We have many out-going Arsenal transfer rumours – Who should we keep?

A whole host of Arsenal players are being linked with a move away from the club this summer, but which of those do we need to keep?

Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil are of course the most heavily linked with a switch, with the pair entering the final 12 months of their contracts. I’m pretty sure that Ozil will be staying put, and his new contract will hopefully persuade Alexis to extend his stay also.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is also entering the final year of his deal at present, and is supposedly on Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool wishlist. The former Southampton youngster has been thoroughly impressive this season in a whole host of positions, and is definitely one of the players that has to stay into next season in my opinion.

Francis Coquelin is today being linked with a move to Valencia, and he has played a limited role this term. The Frenchman has fallen down the pecking order this term, and I think you will struggle to find and Arsenal fan who would be disappointed with his exit. He can go…

Another Frenchman in Olivier Giroud is claimed to be wanted too, with Marseille claimed to be keen. The striker has enjoyed a very good season, albeit in a limited role, and many of his goals have come at crucial points in matches. I think we should keep him, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want a top striker brought in to first team.

Laurent Koscielny is also linked with a switch to Marseille, but he is an integral part of our defence, and I can’t see how we can progress without him. He has been our stand-in skipper for much of the campaign, and leads by example on the pitch. He is indispensable…

Jack Wilshere is another with his future up in the air, and would most likely have come back to play in the first-team next term had he not fallen foul of injury (again). As much as Jack is very much Arsenal through and through, his constant injury problems are more hassle than they are worth, and I would let him go if he wants to.

Do you agree with my choices? Does Jack want to stay?

  1. Yup, we’re approaching the same old ?? again, Where we get excited & can’t wait for the transfer window to open, which is swiftly followed by ‘begging for it to slam shut’ as our rivals strengthen their squads with quality signings, whilst Wenger brings in more youngsters with future potential. Does that familiar?

  2. As far as I know only Wilshere
Chambers and Sanogo are out of
    contract this summer.
    Sanogo will be released surely.
Wilshere will get a new contract injuries and all.
I think Chambers will get an extension too.
    Campbell Akpom Bielik Asano Zelalem
    will go on loan again.
    Ozil will stay.
Sanchez is too close to call.
Ospina is said to want more game time and might leave.
But the thing is they are all on such fat salaries
with no pressure to win anything.
Why would any of them want to leave?

  3. Arsene Wenger is being linked with a move away from the club. Who cares if he goes after all he has seen his better days? He can go it’s okay ……..

  4. We should keep the Ox and the younglings. Maybe give a one year contract extension to the Wheelchair and that’s it. Sanchez and Ozil are not up to Arsenal, I reckon both will leave, Sanchez 100%, Ozil 70%.

  5. It is sod’s law (but thoroughly understandable) that the players that are linked away are mostly the ones that are worthy of staying and (vice versa) those that have no links away are the ones that we need to ship out.

To aim to keep Sanchez, Ozil, the Ox, as first team players is a no brainer whilst Koscielny, Coquelin definitely deserve squad positions whilst the likes of Walcot, Giroud, Ramsey, Sanogo etc need to be put out to pastures new.

  6. Do absolutely everything we can to retain Alexis. Take an inflated fee for Ozil if it comes in and replace him with Isco. Get rid of Ramsey, Jack, Monreal and Welbz (he’s good but can’t stay fit). Keep Giroud as super-sub although I think he’ll leave and possibly get rid of Coq as he’s regressed massively.
We need world class – Aubamayang, Mbappe, Griezman etc… No more messing around. Hopefully Wenger will walk or be fired after the cup final but I honestly think he’ll extend for a year and we’ll have a summer transfer market as frustrating as all the previous ones.
    Wenger out means out!

  7. Ospina and Perez will definately leave since they can’t get any games. Debuchy, Mertesaker, Gibbs, Wilshere are deadwoods because they are injury prone and not needed and no one will miss them. Theo, Welbeck, Giroud and Ramsey are just average and we need superior players.
Ospina, Perez, Debuchy, Mertesaker, Gibbs, Wilshere and one of Giroud/Theo/Welbeck should leave. Szczesny will replace Ospina, Kolasinac will replace Gibbs. The management of Arsenal is so poor. We keep average players and get rid of top players when needed.
