Here is another AudioPost from Arsene Wenger’s interview by SkySports after Arsenal struggled to take the points of Newcastle yesterday. He admitted that the Magpies made it hard for a ‘tired’ Arsenal side but he was pleased with our mental qualities.

Petr Cech also got a special mention for keeping us in the game – and he reckons that he will be buying ‘at least’ one player his transfer window as the Gunners midfield is looking ‘a little short’…

  1. Cech was good i agree but to be fair the Necastle players couldn’t hit a barn door at the moment. We were let off so many times its untrue.
And I hardly knew Walcott and Mertesacker were on the pitch. How many times did they touch the ball?
I certainly knew the ox was playing coz he was rubbish!

  2. Our assist king mesut ozil should be rested next week for the sunderland FA cup clash, so he would be fresh and ready for the trip to anfield where we face liverpool!

  3. next:
gabriel to come in for mert,
    campbell for ox.
but we ceded the defensive midfield area too easily: there was no plug-stopper (coq) there.
we were tired but i think we still havent figured out how to be effective when teams park the bus against us: newcastle packed the 18yd box and we dont know how to coax them out of it.

    1. Don’t think the problem was Newcastle’s amazing defensive qualities I just think we were tired and it showed. But I agree we were bullied in midfield
