The king is dead. Long live the king!!

    1. Please don’t hire Brendon Rogers as Wenger’s replacement. He his not a better manager!! Scottish League is not a measurement of premier league

        1. Yes, the media has started will there experiments. The amount of goals his team conceded in Europe is shameful. We don’t want try and error. We have suffered enough heart aches seeing our club perform badly

          1. they always push for the british manager. They don’t know anything ever. Nobody knew this announcement was coming either because Arsenal operate behind closed doors and never leak a lot of info.

        1. But am not ready to wait on a manger to build himself at the expense of my emotions. There are many young readymade mangers. Atletico manger is one of them.

          1. Sorry Anko but managing in Spain doesn’t mean they will do well in the UK.
Simone and Arsenal play different brands of football, do you not watch Arsenal or AM?

I do not care so much about the name over what the manager can do, I do not care if he managed lizard people in a hollow world… As long as that individual can come in and do the right job for Arsenal.

ANY manager will come with risk.
            That is the simple truth.
We can reduce that by doing the research and I hope AFC do their research.

            1. I understand, there are people you know will come in a do a very good job. Pep didn’t come with risk, he came and he proved himself. We can reduce the try and error by not appointing Brendon Rogers. That is all am saying. We can not start with anxiety. Atlético’s manger made them better that is all that counts. Everyone that has gone to Celtic has done well since rangers were not completing. When it comes to proper competition Europe especially Celtic has been woeful. And our aim is to be better than Celtic

  1. What a way to start the weekend!!! I now strangely believe that we will go on an unbeatable run till the end of season. Europa is ours as well, mark my words. Everyone is now pulling in the same direction!!

  2. He will leave, so this season is the best season, after a decade of Wenger bashings!

Now I hope all players would do their best to get the EL trophy and I wish all fans would support Wenger 100%. To honour the greatest Arsenal manager ever!

    Next Arsenal manager: Thomas Tuchel

    1. Actually I apologise as that was disrespectful.

I’m not happy that he is leaving. I’m sad that he never recovered from the move to the Emirates and went into a downward spiral.

I am now more optimistic about the future and wish Wenger all the best and hope he finds a big club and redeems himself before retiring as he deserves at least that much.

  3. I agree ,I’ve wanted him to leave since 2012 and been one of the ones on here vocal about his departure. But now it’s confirmed it would be nice just to let him leave in peace and get behind the team till season ends
Long overdue but thanks for some of the best football Thisbe league as ever seen

  4. Wow it is really happening this season. What happened to his honouring his contract.
Oh I just hope he close his doors with arsenal with European Trophy even tho it’l is no champion league.
I wonder he said he will not retire so maybe psg. I just hope it is not PL team that would be very bitter.

  5. All the fans can finally unite to support the club, honour wenger and look to the future. Its now important the players win the europa league to give him a good sendoff and get us back into the champions league.

    1. Lupe, I concur. Arsene, thanks for the memories, hopefully go out with a win in the Europa League and goodbye.

  6. I remember that many of us who started calling for Wenger to resign realized this more then ten years ago. How much more time does he need. He has regressed since. The game has changed and Wenger has failed to adapt. In case you AKB’s haven’t realised, we are now 6th place and 35 points behind the leaders, and it will get worse. No UEFA qualification might just be a blessing in disguise. So am I hoping we get thrashed again? Absolutely !! The sooner it happens the sooner Wenger can leave. Let’s look at rebuilding without Wenger.

    1. Are u dumb lol he already said he is leaving at the end of this season so hoping we get thrashed and get no champions league next season is just stupid as it will make the job of the next manager much more difficult.
Go support oil-rich man city or psg stupid plastic bandwagon fan

    2. Please go support another club. He is already leaving and you hope we get trashed. I just do not get fans like this. Even if you hate him.

  7. Farewell Arsene, Loyal and humble servant of the club.

He might have his own flaws like everyone else but please guys lets give this legend a proper send off now that he has finally done what most of us wanted from him.

    Time for ARSENAL TO UNIT

      1. Come on John, time to put our differences aside! Our future is looking bright now let as start by winning Europa then the Super Cup then go for the league next season maybe even the champions league!!!! Man it feels great to be able to dream again!

  8. Finally! now that he is leaving he deserves the respect that he is due.

    Merci beaucoup monsieur Wenger!!!

  9. I have been one of biggest fans of wenger and later one of his biggest critics. It makes me sad that he should have been sent away like a legend/god will leave the club with mixed reactions just because he simply couldn’t leave arsenal like us fans cannot stop supporting arsenal despite all the pain, anger and sadness arsenal brings.
At least by announcing his departure early all the fans will rally behind him and the team and hopefully we give him the europa league to close his career at a high instead of a whim. I have no doubt the fans will honour him in our few remaining matches like he should be.
    Merci Arsene

  10. I can’t believe this is really happening. Thanks for the great memories Arsene. I may have moaned & wanted you gone asap, but I still appreciate what you’ve done for the club. Now let us round up our support for the lads till the end of the season. All the best on your next chapter in life Arsene.

  11. After destroying the beloved club let him GO. Even the Tots are building a new Stadium and aren’t selling their best players Nor are their books bad. On the flip side they are actually coming out stronger than ever. Seem this old fellow was interested to Build the emirates so as to win the Emirates cup every year.

  12. Now everyone get behind the damn club again and stop all this pathetic infighting.

He is leaving, that’s it – time to become a truly united fan base again.

  13. I expect the board to have already secured a replacement before announcing this so who will it be ? most likely its tuchel- free, like attacking football and auba & mkhi transfer.
wouldnt mind a tactical coach like allegri to enable potential great defenders like mustafi, chambers or holding to improve. Remember they were playing well at the start of their arsenal career before it all went bad.

  14. I wanted him gone but I’m also sad we will never replace what he did , let’s give him a good send off and win the EL

    1. Yes. Same here, he is the most successful manager in my era, 60+ years (yes Herbert Chapman won three championships on the bounce but before my time) and deserves now to stop being vilified and have a good send off. The king is dead, long live the king, whoever he may be. Could be a queen but hey we will see eh!

  15. Firstly, I am NOT going to gloat and say I told you so. I ALWAYS look forward and two things only matter now. Most important is WHO and HOW SOON will the new man be installed. Secondly, we must and all will get totally behind our newly cleansed club and give them every support in our challenge for Europa. The ground will now be once again full at every remaining match and WENGER WILL GET AN ENORMOUS SEND OFF AND TRIBUTE AT OUR FINAL GAME. Fellow Gooners , in life, wise people always look forward and ONLY look back in order to learn from previous mistakes. We must now all do this and let all the Wenger hatred and resentment now leave our hearts, and minds for ever. The club had a great manager who, however, went on a decade too long and they were wantonly slow in recognising that huge mistake, despite all OUR fan outrage and it was the empty seats and obvious damage to the clubs financial worth that finally did for him. Moving on then, the guessing game as to who is his successor begins in earnest. I would like Allegri and after him Ancellotti but have NO IDEA of who it WILL be. But please , NOT Viera nor Henry, even though I am sure we all love them dearly.

    1. Good to hear from fans who where against Wenger finally to unite and we can see some rotten apples in our ranks.

      1. Great assessment jon. Now to reapply with all our hearts and minds “victoria concordia crescit”.

    2. enough is enough foxy…

time for you to step down and go….

      time for a change…

      no more negativity

      1. How the hell can anyone construe my post as “negative”! It was relentlessly POSITIVE. Do you actually speak and understand English fluently or not? Serious question!

    3. “Let the hatred go” Wise words Jon Fox. Perhaps you could start by letting go of your Walcott obsession .☺. He left three months ago.

Hopefully Wenger gets a great send off and forums like this one can talk more Arsenal instead of Arsene.

    4. Dear Jon
      prediction has come through…well done!
unlike many other fans who wanted him out a decade or so ago, I came to realize at beginning of last season that nothing will change and the time had come for a big change.
a Tad sorrow he has stepped down but that is for he had achieved for us and not what he has being doing for us for the past 5 or so seasons.
who ever comes in and I agree with you ( Allegri my choice or Ancellotti with a veria or co beside him) would be good for me… but the grass is greener on the other side, we just need be patient and give it time to grow…..
as someone said before… the king is dead, long live the king
now the chants of “we wont you to stay from the opposing fan will stop and we are coming to claim out rightful top spot again…. beware the spuds we’re coming for you … bask in you bit of glory this season but its back to normal next!

    1. We might need Jon if the next manager doesn’t work out…..

    2. It’s not negativity,it’s wanting what’s best the club ,you need to move on mate ,80%of the fan base alreDy have

    3. John ibrahim, i think its you that needs to go. Now wenger is gone, there is nothing for you in arsenal.

    4. John, time for Jon Fox and Konstantin to go where? It’s time for you to let go. After WW2, the Allied nations moved to rebuild Europe, including Germany. This is what this time calls for. Time for pro and Wenger fans to unite for the sake of Arsenal. No victor, No vanquished.

    1. I would be amazed if there are ANY empty seats at all! Arsene Wenger will get his rightful tribute for all he did for our world standing in the football world. Not being a bitter and twisted person, I will have no intentuion to blame him any more, now that our fans objective has been achieved. I wil, soon be offering an article to the ADMIN about fans and clubs perspective which will be wide ranging about both pros and cons of his reign. HOWEVER, what is far more impoortant is the future. The past has it’s place in teaching us how not to keep repeating old mistakes and only that. Bitterness, WITHOUT DUE REASON, is negative, self harming and foolish. I hope and believe most fans will now be positive about both the past and also our exciting future.

  16. So now we can look up for the future and for the first time dare to hope for change and progres. As for wenger like the one true king once said. A good deed doesn not wash out a bad, neither a bad a good one. So thx and goodbye. Tuchel or Allegri it must be. And that with one of our our former legends as assitance manager. So i am hopefeull.
    Yipeeeeee

    1. OMG. If it’s going to be Rogers than I’d actually prefer to have Wenger back. C’mmon Arsenal management, we can surely find much better than rogers.

  17. Congratulations Jon Fox and Phil….you were right.I will be there to support ARSENAL….it’s Wenger who attracted me to support your club but now i am giong nowhere!!!!

    1. Well said my fellow Gooner. All past disputes between you and I now have no place or reason to stay. I offer you my hand in friendship as a classy and dedicated Gooner! You have wisely embraced positivity and I salute you and join you in that.

  18. Typical Wenger.
“I’ve NEVER BROKEN A CONTRACT IN MY LIFE”
    Ha Ha
Whatever spin he puts on it he JUMPED before he was PUSHED.
As for the infighting I’m sure it will continue. All Wenger lovers will pounce on the first bad result. Most will hopefully leave with him.I will NEVER applaud or recognise what he did for this Club other than make HIMSELF and US a laughing stock.

    1. Phil, Surely we who wanted him gone should and must now mend fences with those who thought otherwise. There is now no reason , other than childish point scoring (as politicians constantly do ) to fight fellow Gooners.

      1. Sorry JF-I wanted him out.I celebrate he has gone. But I will only recognise the damage he has done to our Club these last 7-8 years.I have no emotions for the man I have come to despise. Those who wish to honour him for past achievements will obviously do so.I choose not to.

        1. Agree with you Phil. He is leaving the club weaker then he found it. He inherited the best defense in the league, he is leaving us with one of the worst.
Nevertheless i am extremely happy that this was announced now so that I can properly support the team in the European Cup.

          1. Phil, I for one honestly don’t know what the conditions in Arsene Wenger’s recently renewed contract are. If someone does I’d like to be informed. There may have been clauses requiring specific performance goals be met, or an owner/CEO option to trigger the contract entering the second year.
            “victoria concordia crescit”.

  19. Will have to be at last home game .
Was at highbury to welcome him to arsenal against Blackburn with my dad .we won wrighty scored .
I had curtain hair , some astro turf trainers . And some dodgy smash hits poll winners party jacket
A young kid mesmerized by this new manager and his style of play

Need to say goodbye with my dad .
    Its only right .

    Thank you arsene.

  20. All the wengerits are now faced with a bitter reality. Its only now that they can start and actually support the club or leave this place together with wenger. Your true colors come out to shine only now. In the end the fan base can be one again and whatever happens we will unite and worke always as one. ????

  21. For arsenal to announce it like that i think they already have a replacement.

THOMAS TUCHEL favourite according to bookmarkers.

someone said aubameyang knew something when he joined.might be tuchel is next arsenal coach.

  22. Wow!
Best football news of d year. This is a good decision from Wenger. Now wat next, who is our next manager, pls board choose wisely

  23. I do appreciate him and the players owe him something.

Hope they get him a trophy as a final gift to him.

  24. i ll never visit again this web site with ridiculous fans. Ok, he should go, but is unreal to celebrate his departure. I will understand in few years. Thank you Arsen, the best Arsenal manager ever

  25. You will forever be remembered. A vibrant, stubborn and experience gentleman of your own time. Thanks for your good & marvelous works, commitment & achievements especially the great 2002-2003 INVINCIBLE . ARSEN THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES. ???????????

  26. Pulling together is the perfect phrase. AKB’s have been telling us to have patience and support the team for the past 12 years so hopefully they will give the same patience to whoever comes in.

    1. I find the AOB Vs AKB the most irritating thing while being a supporter of Arsenal, I have not heard people call themselves with pride a AKB.
They call themselves Arsenal fans and the people who want Wenger out, who happily call themselves AOB, they belittle the opposition by calling it an insulting name, to insinuate that if someone backs Wenger then they do not think for themselves and Wenger is always right.

I do not want the next manager to get the same patience, Wenger didn’t walk in and get given a decade to fail because… why not?
He was given that due to the rep he built.

You hope the new manager doesn’t have to win to get that kinda rep?? You hope that fans will back a manager for failing right from the start for YEARS????

      Awch.

  27. Before I celebrate I want to see who AFC will get, if we got for Arteta then we may as well kept Wenger and this could end up being a sad day.
If we end up with our own Moyes then we could really be looking at bottom half of the table.

Now that Wenger has announced he will be leaving, the board can be more open about next manager and I hope that it works out well, I don’t want to go from bad to worse.

  28. Although change was required, I always respected and loved you as a human being and as a legendary manager who changed the premier league. Its a sad day for football as the last loyal manager leaves his club, there will probably never againg be a manager who stays at one club over 10 years.. an ERA ends now as after fergie wenger also stops, you had limitations but you had many strenghts which are unparalleled.. I hope you dont retire and hire at another big club again, to show that you still got it.
All the best for Arsenal & Arsène

You could’ve left when RM and PSG came for you. You could’ve left when we had the likes of djorou and chamakh and couldn’t compete financially with anyone, but you stayed. You built the club, stayed loyal and gave us 100%. Now you leave us with aubamayang, mhki, ozil and lacca, likes of ramsey. A good financial standing and a beautiful new stadium. That was all done by you. One Arsene Wenger. End of an era, merci Arsene!

    Arsène “Le Prof” knows best

    1. Let’s not push it too much eh?!

Arsene Knew best a while ago and he realised modern football had caught up with him. Another season would have been disastrous!

Saying that, I am sad because he did so much for us as a club and a league. He was 1000% committed. But, it was time (3 years ago actually) for him to step down.

The players have let the club down though. It’s that simple. They took advantage of a guaranteed place in squad. Even tough they let him down, he had faith in them! I’m not going to mention names, we all know who they are and they should be following Arsene very quickly down to the Exit door as far as I am concerned!

Hopefully, the next manager will get the best out of those who remain and those who come in!?

      COYG!!

  29. I hope you chose the right manager or Arsenal will be in the championship next season. Remember Nottingham forest, Leeds, Aston Villa etc. Arsenal is not too big for the drop.

  30. He was a great Manager who lost his way.He never understood that Arsenal Football Club is more important to fans than any Manager ,nevertheless I wish him well for the future. As to our new Manager, I am not a betting man but the various appointments made by the Board during the past year suggests the new man will be German.

  31. We need to look at the situation as a “Whole new adventure” for the club and fans. It’s going to be bumpy and i’m sure there will be allot of ups and downs to come. But, all great clubs bounce back with new ideas and invention! Arsenal will be Champions again soon. Of that i’m sure!

Good luck Arsene and thanks for your service!!

    COYG

  32. Seems like a party going on over here…..I wonder do these guys even support arsenal ? so much negativity

  33. At last! I cried yesterday mixed tears of joy n sadness. Your legacy will last forever op ud done that sooner onwords and upwords gooners ..
