West Ham v Arsenal Preview, line-up and score prediction

Everyone keeps going on about West Ham beating Chelsea at the weekend and saying that they can obviously beat Arsenal as well, but the fact is that this was just a blip from both sides. Chelsea reverted to type last night and easily disposed of Huddersfield and I am sure that West Ham will go back to losing ways just as quickly. Let us look at the recent form of West Ham…

I think that looking at those results we can safely assume that the Hammers are not very good at all, no matter how much the wind, snow and fixture congestion conspired to give them a result against the Champions last week. West Ham are still in the relegation zone and Arsenal are still fighting for the Top Four. We can assume that overall the Gunners are far superior to David Moyes’ team.

Okay so for some perspective, let us look at the head to head record…..

I’m only showing the last five but they haven’t beaten us for ten years and they are hardly going to start now. They have only beaten us once in their last FOURTEEN games against us, so it is very difficult for me to think we will lose tonight. Give me a break!

So the form says an Arsenal win. What team are we likely to play? Well justarsenal has already covered this and his prediction says we will have a bit of sensible rotation, although we already know that Mustafi and Ramsey are definitely out, and I really think that Sanchez needs to have a rest, so I am going to be brave and predict this line up…

Cech
Holding  Koscielny  Monreal
Bellerin  Wilshere Coquelin  Kolasinac
Walcott  Ozil
Giroud

I know it’s controversial but it is time that Wenger shook the team up a bit. Let’s see shall we…

So what about the score? IAs I said, I can not see us losing this game whoever plays, so I am going for a 3-1 win to the Gunners.

What do you think?

  1. If we win this one, we will draw with Newcastle or lose against Liverpool because Wenger cannot stay too much without blaming something.

  2. Wilshere and Xhaka. Alexis over TW, but I think you might be right with Groud because also defensively he is useful v tall away team. Walcotts runs might have been useful in the last game, but I would still go with Alexis here.

  3. One thing i take from the last two game as a positive is the attacking side even tho we didnt score many we where there and it will click one these days.
Someone is gona take a beating in the league from us i just hope its L’pool,
About this game tonight if we dont control Carroll it will be tough if we do i see 3-4 goals to 0-1 for us.
Just cut out these silly mistakes at the back and our attack will do the rest.
Hope Laca plays with giroud in a 442 would be nice to see how it goes.

  4. i dont agree with benching our best goalscorer this season in alexandre lacazette but i agree that giroud has to start.

    cech

    debuchy koscienly monreal bellerin

    coquelin wilshere

    ozil

    lacazette giroud.

would be a good choice but wenger is so static.

  5. I am sorry but with this line up against
West Ham with the side passing and backwards and never shooting
I dont want to be negative but I have my reservations!!
    Cheers!!!

  6. Its the same crap every game.
Dominate possession – do **** all with it
    Cannot defend
    Cannot attack.
Cannot do anything when you have a buffoon for a manager.
Please for the love of god go Wenger.
You have had your day – let someone who is closer to 30 years old than 100 years old have their turn.
Middle of December and 19 points behind.
    Incompetent, useless, JUST GO !!!

  7. Another shit performance.
    More excuses.
And that idiot still in a job.
I cannot believe i wasted two hours of my life watching this useless bunch of losers.
Arsenal are pathetic – i hope they finish mid table…
