Wenger – Wigan are good but Arsenal must just maintain concentration

Arsene Wenger is in the unusual position of going for three wins in a row this afternoon (in the League anyway), but after last weks emphatic win over Reading the Frenchman is feeling confident that Arsenal can maintain their good form if they maintain their concentration.

Wenger is hoping that the Reading game could be a turning point in Arsenal’s season: “The positive for me was that we played the football we want to play – based on movement and technical quality,” he said. “It’s a good basis to go on from there and show the same qualities again at Wigan.

“The only negative is we conceded two goals. It was at a time where we thought maybe the game was over but that’s what we have to learn – to keep our focus for 90 minutes.”

“Wigan are a team who always have good technical quality, play good football, try to put you under pressure with the quality of their game and have a history of always creating good results against good teams,”

“That means our concentration will be very important. I believe the two teams will play football, so it’s important that we focus and concentrate on the quality of the game we played on Monday night at Reading and try to repeat that.

“If you look at the Wigan names – Di Santo, Kone, Figueroa, McCarthy, McArthur – they have quality players. We remember last year, they had players like Rodallega and Moses. So they always have good players and, as I said, technically they are a good side.”

Wenger has practically the whole Arsenal squad available so there is no excuses for not having our best team out there today. Surely it must be another three points for the Gunners?

Both can stretch opposition defence, Theo in middle wid pace, 2 CBs will be in tension cox Theo is fast :P Gioud presence in box will create tension for Opposition full backs cox thy have to stop supplies in Box cox thy cant Jump higher than Giroud:P
conclusion: Wigan defense vl b vunerable :D

BANNERS BRING US USMANOV!!! I want to clear up something for some guys here. We will never become like city and chelsea for one simple reason, they are teams without history, teams that became good out of no where! WE ARE ARSENAL, we always were at the top! WE NEVER EVER RELEGATED IN OUR HISTORY! A financial boost means nothing more than help, salvation and payback for the pain we feel feeding the top teams right now, for the pain paying the most expensive tickets, for them (Stan) making money out of us! BRING US USMANOV!

@artillery1 The formation you have suggested needs a strong non nonsense hard tackling DMF and sadly Arteta is not one.

I agree with your sentiments about Chelsea and City, but Arsenal have been relegated before. 1912-13, our subsequent promotion is the root of our rivalry with Spurs. Learn our history before you shout about it lad.

Stick with the same team from Monday and then I can see nothing more than three points.

Hopefully our blip is over and we can push for a strong finale with the additional 15 players we have been linked to.

    Come on you Fecking GUNNERS!

Yeah we can but the 1st rule is that “don’t change the winning team” so please take care of that arsene

But liverpool have history don’t they? but they sold their team and now are suffering for it. before he sale they reached champions league finals twice in 3 years and finished in the top 4 usually above arsenal. then they got money and started signing players like robbie Keane and started losing quality. Then benitez lost control of his team and was sacked. then Hodgson and then Dalglish and now Rodgers. Liverpool used to be the best club in europe.

Seriously Arsenal need to fix up. Wigan are no pushovers like reading. Credit to Wigan tho playing nice footy and they are fighting. It’s like Arsenal are not up for a fight except for Wilshere. We need a powerful DM. We are lightweight
