Wenger – Arsenal have the desire and will fight Tottenham for Top Four Place

Arsenal have finally found their true form since Theo Walcott signed his contract extension last month, and they are now fighting hard for every single point as they attempt to close the gap on their great rivals Tottenham Hotspurs.

Although there is still a four point gap, Wenger will take heart that he has always managed to finish above Spurs since his arrival at Arsenal, and when the Independent asked him straight off if he thought he would leapfrog Spurs once again, he replied: “There are many games to go,”

“We are in the fight and the game on Saturday showed that we are ready for a fight.”

“Our character was questioned many times this season.”

“You saw on Saturday that we have plenty. I liked the last 20 minutes when we were pushed back. We headed every single ball. We tried like mad and that’s fantastic to see.

“Sometimes you have to just dig in and some players played in uncomfortable positions. When we have the desire to win, it helps a lot.”

As Mikel Arteta said yesterday, the North London derby will be massive early next month, but with the FA Cup game against Blackburn and the Champions League match against Bayern Munich to concentrate on first, we mustn’t worry too much about it just yet.

Mind you if Arsenal beat Villa and Spurs lose to Newcastle it could be even more interesting lol……

In the Spuds game I hope our secret agent Adebayor takes a red card for us like last time and may be take down Bale during training.

Ok every1 is happy we are playing well.. but in some games we need to have some strategy to put the opposing team on back feet.. If we r facing and der is Bale who can single handedly take them to victory, we need to come up with a plan to close him down.. Saw Manu-Everton game.. Carrick & Cleverly gave a hell of a time for Fellaini.. we need to come up with something lyk that.. our attack is fabulous, our defence is coming to form, i say assign a man for Bale, its 5pud2.. COYGs:)

I fear the spuds will be powerful in the counter. If our boys put in a shift like they did in the first half against Sunderland, we will play the spuds off the pitch. I think the key is putting a stop to their master of diving, Bale.

It seems the key to this is not allowing him space to run into. I’m not worried about him receiving the ball in traffic; he’s dangerous when he runs at the opposition (this also allows the dives to be more convincing I think).

Seriously though, Bale is a great player and we would love him if he played for us. I’m curious to see how Nacho does against them. Still, if they never see the ball, they can’t get those cheap calls and dives they are certain to play for. It’s a shame Villas Boas is their manager now. Till he got the job with Spuds, I was hoping he’d find success. Maybe once they are relegated, he’ll be forced to find a different side.

Chelski may still have to leave that spot for us if we give our best fight. Sincerely, Spuds are not looking like they want to slip. Let’s wait and see.

The next game is very important as we have seen too many times this season and in the past our own team shown up expecting to win and before we know it we are behind with a fight on our hands. We really cant lose any ground on spu so to keep under pressure which they arent too used to.

just by looking @ the fixtures in the run in,, its very possible that we could finish 3rd or even 2nd!! I hate to say ths but manure & (shit team near arsenal kikikiki)5pur2 are the only settled teams above us. 5pur2 have a nightmare run in. Id be shocked if they beat us to fourth. Chelski & that shit team near manure are topsy turvy & we’r starting to find our feet. I see absolutely no reason why we shudnt finish in the top 4 & push city for 2nd place. That shud be our target!! No complacency!! We can do this. COYG!!!
Ps,, wud love to see one match were we play eisfeld & gnabry

Now that we can’t win th title, here’s my perfect season. We win the FA cup v Man Utd in the Final. We finish 5th and Spurs finish 4th BUT we win the Champions League so they miss out again. Omg that would be the perfect season. FOYS. Cmmmoonn Yooouuu Guunneeerrssss :)

Forget it, Daniel Levy wont accept to get peanuts from Arsenal when he can receive tens of millions from Real for Bale.
    Levy is SHHHHHRRREEWWWED like shit!

@AKB haha it would be soo good but the only downside is that they finish above us which shouldn’t happen and won’t happen for another 50 years (hopefully).

    Why fourth place?
Chelski is only a point ahead of the Spuds!
If we are ambitious, and capable, then aim for 3rd place not fourth!

Hell, the way Man City are playing , I would even go for second! LOL

We have an easier run. The only teams what should give us a hard time are United, Newcastle, Everton, Spurs. The rest we SHOULD beat.

Spurs have us, Chelsea, Liverpool, Everton, City and Stoke.

Beating them on the 3rd is crucial.

No one would thought chelsea would win CL, LIVERPOOL got a bad season last year as one o0f the most prolific English Club. Arsenal should do a little magic with FA Cup…

we should have the desire and will to fight for trophys….4th place aint good enough….this year we failed to beat big teams so beside manure all the other games should be won with ease……

Since when did we sart competing with Spurs? this goes to show the extent the man Wenger has degenerated as a coach. Rather compete with likes of ManU for the premiership he is stupidly busy talking of 4th place with Spurs.

I don’t mean to rain on anyone’s parade but aren’t we jumping the gun? Are you forgetting this is Arsenal? Capable of showing up one day and then sleeping in the next? People please, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Let us take the games one at a time, this is the PL where no team is ever easy to just pushover. There are several teams that could still cause us problems, especially the relegation teams. Let us relax and take it one game at a time. Man City had an off game, we are still quite a few points behind them, let us actually win our games first before we start talking about taking down City and Chelsea.

Another 5-2 so they’ll realize that Leeds supporters’ chants were true and will always be – “You’re just a sh*t team near Arsenal”.
