Tony Adams’ comments and the Ramsey debate by NS
Wenger said before yesterdays game
“We don’t plan for anybody. It is always the same – focus on our strengths and forget about your opponent.”
“There is nobody special that you least like to face,” he added.
“All players have different qualities.”
Tony Adams also said before the game on TV last night on Truesports (Asia) that Wenger makes no special arrangements for opposition tactics or how to deal with certain players.
Seeing as he played under Wenger for years, he should know.
At one time, United and Arsenal had the pick of players. Now, those days are long gone.
For Wenger to have no plan for Bale, Messi or a team’s set up is suicidal in my opinion.
AVB was constantly giving his team instructions and looking at their goals, was well aware of Mertersacker stepping out. To be fair, I think Merty only does this as we have no defensive midfield player. Another joke.
Ramsey gets a lot of stick. Some fans don’t like it. However, many of those are not shy in slating Santos or Gervinho.
Here is the news. Gervinho is no Messi, but I would take him over Ramsey any day of the week.
So, how can Wenger leave Podolski on the bench. The man has more assists than any other player in the Premier League this season. He’s also scored a few. Rosciky is the other obvious choice.
What world is Wenger living in if he feels Ramsey is better than Podolski or Rosicky?
He’s been played in the big games. Look at the outcome of those games.
Whilst it is unfair to single him out (Vermaelen was even worse), I’ve yet to see him have a great game. Even TV does have the odd stormer. Arteta has saved us a few times this season. The Ox has looked very good (and bad) at times. Even Gervinho banged a few in early on in the season.
What has Ramsey done for us?
And what is he?
A DM? No. Can’t tackle and not defensive minded.
A box to box player? Don’t make me laugh. He’s far too slow and lacks power.
A creative player? Some say he is. Please tell me how many goals he’s scored and how many assists he has?
A utility player? Possibly. So what the hell is he doing starting the big games?
It’s not his fault.
It’s Wenger’s fault. He’s clearly not good enough and keeps getting thrown in against teams like Bayern.
I’m trying not to scapegoat him as others had poor games, but he’s done nothing for the team when you look at it.
It’s annoying when fellow gooners say ‘he did ok today?’ Like it’s a good thing that he wasn’t terrible.
We don’t need ‘ok’ on the odd day and ‘useless’ the rest of the time. That is just not good enough for this club.
Wenger needs to stop this stupid fetish of his and start looking at the teams we are playing a little more.
Sad thing is, he won’t change.
Sadly, due to this fact, I believe we need a change of manager.
