Arsene Wenger has been speaking about the Everton player, Marouane Fellaini, ahead of Arsenal’s trip north to play David Moyes’ team tonight. Le Prof expressed his admiration for the Belgian international who might prove to be a thorn in the side as he returns from suspension to face the Gunners at Goodison Park.
“I just think he is a good player. Everton’s offensive game turns around him. He is the target man they look for, and in recent years he is moving further forward.
“When he arrived at Everton he was more defensive. Now he is more forward, and it looks like he will finish centre forward. He uses his body well, but he is not a dirty player, he is an intelligent player.”
Basically, he is the sort of player that Wenger likes, especially the fact that he can play in a number of positions and can adapt his game. Wenger has been asked alot about transfers after the news of the new sponsorship deal and Gazidis’ statement that there is money available in January. Wenger has said that he would only buy certain type of players, so when asked specifically whether he thought that Fellaini could do a job at Arsenal and he replied with a simple “Yes,” was Wenger suggesting that an offer might be on the cards in January?
Fellaini would certainly add quality and strength to our midfield, which we have been lacking since Diaby’s injury troubles resurfaced.
