Wenger – Arsenal must get fast start against West Ham

I know it’s a case of stating-the-bleeding-obvious, but after last season’s terrible start it is imperative that Arsenal continue their winning run now that the Premier League is finally getting up-and-running.

The only worry I can see is that the players may be trying too hard to get a result and start making unforced errors in their rush to score goals. Wenger has done very well to maintain the squads confidence over the summer and hopes that will lessen the pressure, but as he begins his 20th season with Arsenal he still feels the butterflies. “I still feel the same excitement, the same uncertainty, because football is not predictable so you always have the level of excitement and uncertainty,” Le Prof said on Arsenal.com.

“The pressure for me today is even bigger because you know what is expected – the expectation level is very high at Arsenal and you have that weight of wanting to do well and start well. That is why we are all under a huge desire to perform from the start.”

An unbeaten pre-season and three trophies can only have helped the teams confidence, and Wenger is only asking for more of the same from his players. “I couldn’t ask for a better preparation,” he continued.

“Preparation breeds confidence so we can go into the season in a good shape. Now it’s about points, about performance, about efficiency, about togetherness and about heart. We have to earn the right to win the games through effort. Those are the qualities that will be tested now.”

I don’t know about the team but I am already stressed from the waiting for the season to start. I know we are all used to suffering right until the end of games from last season, but wouldn’t it be nice to race into a lead and have a nice calm end of game for a change……

Onwards and Upwards!

    My team tomorrow:
cech- bellerin,kos,chambers,gibbs- santi, coq- ox,ozil,rambo_ wally.

  2. Guys I was wrong about Benzema the artical which said he signed a new contract with real was from last year today’s date so it all on again ?

  3. The Boss & the Gunners MUST be careful of the West Hammers as they come tomorrow with their hammers to do a hammering at the Emirates Stadium. Salven Bilic has already made know his Game App Data Plan of ‘SPRING SURPRISE’ he will employ against the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday early kick-off time game. I think Salven Bilic and his West Hammers side will attempt to do a Aston Villa of 3 seasons back at the Emirates Stadium. Thereby throwing a spanner into the turning wheels of the Gunners engine turbines. A slow start to this season MUST be resisted by the Boss and the Gunners by allmeans. The Boss & his Gunners will undoubtedly defuse Salven Bilic’s Game App Data Plan with his countering Game App Data Plan of: ‘QUALITY & CLASSY GUNNERS GAME DISPLAY’ to overrule Salven Bilic and his Hammers Game App Data Plan of springing a surprise at the Emirates Stadium just because Bilic believes his West Hammers side have the advantage of being better prepared and fitter as they have played many preseason games than the Gunners have played. But the Boss and the Gunners will soon show how wrong Salven Bilic and his West Hammers side were.

  4. we are gonna iron out the irons.

Benzema will go to the game by bus. He is to eat jellied eels with Chas and Dave and is then meeting the pearly king & queen before being presented to the Emirates criwd.

  5. We need to dominate home games this season. Last season we lost/drew too many.

Spuds own goal. Damn. Funny and annoying at the same time because they are playing Manure

  6. I wish Schneiderlin was playing for us, or Kondogbia or Schweinseiger or Busquets or Carvalho or Krychowiak lol

Lets hope Coquelin is injury free whole season

    1. Nothing to fear Fred, Crunch and Hairteta will hold down the fort when Le Coq inevitably goes down or gets suspended. Lol

Spending tens of millions of pounds every transfer window is not necessarily a fool proof blueprint to attain silverware BUT when the entire football world has reached the consensus that Arsenal are two players from being a potential world football superpower why wouldnt Wenger open the checkbook?

Maybe Le Prof is a little deluded about the realistic heights of the current squad.

      Imagine:

      Benz
      Sanchez…..Ozil…..Theo
      Le Coq(Krychowiak)…Santi
      Nacho….Boss….Gab…..Hector
      Cech

  7. Not overly mpressed with Manure in the 1st half, and if Pochietino insists on playing Dyer and Bentelab together Spuds may be in a relegation battle come May. Lol

    1. Wasn’t impressed either but then again it’s their first game with a different lineup. Time will tell.

  8. United are buying quite a few players this season so it will take a while for them to gel.

    1. If they don’t loose playing average (like last year) and develop into a dangerous force then there could be trouble…
