Wenger finally admits Europa League is Arsenal’s main target

Ever since the season began Arsene Wenger has insisted that the Europa League is not one of Arsenal’s main targets and the primary aim is for the Gunners to qualify for the Champions League through our position in the Premier League table. But now, with just six League games to go, he has finally admitted that we are unlikely to make up the 13 point gap to fourth place and he will now go all out to win the minor European trophy as our only hope of getting back into the UCL next season.

We take a 4-1 lead over to Russia this evening and Wenger is taking his very best starting XI to try and ensure we reach the semi-finals. The Boss said: “We have an advantage, the best way to build on the advantage is to try to win the game, we play with our best possible team, have a positive attitude and try and win the game,”

“We are in a position where I don’t think we are under threat of complacency, it is an important target for us to go as far as possible.

“Last night may be a warning for us but let us not go overboard as well, yes we have a big job to do but we are in a strong position and it is how we approach the game that will be vital tomorrow.

“The Europa League is important for us, everyone knows that. We are at a stage where we focus on it because in the Premier League we have a very, very, very slim chance to move further up so the Europa League is one of the big targets now.”

Of course Arsenal fans have been saying that we should aim to win the Europa League since the beginning of the season, and Wenger has finally seen the light. Now that we have hit form with six straight wins in a row, there is no reason why we can’t carry on and finally win a European trophy with Wenger, and get our wildcard ticket for next year’s Champions League….

Im glad we have more than one
    Does he mean 5th place?

  2. I have the same post as on the previous hread. Wengers s and thre clubs lack of ambition is notorious. He has just ONE target; to keep his job and his grotesquely obscene salary. But time runs out for this joke manager. NEXT MONTH! HURRAY AND THEN IT ‘S CHAMPAGNE TIME!!!!

    1. You are a nuisance. Do you have a job beside ranting from thread to thread about a man beyond your pay grade and who does give a fu**k about your experience?

This site is not about ranting every minute about Wenger. If I were the administrator I wouldn’t let you destroy this brilliant site.
