I want to see more of that Arsenal ^.^

    1. So do I Sue.
I am happy when we perform and get to watch a good match, the AC Milan game was a surprise and it felt good! 🙂

I want another good game to enjoy.

    1. I’m with you Innit. What needs to be done for the Watford game is for Deeny’s comments about the Arsenal players following the last game, to be placed in large type in a prominent position in the Arsenal dressing room. The response from the Arsenal players in Sunday’s game should show something of what they are made of.
