Wenger will allow Walcott to leave for his World Cup dream

So it looks like yet another Arsenal player is set to leave the Emirates this January as the new Everton boss Sam Allardyce has confirmed that he is in talks with the Gunners to try and secure a permanent transfer of Theo Walcott and he sounds extremely keen on the idea. “I think you are all aware of our interest in Theo,” said Allardyce. “If that is possible to get over the line I’d be delighted.

“Obviously there are negotiations that are happening at the moment and if that can all be sorted out – one of the most difficult things to do today – then that would be a great addition in my opinion to come and join us from an attacking point of view.”

“Two or three reasons really: goalscoring threat, pace, experience and he’s good on assists from wide areas in terms of his crossing ability,”

“If that is at all possible it would be very nice. It is not imminent at the moment but some negotiations are going on.

“I don’t think there’s any chance of a loan so I think it is a permanent deal we’re hoping to negotiate.

  1. I know Theo is not much liked by Arsenal fans. Personally, I have to say I think he was miss used. He made many great assists when he played with RVP and is a good finisher as well. He is player who needs a run of games and for some reason, Wenger would play him for a few games and then bench him. I don’t think his numbers are too bad and I think playing in front of inexperienced full backs didn’t help him either.

I would not be surprised if he does well wherever he goes. 18 million for Theo and 12 million for Coq in this marked seems poor transfer business to me.

    1. We Arsenal fans doesn’t really like Theo Walcott but truly he has not done bad playing as a right winger.
He scored against big teams than any of our attackers that has played for us recently apart from RVP.
This is the question i do ask myself (how many players that plays from that same wing has scored 19 goals a season or 100 plus goals all through?)
Seriously they are not many but the problem started with his since the time he demanded to play as a no. 9.

If he goes, i wish him well, i give him my blessing because he has done well for the club i love.

    2. I agree, but lots of fans who doesnt like him hardly remember those times cos they were to young.
I think Wenger is specialist in killing players desire for many resons. Sometimes he would kill them by playing them in wrong positions, sometimes leaving them on the bench cos he has somebody more important to be in 1st 11, sometimes beening to friendly with players… etc. Walcott is one of the longest serving players at Arsenal so he sufferd the most.
But not reaching his potential is still on him.

    3. With all respect Sir, Theo Walcott despite a long serving player is not Asenal material
he doesnt even know how to play simple one two he always tried to force his way past opponent
and being one of the highest player in arsenal payroll – if the main reason for him being around for over 10 years because some regulation mandate then yes – i mean home grown and all those quota things.

    4. I have very mixed feelings toward Theo. Initially he was a very good player but I feel that the fact that he has been substituted, I think, well over 100 times can not have helped his development or confidence. (Lacazette now appears to be having the same treatment). On the other hand one would have liked to have seen Theo putting in more of a shift when he did play. Ultimately, in so many ways, he epitomises the sad state of affairs at our club. Whatever, good luck Theo.

  2. Only Wenger thinking has kept Walcott at our club for long! Wenger muddled thought having half of the England team of Arsenal players rather than focus on winning games…

Now time to move on for both parties but wish Walcott all the best!

  3. Things are looking worse for Arsenal each day.
You would hope this is sealing Wenger’s fate and will ultimately lead to him leaving.
    But I doubt it.
Arsenal will be run into the ground, all of their assets sold and the club thrown into mediocrity before they kick him out.
Perhaps he might get a bonus for making Kroenke even richer…

  4. What has happened to Lacazette ?
Everybody is only blaming Moratta & Lukaku
But it is Laca who has scored the least amongst the 3
Arsenal fans- “He doesn’t get enough service” So??!
Even Giroud didn’t get any service either but people keep blaming him
Only positive is that this is only his 1st season..

    1. We need a pacey striker to replace slow giroud, then we have laca.
But the formation force laca to play like giroud style, a target man.
      Weird….

      1. we need diamond strike force like Barcelona : Mess, Searez, and Coutinho
Liverpool is the closest thing to that: Salah, firmino, Mane
intelligents players and take out theo Walcott on that equation

if Arsena we build ours Malcom, Guedes, leon Bailey, Mahrez, Ozil if he stays

    1. In technical term we call “balance” and wenger never get that right, you dont fix problems every season for just bringing in one player

  5. Where y find another winger who score 100+ goal
Walcott is another victim from wenger change formation.
He dont use dm and pacey winger again, dont y see the pattern, we dont have dm at all, and only have sanchez and walcott as winger.
Wenger will only buy players who have the ultimate skill of all, that is backpass and sidepass to team mate to create the highess ball possession in single match.

  6. *Off topic*
There are rumours circulating around claiming that Arsenal have agreed terms with Carlo Ancelloti to replace Arsene Wenger soon. It’s a 5 year contract apparently, I seriously hope it’s true

    1. I heard it was four years! But what is a mere year between us who long for Wengers removal. Even if it were my Aunt Gladys as replacement.

  7. Walcott? WEED WALCOTT HIMSELF? For England? Who the hell does this shocking excuse for a professional footballer, timid, weak, frightened, bone idle and mercifully about to be sold, ever imagine he could replace in Englands squad. They are MEN remember, Theo. Being one yourself, which you are NOT(little boy yes, man never!) is a requisite. Delusions of grandeur? HE SHOULD NOT EVEN HAVE DELUSIONS OF ADEQUACY! Hilarious!

  8. He has had plenty of chances lately…. but hasn’t taken them! I used to like Theo, he was good….but he’s not the player he once was. So good luck at Everton

    1. We are mugging Everton and big Sam.
“Theo Walcott provoding crosses from wide” I wish.
Allardyce will get the shock of his life after signing Theo.

  9. dream on mr whippet … departure is 6 years too late but if we can get 20m for him then that is excellent business … a french attack looks good on paper lamar lacazette and malcolm (at bordeaux) but we should know that most of our french attacking imports have not worked out (and henry came from the italian league)

      1. hmmm … massive underperformer in my books but was only a teenager with us so not clear what might have happened if real hadnt turned his head

    1. Malcom has only been in Europe since 2016, so wouldn’t really put him in the same category as Lacazette and lemar. He’s definitely a Brazilian type of footballer.

      1. Hope rumors are true, if we let it sleep and say he goes to Liverpool you will have Barcelona/Madrid coming knocking on door and he will go for over 100mln – also dont understand when wenger took a swipe to Sven few days ago – said they knew every good player in Europe and thats being the case, why he has problems to recruit them?
until they go somewhere and shine then he will come out and say “we almost sign him”

  10. AW hat treated that kid so bad it’s unreal. I hope he goes and plays at the top of his game. AW to piss off away from London asap. Think you will find when AS has been sold the arsenal team will start playing well and be happy in the dressing room

  11. Arsenal is an inconsistent team on the field. However certain factors remain consistent that is Arsene Wenger keeps letting us down, players come here with great records from other clubs and we have high expectations, but ultimately become crap under this manager. Every transfer window is a disappointment. ……. the list goes on. Don’t blame the players their development has been stifled. Arsenal once produced great talents and made good players even greater. Gone are those days!!

Until Arsene leaves nothing will change !!

  12. he has a great goal scoring record. Most were not in important moments but some were. Overall just not good enough for Arsenal though, especially last several seasons. Another who never lived up to his potential and overstayed his welcome b/c Wenger likes him.
